"Mother."

As the centaur girl Ailu pushed open the door, Fulade also saw everything inside clearly.

In the room, a mature-looking centaur woman lay on the bed, on the verge of death.

Her pale face was faintly veiled by a thin layer of black Qi.

The instant the door was pushed open, Fulade keenly detected a rank, pungent odor.

"Such heavy toxins," Fulade frowned inwardly.

Beside the mature centaur was a young black-haired centaur girl, perhaps about fourteen or fifteen years old.

She was a head shorter than Ailu, standing at roughly one meter seventy.

Four plump, full long legs and an equally thick, round hindquarters were tightly wrapped in worn leather, outlining an enticing curve.

At this moment she was watching her mother, who kept coughing blood, with an anxious expression; when she saw Ailu enter, the girl, who had been so frightened she was at a loss, subconsciously let out a breath of relief.

"A human~!" But immediately after, upon seeing Fulade entering behind her, her expression could not help but change.

She grabbed the spear from the corner and, with a face full of resentment, charged forward to fight him to the death.

"Leiya, no," Ailu cried out in alarm. Forgetting to check on her severely injured mother, she hurriedly stopped her impulsive younger sister Leiya.

"Sister, why are you stopping me? It's because of these despicable humans that Mother was hurt like this. Why are you stopping me?"

Her younger sister Leiya first shouted in anger, then, as if suddenly thinking of something, hastily said:

"Sister, are you being threatened by this human? Damn it, I knew humans were no good—they only know how to bully us."

Before she finished speaking, a misty layer of moisture welled up in her eyes. No longer heeding her sister blocking the way, she raised her spear and, with an extremely fast diving charge, surged straight toward Fulade.

Surprisingly, even in such a cramped room, Leiya needed no buildup—her body instantly erupted with terrifying speed.

An afterimage flashed in place, and the next moment the centaur girl Leiya had already appeared right in front of Fulade.

The spear swung, forming streaks of afterimages.

Fulade watched everything before him with a calm expression.

Listening to the continuous sharp whistles of air being pierced by his ears, he was in fact already astonished within.

Judging from the centaur girl's completely chaotic spear attacks and the astonishing amplitude of the wild swaying at her chest.

Fulade could say with great certainty that the girl had never undergone systematic training.

No—she had not even properly used a weapon before.

Because Fulade noticed that even the girl's grip on the spear was extremely unstandard.

It was solely by relying on her powerful physique, forcibly driving it, that she achieved such fearsome attack effects.

Unfortunately, though the girl's attacks were fierce, there were simply too many openings.

Merely her extremely uncoordinated exertion posture and her utterly chaotic attack style.

Greatly diminished her own burst power and attack speed.

Fulade, his hunter's heart delighted, could not help but feel the urge to offer guidance.

"You're Leiya, right? The way you grip the spear isn't correct. You'd best move your right hand down an inch and grip tightly."

"Don't grip so hard with your left hand—don't you find that awkward?"

As Fulade offered guidance with keen interest, the girl's eyes showed extraordinary anger.

"Despicable human, shut up," Leiya's face flushed red, her expression one of shame and fury as she raged uncontrollably.

Looking at the furious centaur girl who simply would not listen to advice, Fulade curled his lips in mild boredom and stopped dodging. He directly slipped aside with a flash, his arm snaking like a serpent through the streaking afterimages of the spear. Before Leiya could react, a tremendous force suddenly struck from the spear in her hands.

A startled cry rang out as the spear instantly vanished from her grip, shooting straight through the door panel and out of the house.

Looking at the human face inches away, a suffocating sensation came from her neck.

"Big brother, please don't hurt Leiya. She didn't mean to offend you."

Seeing Ailu's nervous and pleading expression, Fulade smiled faintly and released the struggling girl, saying at last: "One last thing—when attacking an enemy, coordinate with your footwork. Don't just stand there foolishly in place."

With that, under Leiya's astonished gaze, he released her fair, tender neck and walked toward the bed.

Ailu, afraid her sister might act impulsively again, hurried to her side and told her the full cause of events, to prevent further misunderstandings and conflict.

"Sister, what did you say? He can save Mother!?" the centaur Leiya said in disbelief.

"But—but didn't Mother say humans hate us? Last time they even nearly killed Mother," Leiya clearly still hesitated.

However, upon seeing her sister's sternly warning gaze, Leiya had no choice but to abandon her impulse to keep causing trouble.

Still, when she looked toward Fulade, she maintained a sense of wariness.

Seeing this, Ailu did not say anything more. As long as Mother could be saved, she figured her sister would no longer be hostile toward the big brother.

Paying no mind to the sisters with their vastly different temperaments beside him, Fulade approached the bed and studied Ailu's mother, who had now fallen into a coma.

A thick layer of cloth strips was tightly wound around her chest and abdomen, compressing what had originally been a full bosom into two flat, snow-white cakes.

The rank, pungent, acrid smell he had noticed upon entering the room emanated from the woman.

Aside from the cloth strips binding her wound, the woman's upper body had no clothing at all.

What struck Fulade as strange, however, was that the lower equine body of Ailu's mother was not covered in smooth human skin, but rather in silver-white fur.

Fulade observed everything before him without changing expression, while asking Ailu behind him:

"What is your mother's name?"

Ailu was clearly taken aback, but quickly responded: "Lu'anna."

"Mm, that's right. You can call me Fulade."

As he spoke, Fulade lifted Lu'anna's silver-white long hair and looked at her face, which was faintly tinged with a wisp of black haze.

A glint of doubt flashed through his eyes: "Ailu, you said earlier that your mother was wounded by hunters."

"Yes, is there a problem?" Ailu asked with a nervous expression.

Leiya, standing to the side, though still wearing a wary expression, could not help but look tense now that her mother's life was at stake.

Fulade glanced at the two sisters, whose expressions were a bit tense, and in a slightly solemn tone said, "This is not the method of ordinary hunters, but the poison of a demon hunter."

"Demon hunter?" With the sisters' impoverished knowledge, it was clear they could not distinguish the difference between hunters and demon hunters.

Seeing the sisters' puzzled expressions, Fulade was unperturbed and said, "Demon hunters are not the same as hunters; demon hunters, as a rare transcendent profession, involve the use of magical power."

"They use magical secret herbs, from childhood they temper their bodies, gaining physiques and energy far beyond ordinary people; they call the magical power they control the Force."

"But that's not the point; the most important thing is that, because they have been exposed to magical herbs since childhood, they are also proficient in the use of magical toxins."

"In other words, the poison in your mother is not ordinary poison, but a toxin infused with strong magical‑erosion energy."

"So that's how it is; no wonder mother hasn't improved for a long time."

Looking at the despondent two sisters, Fulade thought for a moment, then suddenly said, "If you don't mind, shall I… untie it?"
