Chapter 162: Accidents Keep Happening
Everyone's spirit was uplifted.
At the moment the Spacetime Passage opened, their previously tense spirits finally relaxed.
A hint of a smile finally appeared on the somewhat solemn faces of the crowd.
As the power of spacetime surged and twisted violently, a narrow black fissure slowly widened, emerging within this small jungle.
After a moment of waiting, the Spacetime Passage quickly took shape.
Just as the crowd showed delight, several powerful auras suddenly appeared around the perimeter of the jungle and rushed toward them.
Calling it a small jungle is only relative to the Mantis Plane; in fact, its area is comparable to that of a nation.
Behind those powerful auras were countless life auras ranging from Level One to Level Two, nearly twice their number.
The crowd sensed it for a moment, their expressions instantly changed, and without hesitation they surged toward the opened Spacetime Passage.
However, the Spacetime Passage was not yet fully stable, leaving much of the spatial energy still lingering at its entrance.
Many low-level Dark World strong ones, lacking experience or being too rash, instantly shattered, blood gushing out and forming thick blood mists that filled the Spacetime Passage.
The Dark World strong ones following closely, shocked by the scene, examined closely and discovered thin black fissures infused with spatial power scattered throughout the Spacetime Passage, easily overlooked.
Having learned the lesson, they no longer rushed, avoiding the paths littered with bloody limbs and proceeding very cautiously into the Spacetime Passage.
Fulade surveyed everything with a cold eye; he was not in a hurry to enter the Spacetime Passage.
Even the strong ones from the major factions wore neutral expressions, watching coldly with a lively air.
Only the minor factions showed some panic, scrambling forward in a frenzy.
This strange scene was quickly noticed by the observant.
Stardust Witch Miraya halted the step she was about to take, calling out to a few companions to wait quietly.
Sure enough, in an instant, the foot she had just retracted saved her life.
She heard a series of mournful screams emanating from within the passage.
Miraya's expression shifted slightly as she looked toward Fulade.
In response to Miraya's gaze, Fulade gave no elaborate explanation, merely instructing her to stay close for a moment.
Miraya was not the only clever one; seeing Fulade and the other major forces unmoving, even with lingering doubts, they waited patiently.
Those who act without thought, only caring to flee first and lacking any sense of group, are not worthy of the major factions' sympathy or concern.
Miraya seemed to quickly realize this and felt relieved inwardly.
A moment later, a clear, cold voice sounded.
"It's ready, the Spacetime Passage is stable, everyone, restrain your auras," Northern Witch Leader Vivian's eyes brightened; as soon as she finished speaking, she headed toward the passage.
At this moment, numerous strong figures of the Mantis Civilization appeared far off in the crowd's view.
Led by Northern Witch Vivian, everyone no longer hesitated and surged into the Spacetime Passage.
In the distant sky, a dozen rainbow beams, bearing a soaring momentum, moved rapidly toward them, surrounding the area; upon close inspection, among those beams the Mantis Civilization's Third Empress Leila Bolante stood out. A faint cold smile curled at her mouth as she watched the slowly opening, quickly forming Spacetime Passage accelerate further.
Fulade naturally sensed that among those distant auras, the aura of Third Empress Leila was also prominently present.
His brows involuntarily furrowed, a hint of doubt suddenly arising.
But Fulade did not overthink; looking at the passage ahead, he hesitated no longer and rushed toward the Spacetime Passage.
Yet accidents always arrive unprepared.
Just as Fulade and his strong companions entered in succession, advancing toward the passage.
Within the ranks, three Level-One and one Level-Two Dark World beings suddenly surged, launching an attack on the Spacetime Passage that linked to the Dark World…! This left the Dark World crowd's eyes wide open, filled with disbelief at the suddenness.
Sensing the sudden burst of aura nearby, Fulade thought ill and quickly reacted.
Ma'erjin, not far from Fulade, also reacted swiftly, raising a magical shield in an instant that barely enveloped the Spacetime Passage, blocking the unexpected assault.
As Fulade and his group were blocked, their expressions darkened, forced to deal with these traitors.
At this moment, Third Empress Leila Bolante's eyes revealed a confident resolve to obtain victory.
Fulade never imagined that this sudden encirclement was largely caused by his own actions.
Leila Bolante, though modest and restrained, harbored deep pride, making her highly confident in her strength; even when facing Level-Three opponents stronger than herself, she was not at all reluctant to contend.
Yet she did not expect to be repeatedly bested before Fulade; moreover, each night at sleep, strange images flooded her mind, making her blush and feel embarrassed.
Realizing she had unknowingly fallen victim to the opponent's covert move made the haughty Leila Bolante wonder how she could endure.
Even if she set a heavenly net, she would wait for that scoundrel to walk into it and capture him in one fell swoop.
But unexpectedly, the opponent feigned a diversion, not only seeing through her scheme but also looting all the hidden warehouse resources; Uncle might tolerate it, but Grandmother could not.
Fortunately, having previously thought carefully, they had left some species-specific pheromones of their clan among the supplies; though at the time it seemed unnecessary, it proved useful, and they immediately gathered forces to encircle and capture them.
Thus, one must not underestimate the means and wisdom of any individual or civilization.
When she noticed the opponent's sudden internal strife, Leila Bolante's mouth curled in mockery, her smile growing even broader.
"You really think my Mantis Civilization is deserted!
Come when you want, leave when you please!"
The others were blocked for only a moment before Mantis Plane's strong ones surrounded them.
With a booming shout, a massive threat surged forth instantly.
After just dealing with those unlucky ones clearly controlled by the Mantis Plane's prophet priest's mental force, Fulade and his group, delayed briefly, had to turn back to confront the sudden threat.
Boom! A sharp, radiating golden blade slashed fiercely at Fulade; a deafening crash accompanied the violent energy collision, causing spatial turbulence that rippled in waves, instantly destabilizing the Spacetime Passage.
