Chapter 17: I've Definitely Got This Script Backwards
After being reminded, Fulade noticed that apart from one whose head had been blown apart and one whose chest cavity had been completely pierced through, the other three prisoners had risen to their feet with a roar and continued to charge howling at the vampire bodyguards.
Though they still did not cause much trouble for the vampire bodyguards.
"They really are quite a lot like zombies." Fulade finally made his own judgment.
Other than the unexpected weakness of having an additional heart, wasn't this just the same as zombies?
Bloodthirsty, brainless, tenacious vitality, sensitive to fresh blood.
It was just unknown whether there would be viral transmission.
Probably not. The moment this thought arose, Fulade shook his head. If even he could not manage it, how could these weak underlings.
"Hmm, but that is still a line of thought worth considering," Fulade pondered inwardly.
If the world were to learn that Fulade had such ideas, they would absolutely and thoroughly eliminate this heretic.
"What do you make of their strength?" Fulade turned and asked the vampire bodyguards.
"Lord Fulade, although they lack intelligence, their strength far exceeds that of an adult by two to three times, and their speed also surpasses that of ordinary people."
"Coupled with powerful vitality, and a fearlessness of pain and death, the degree to which they are difficult to deal with is sufficient to rival three or four fully armed elite soldiers."
Facing this Fulade who had granted them formidable strength and near-eternal life, the vampire bodyguards dropped to one knee with reverence, bowing their heads to express their worship.
Fulade nodded. It was not far from his own judgment.
It was just that these zombie-version blood thralls had too many uncertainties, and overall they were not of much help to him.
"Notify the troops to prepare to break camp," Fulade ordered the guards outside the hall.
"Clean it up. Leave no trace," Fulade then turned and said to Weiluona.
It was not that Fulade was being overly cautious, but rather that he could sense the Xiudaoyuan within the city, which gave him a very uncomfortable feeling.
Although he was not entirely certain whether the clergymen, nuns, and other religious personnel inside the Xiudaoyuan possessed supernatural power.
But Fulade dared to affirm that the Xiudaoyuan definitely contained a mysterious power that restrained creatures of darkness like them.
Weiluona, watching Fulade leave, stood for a long time before returning from the terrace of Wanggongchengbao to the great hall.
Looking at the five vampire bodyguards standing within the great hall, Weiluona walked up close and paced back and forth, surveying them:
"I know that before you became vampires, you were already one-in-a-hundred warriors in the army."
Having said that, Weiluona's eyes narrowed slightly. From behind several vampires, she suddenly thrust her chin between two vampire bodyguards, bared her fangs, and said fiercely:
"I also know that although, bound by Master's command, you must obey me,
in truth, you do not think much of having a woman lord over you. I can give you a chance!"
"A chance to challenge me."
Weiluona's figure shifted slightly, and she abruptly appeared above the great hall. Turning and raising her head, she looked down at them with contemptuous eyes and said: "If you win, you may do as you please and act independently. If you lose, you will not need to accept punishment.
You need only obey me unconditionally!"
Weiluona's words clearly caught the vampire bodyguards off guard, stirring up a commotion among them.
In their eyes, Weiluona had previously been nothing more than a frail princess. Had she not gained Lord Fulade's favor, how could it have been her turn to throw her weight around above them.
Although they would not say anything, in their hearts they did indeed harbor a certain disdain for Weiluona.
And as the princess of Transylvania, if one truly thought Weiluona was merely an ignorant young girl, then one would be greatly underestimating the aristocratic style of education.
Otherwise, why would Weiluona's brother have resorted to rebellion to seize power over the country?
Surely no one really believed that the mere title of first heir apparent could drive someone to such extremes!? Perhaps Fulade had long since seen through Weiluona's true nature, which was why he had handed command over to her. And indeed, right after Fulade departed, Weiluona had immediately set about establishing her own authority.
From this it could be seen that Weiluona was not a love-addled fool who only swooned over Fulade!
Looking down at the center of the great hall below, where several vampire bodyguards were eager to try.
Weiluona let out a disdainful cold laugh: "What, you don't dare?"
"Or are you all a bunch of worthless trash!"
Such blatant provocation—how could these vampire bodyguards endure it? Immediately one of them charged forward, determined to teach this presumptuous woman a lesson.
Just as Weiluona began to establish her authority and sought to subdue these unruly vampire bodyguards, a bat quietly slipped away.
Transylvanian Plateau.
The sunlight was fierce at this time.
A mighty, iron-armored elite army stretched for several li.
Rows of raised steel spears glinted with cold light, like a mobile forest of steel, marching along the plateau post road with an imposing and solemn air.
The so-called post road was nothing more than a stretch of solid dirt road formed by many people walking it over time.
Fulade, positioned with the central army at this moment, sat upright in his carriage with his eyes closed in contemplation.
Since awakening his memories and becoming a vampire, he had already been able to sense that this world still harbored many secrets.
It was just that he had spent years on the battlefield and had not stepped into the supernatural realm, so he had subconsciously overlooked too many existences.
"It seems I need to establish an intelligence network of my own as soon as possible," Fulade murmured.
"Squeak squeak~" A large black bat suddenly flew into the carriage, chirped a few times by Fulade's ear, then dissolved into a wisp of black smoke and vanished.
"Heh, that girl." Fulade shook his head with a helpless laugh.
Although Fulade had long seen that Weiluona was no simple matter, even he had not expected her to be this decisive.
"As expected, to be the eldest sister among three beautiful vampires, how could Weiluona be some innocent little white flower who knows nothing."
A highly capable yet love-addled Weiluona—then what were the other two Vampire Brides like? This was truly getting more and more exciting.
Fulade's fingers drummed ceaselessly against the armrest, his thoughts already drifting far away.
Time slowly passed.
Two weeks later, a massive city appeared on the horizon.
That was the capital of the Ottoman Empire, Istanbul.
Perhaps this name may be unfamiliar to you, but you have definitely heard its other name.
Known as the eternally unfallen Eternal City: Constantinople.
As the army slowly entered the city, Fulade also handed over his power.
After entering this prosperous city, Fulade, who had become a vampire, was very unaccustomed.
If you ask why, seeing so many churches, monasteries, and priests everywhere, along with numerous Holy Court clergy, you'd be strange if you could adapt.
"Made, this script, I definitely got it reversed—does this count as ~a vampire charging into the Holy Court's stronghold?"
Fulade's eyebrows twitched as he looked around, and he casually threw out a soul‑searching question.
