Chapter 92: Isabel and the Giant Army【Read On!!】

~7 min read 1,286 words

Southern Kingdom, Klovit.

The scarred city walls, countless flames, smoke, shattered buildings, mournful cries, and terrified shouts were visible everywhere in Klovit City.

Trees ablaze with massive flames pierced the walls and continuously fell from the sky.

They brought disaster‑like scenes to the garrison and civilians of the city.

This place has already become a living hell.

"Father, father~!" a voice with a sobbing tone suddenly rang out.

A woman with flawless skin, dressed in a splendid golden imperial gown that highlighted her graceful curves, looked sorrowfully at the middle‑aged man in her arms.

The man wore golden armor; he was the king of Klovit.

But from his sunken chest, it was clear he could no longer live.

And this woman was Klovit's sole heir, Isabel.

"Help—help us!"

Isabel, crying, nodded repeatedly as tears streamed from her eyes.

"Boom—!!" "Bang~~!"

Another deafening crash came from nearby; Isabel looked toward the walls where flaming trees and massive rocks were being hurled.

Suppressing the grief over her father's death, she lifted her skirt and ran toward the castle tower.

If she could light the beacon there, the surrounding kingdoms would surely see it and come to aid.

Meanwhile, outside the walls,

Mountains of corpses and seas of blood covered the once‑green plain, now stained with bright red gore.

At a glance, thousands of skeletal remains, tangled limbs and severed arms were everywhere.

Upon closer inspection, scattered tents lay across the plain.

These were the tents of the Holy See Legion that had been caught off guard last night.

By now most of those Holy See Knights had turned into corpses or become food for the Giants.

Looking closely, there were no fewer than a thousand Giants, armored and wielding various weapons, scattered near the walls.

Their average height of eight to nine meters granted them immense power and a crushing sense of oppression.

In front of the Giant Legion stood a raging Two-Headed Giant, fifteen to sixteen meters tall and bristling with strength.

With a ferocious expression, it commanded its Giants to continuously assault the city.

Behind it were several Giant Captains, about twelve meters tall, whose life level had reached Tier One.

It was evident that two of the Giants bore serious injuries.

"These despicable humans dare to use the Crown to try to control us! Hmph, how arrogant!"

The Two-Headed Giant sneered disdainfully.

Behind it, a heavily‑armored Giant named Aili mocked:

"Those vile humans don't realize, General Follen, you have already ascended to the level of Giant King and are no longer bound by the Crown's curse."

"Otherwise, that fool wouldn't even dare to connect to Gantuva and come here trying to control us Giants."

As the words fell, sarcastic laughter rang out around them.

Follen gave a cold smile while looking at the golden ring on his finger.

This is the Crown of Aeric, forged centuries ago from a Giant King's heart, capable of commanding all Giants!

That fool named Roderick apparently still holds some ministerial post in this country—utterly foolish!

He gazed at the war‑torn Klovit.

Fulade flew at near‑sonic speed toward the tower engulfed in thick smoke.

"You ignited the fireworks," a voice suddenly came from behind.

Unprepared, Princess Isabel was startled, her delicate body trembling as she saw, at an unknown moment, an additional silhouette appear atop the tower.

Isabel gasped, "Who are you, and how did you get up here!"

The staircase was right beside her; if someone had climbed, she would have known. Fulade looked at the beautiful princess clad in a golden imperial gown that accentuated her tall, graceful curves, inspiring endless imagination.

"You are Isabel!" Fulade asked proactively.

"I—I am," Isabel replied with a hesitant nod.

"Well, you can call me Fulade. I'm here to assist you; could you tell me what happened?"

Dizzy, Isabel, still unclear about what had occurred, began explaining the cause of the incident to Fulade.

She said the spark of the whole affair was the spread of the Wolf Disaster,

Fulade fell silent for a moment.

To deal with the Wolf Disaster.

The king of Klovit retrieved from the Tomb of the Former King of Aeric a Magic Crown capable of controlling Giants.

And the Magic Beans that could transform into sky‑reaching vines linking to Sky Island Gantuva.

But soon, with the arrival of the Holy See Judgment Head leading the Holy See Knight Order, the Wolf Disaster crisis was alleviated.

Thinking the two magical relics were unnecessary, the Klovit king locked them away in a high cabinet.

All of this was observed by Royal Chief Steward Minister Roderick.

"He stole the Magic Beans and the Crown, intending later to control the Giants and seize control of the Klovit Kingdom,"

"However, because we uncovered his plot early, he tossed the Magic Beans to escape," Isabel said.

"So these Giants are all controlled by him!?" Fulade rubbed his jaw, looking thoughtful.

Isabel, with a satisfied sneer, replied, "As for him, he's probably already become Giant dung by now!"

Fulade stared in bewildered confusion at Isabel, "I recall you earlier said he stole the Crown that controls Giants."

Yes, Mr. Fulade, but the legend of the crown may be mistaken; he failed to control all the giants, so. he died.

On Isabel's somewhat dirty, fair little face, she wore a look of schadenfreude, feeling relieved.

This is probably, for Isabel, the only piece of good news that isn't really good news.

Bang~!! Boom!!

Ya~ ah!!

With a series of loud noises, the high tower shook.

Isabel momentarily lost her footing, about to fall, rolling down the stairs.

In a panic, Fulade grabbed her small hand and pulled her up, preventing her from rolling down the stairs and suffering a disfiguring, serious injury.

The still-panicked Isabel clung tightly to Fulade's chest, and only after a while did she regain her composure.

When she raised her head to look at Fulade, realizing their somewhat ambiguous pose, Isabel's face involuntarily reddened, and she quickly broke free from his embrace.

"Thank you~" Isabel said, her gaze somewhat wandering.

But after all, she wasn't a hesitant woman; as Isabel, who had been groomed since childhood to be a queen, she quickly adjusted her mindset at this moment.

Looking down from above at the dense army of giants that seemed about to breach the city wall, Isabel couldn't help but say:

"Mr. Fulade, you said you came to support us, so where is your army?"

Isabel nervously looked outward, but discovered that outside the city wall, aside from the giants, there was simply no other army.

Isabel looked at Fulade with a doubtful expression; she saw Fulade point at the sky outside the high tower, and Isabel, feeling a bit dazed, slowly turned her head to look in the direction Fulade's finger pointed.

A scene that would be unforgettable for her instantly appeared in her field of vision.

Only to see, in what was originally a clear blue sky, a huge black cloud, moving at a speed beyond ordinary imagination, swiftly Klovit attacks.

As it drew nearer, Isabel shockingly discovered that it was not a cloud at all, but clearly a huge foreign army with large bat wings flying in the sky! The Blood Race Army that covered the sky and earth, accompanied by countless huge black bat swarms, in an instant occupied Isabel's entire field of vision.

Before Isabel could recover from her shock,

On the ground, a cavalry regiment of three to four thousand, fully armed, with extraordinary ferocity, nearly twice or thrice the speed of ordinary cavalry, was charging toward this side.

Besides that, there also accompanied a tremendous roar that shook the heavens, spreading from the trembling forest in the distance toward this side.
