Chapter 69: I Somehow Became a Tool [Please Keep Reading!!!]

~6 min read 1,092 words

At night, the Centaur's bonfire party was very lively.

According to Lu'anna, such a spectacle hasn't been seen in three years.

Watching the uniquely graceful dances of the Centaur tribe.

The fiery Centaur Maidens, with supple, elegant waists, swayed the bells they carried, jingling in the night breeze.

The male Centaurs hurled spears and shot arrows, competing in martial prowess and displaying their bravery.

Even many young Centaur men and women used the bonfire gathering to choose their life partners.

The most popular were the sisters Ailu and Leiya.

They ignored the plaintive gaze Ailu sent.

Fulade and the Centaur garrison captain Krus, while admiring the rare exotic customs, competed in drinking under the cheers of the many Centaurs.

Beside them stood the tribal chief, an aging male Centaur.

It is said he is the sole survivor among the first batch of Centaurs, at least one hundred sixty years old.

Clearly, this is yet another remarkably long-lived extraordinary race.

Having become familiar, the Centaur captain who started calling him brother, Fulade not only didn't mind the address but actually enjoyed it.

After feasting, Fulade called Lu'anna, who was nearby, over.

Then, at Fulade's cue, Lu'anna recounted the origins of today's demon‑hunting party.

"This is a group of demon hunters from the northern kingdom of Allen Dale."

"Because the nearby forest can no longer supply us with enough food.

So I went hunting in northern Allen Dale; after all, it wasn't my first time there, but I didn't expect to be pursued by a band of demon hunters during the hunt.

Among today's group, I recognized a few familiar faces; although we have already eradicated them, we cannot rule out that our presence here has been exposed."

Lu'anna's expression turned solemn as she looked at the Centaur chief and Captain Krus, recounting her suspicions word by word.

Hearing Lu'anna's conjecture, Captain Krus's face grew serious, and he turned his head toward the Centaur chief Otus.

As the saying goes, age brings wisdom; Chief Otus did not respond right away to her and Krus.

Instead, he gave Fulade a meaningful glance before turning to Krus and saying:

"Send personnel to the vicinity of the secret realm's entrance, with two squads rotating guard, tightly monitoring every movement nearby."

Krus nodded, and without delay, immediately began assigning troops.

Seeing this, Fulade told Chief Otus, "If you need help, just call for me; I would be honored to assist you."

Fulade's sincere gaze showed no pretense.

Chief Otus smiled and nodded, replying, "Thank you for your kindness, Lord Fulade; should we need assistance, we will ask you."

Regarding Fulade's power, the seasoned Chief Otus had already suspected it and naturally would not foolishly refuse.

The moon shone brightly, the stars were sparse, and a gentle breeze blew.

As the bonfire feast dispersed, Lu'anna looked toward the murmuring ahead, and, glancing back at the Ailu sisters who were watching, told the two to go home first.

After seeing the two walk away, Lu'anna stopped and suddenly said:

"Everything you asked me to do, I've done; although, as you say, they could become reality, what is your purpose?"

Facing Lu'anna's puzzled expression, Fulade was silent for a moment, then said:

"I'm just an outsider; some matters are only reassuring when brought up by your own people."

"It's really just that," Lu'anna said, clearly not believing the excuse.

Looking at the familiar beautiful female Centaur before him, Fulade stepped forward and said, "You think I would harm you."

Confronted with the hot breath brushing her cheek, Lu'anna's eyes flashed with inexplicable panic; she quickly stepped back and said, "You and I trust each other; it's just some doubts."

Seeing Lu'anna striving to stay calm, Fulade's mouth curled into a mischievous smile. Without waiting, he stepped forward again; the composed Centaur Maiden inhaled shallowly and forced herself to stay steady, saying, "You, you and my daughter—what's going on?"

"It's nothing; perhaps your daughter has some misunderstanding about me."

"Misunderstanding?" Lu'anna murmured, seeming to sigh in relief, but then suddenly startled and hurriedly said to Fulade:

"Don't let Ailu be sad; she's very simple, and I think you can see she relies heavily on you."

Fulade replied with a half‑smile, "Don't worry, I'm a gentleman."

"I rarely do things that make a girl sad."

Hearing this, Lu'anna thought for a moment and said, "You must have many girls who like you out there, right?"

Facing Fulade's undeniable gaze, Lu'anna's expression darkened slightly.

Regarding this man who had saved her many times, to be honest Lu'anna still admired him greatly.

But bound by her morals, Lu'anna dared not show it.

"Do you know why I was born?"

The hot breath brushed Lu'anna's ear; with the night's cool wind, a fine layer of gooseflesh rose on her delicate skin.

Lu'anna held her breath, her voice slightly trembling, "What is it."

"Blood!"

"Blood?" Lu'anna asked, a hint of confusion.

A wisp of hot air brushed her slender neck, causing Lu'anna to involuntarily flinch.

Then a slightly seductive voice whispered in her ear:

"Want to try? I think you'll like it."

As the words faded, a strong hand gently stroked Lu'anna's full, supple waist.

Amid Lu'anna's rapid breathing and unease, it lightly plucked at the beautiful woman's heartstrings.

"No, no!" At the crucial moment, Lu'anna shoved Fulade away and fled the place in panic.

Fulade saw this and merely shrugged helplessly, not paying much attention.

After all, I'm just satisfying my own petty taste.

However, you can tell that Lu'anna's heart has been stirred.

The next morning.

Leiya ran up to Fulade excitedly and whispered:

"Hmph, I saw it all—your older sister sneaked out in the middle of the night to find you, right?"

"What did you guys do? After sister went inside, she was smiling happily."

Fulade gave the curious-looking girl before him a strange look.

Why do I suddenly feel like a fox stealing chickens?

Leiya first looked left and right, seeing no one paying attention, she grabbed Fulade and pulled him into the nearby grove.

"Hurry up, I want to try too."

"Try, try what?" Looking at the quirky girl before him, Fulade's eye twitched a few times, his expression odd, he hesitated slightly.

"It's that thing you did to your older sister."

"That's it~" Leiya subconsciously gestured a few times.

"I saw those two little red marks on your sister's neck; I also want to try—see if it feels especially good."

Seeing Leiya's excited, expectant expression, Fulade remained silent.
