Chapter 5: A Girl
At that moment she stared around the surroundings with a bewildered expression and said groggily, "Wasn't I dead?"
"Weiluona, you're awake."
Appearing before her together with the voice was Fulade's handsome face.
Weiluona stared dumbfounded at Fulade, gradually realizing that she, Weiluona, had not died, and couldn't help laughing.
She stared straight ahead without blinking an eye.
Fulade watched the girl, who had fallen into a lovestruck state, with an amused expression.
Who could have imagined that the formidable elder sister Weiluona, the stunning Vampire Bride in Fanhaixin, would look like this in her girlhood?
Gently reaching out, Fulade stroked Weiluona's delicate youthful face, his thoughts wandering.
It wasn't until his fingers felt Weiluona's cheek heat up that Fulade came to his senses.
Seeing Weiluona's eyes again wandering without a place to rest, her expression flustered, Fulade whispered to her:
"You were unconscious for an hour, lost a fair amount of blood; get some rest soon."
Weiluona, hearing Fulade's deep, magnetic voice, fixed her gaze on him, her cherry lips soft and glistening, about to speak but holding back.
"What's wrong?" Fulade asked, looking at Weiluona with puzzlement.
Weiluona's face suddenly flushed red, her slender white fingers clutching the corner tightly, and she, a bit flustered, said, "Y‑you, I—I, not that…?!"
After saying that, Weiluona was too embarrassed to look at Fulade again.
She felt that she must be broken now; otherwise she couldn't have uttered those words.
"How embarrassing!" Weiluona thought.
Fulade looked at the flustered girl with a rather odd expression, feeling a pang of sourness in his teeth.
Shouldn't she be asking me about vampires or something? This girl really… I don't get it.
"Little girl, what are you thinking?"
"Do you think, in your current condition, you could still serve me?"
He rubbed Weiluona's long black hair and said with some pity.
"Don't worry, once you've rested, you won't be able to run away," Fulade said.
"Mm!" Weiluona, her face flushed red, looked at Fulade as he gently soothed her, shyly nodding a little.
Watching Fulade stride out of the room, his upright silhouette, Weiluona's thoughts drifted away again.
It was already deep night, and the city's resistance forces had long been eradicated.
Besides a few audacious wandering thugs still hoping to stir trouble, the city had already begun enforcing a curfew.
This caused those with malicious intent, hoping for a lucky break to take advantage, to hit a solid wall directly.
Those who resisted even a little were dealt with without further comment, slaughtered on the spot.
The rest were all hanged within the city and punished as a deterrent to the public.
Fulade's troops were already well aware of this post‑siege cleanup procedure, so Fulade need not worry about it.
After gaining a rough understanding of the city's situation, Fulade went to the Transylvania palace to examine his own internal condition.
"The energy in my blood suddenly surged that much?"
"Is this normal? Or is there some special factor involved?"
Since it was his first time feeding on blood and he had no reference, Fulade could not make an effective judgment.
This information is crucial for him to enhance his strength in the future.
After pondering for a moment, Fulade's expression changed; he walked toward the balcony, instantly turning into a wraith and drifting away.
When dawn broke in the early morning, in the once empty room, Fulade had appeared at some unknown moment.
He wiped a strand of fresh blood from his mouth corner; a flash of red light crossed his deep eyes, and his gloomy, demonic aura grew even stronger.
"Ah, it seems one cannot over‑feed in a short time, or one will easily lose one's mind."
Fulade stood in the room, slowly calming the blood‑thirst surging within him, even though he was already sated.
After a night of distinguishing and comparing.
Fulaide had formed some conjectures: first, blood from the prime of youth is the best.
And depending on each person's constitution, the enhancement effect varies.
Especially the blood of a maiden virgin, which is not only sweet but also brims with abundant energy.
But compared with Weiluona's, it still falls far short, the gap like the bright moon versus countless stars.
"The comparable information is still far too scant," Fulade muttered.
Although he has vague guesses, more time is needed to verify.
He noted this in his mind; when he looked at the sky outside, the day had already brightened.
He slowly placed his finger under the rising sunlight, sensing delicately; though still uneasy, it felt slightly milder than before.
"Seems the power boost really works."
Fulade lowered his head, looked at his palm, thought briefly, then walked toward Weiluona's room.
Creak—
As the door pushed open, Weiluona, standing by the window, turned her head with delight.
Fulade entered, looking at the black‑haired, straight‑haired girl with long legs standing in the shadow by the window, and immediately understood that she must have noticed his change.
"You're here," Weiluona said, lightly biting her cherry lips. "Hmm, you noticed." Fulade gave a slight nod, looking at Weiluona.
"Hmm, I suddenly really hate sunlight," Weiluona said, puzzled.
Having woken early in the morning, Weiluona immediately sensed the changes in her body.
Her speed increased, her strength grew, and even her figure and skin seemed a few shades better.
Originally in a cheerful mood, Weiluona pulled back the sheer curtains to enjoy the morning sun, but the moment the sunlight struck her, she instantly felt a wave of discomfort.
Weiluona understood that the change they were undergoing must be related to Fulade.
Seeing Weiluona staring steadily, waiting for an answer, Fulade explained the situation to them.
"You mean I'm no longer human," Weiluona murmured absentmindedly.
Just as Fulade thought Weiluona might not be able to accept it, the girl slowly came in front of Fulade, hugged Fulade tightly, and firmly said, "As long as I can be with you, what I become doesn't matter!"
At that moment, hearing the girl's heartfelt words, Fulade was profoundly shocked.
Gently lifting Weiluona's delicate chin, Fulade looked into the girl's eyes, which trembled slightly at the lashes, and asked, "Do you ever regret?"
"I have said that everything of mine is yours," Weiluona's gaze was very resolute.
From the moment the deity abandoned them, when they, in desperate helplessness, cried out, and Fulade appeared, their heart had already decided that this man who saved them was the one.
The girl lifted their chin, resolutely expressing their determination to Fulade.
Even if after death they forever fall into hell! they would never regret.
Fulade sucked on the small snake that Weiluona offered, seemingly sensing the girl's resolve.
Fulade bent down, lifted Weiluona in one hand, and walked toward the bedroom.
