Chapter 97: Sky Island! [Follow the reading!!]

~10 min read 1,957 words

Isabelle, having just endured a punishment, finally ascended to the legendary Sky Island, Gantuva, amid the turbulence and torment.

When her slender legs stood weakly upon this land of Gantuva, the faint daze in her eyes was quickly replaced by a profound sense of awe.

In the sky, blue as if freshly washed, were streams of cascading water like a silver river plunging down three thousand feet.

Seven-colored grand light floated above the island, like a fairy-tale wonderland.

Floating islands of various sizes, like miracles, drifted above this land.

Like hundred-zhang mountain peaks thrust upside down.

At the edge of the land lay thick, pure-white clouds, wrapping this small continent suspended high in the air, as if they were what upheld this miracle of the sky.

Verdant trees, clean lakes, rivers and streams winding like long snakes, and the fragrance of flowers everywhere—all revealed the perfect natural landscape here.

Had she not seen the islands floating in the sky before her eyes, and the white clouds at her feet.

Isabelle would have thought they were still on the ground.

Looking at the flocks of birds constantly circling in the sky.

A strange red light flashed in Fulade's eyes, and scenes from the distant forest were now all clearly reflected in his line of sight.

Withdrawing his gaze, Fulade tilted his head slightly, and the Giant General Follen beside him strode with heavy steps toward the dense forest.

Boom—!! Boom—!! Amid a chorus of rumbling, more and more Blood Race warriors climbed and leaped up, and in mere moments, the surroundings were filled with the Blood Race legion.

Looking at the flying birds in the sky, Fulade tried taking flight—and sure enough, the no-fly restriction that originally existed while standing on the island had vanished.

It seemed the so-called no-fly restriction only applied outside the island.

"Roar—!!"

With a furious roar from Giant General Follen, the Giants who had been hiding in the forest and secretly observing stepped out at Follen's call.

As an existence that had ruled the Giant race for centuries, Follen's prestige was not to be underestimated; in just a few words, he brought these Giants back under control.

As Fulade and the others continued deeper.

Various novel species, creatures, and plants appeared one after another.

For instance, a chicken that could breathe fire—. a fire chicken!? A little lizard with a pair of horns, streams of cold air constantly surging from its nostrils, kicking its two hind legs—instantly a wind-fire wheel!?

"Boom—!!" "Boom—!!"

In the distance were elephants with wings—holy crap, little flying elephants!? Only the scales faintly radiating a black cold gleam showed that they were not to be trifled with either.

As they pressed on, more and more creatures carrying magical fluctuations—or rather, magical beasts—appeared before everyone.

Though their levels were generally not high, Fulade could still see the powerful bloodline potential they possessed.

If he was not mistaken, these were very likely magical beast bloodlines left over from ancient times.

But the problem was! The sluggish energy environment could cause them to fail to have enough time to grow before becoming food for Giants or other large predators.

And the higher the bloodline, the more demanding the requirements for growth environment and energy.

For example, that little lizard capable of the wind-fire wheel—if Fulade was not mistaken, it actually possessed a trace of dragon-attribute life factor within its body.

And yet now, it had been caught by a chicken—eh, a bobo chicken!?

Fulade, whose train of thought had instantly gone off track, hastily tossed the random memes of his past life out of his mind.

In any case, it could be seen that this was a natural treasure trove with exceedingly abundant Magic Resources.

It was just a pity that the race ruling here was a group of ignorant Giants with simple minds, powerful limbs, and passive evolution as their primary mode of development.

Emerging from the dense forest, crossing rivers, passing multiple abandoned and collapsed ancient buildings.

A vast Giant settlement appeared before Fulade and the others.

Looking from afar, houses over ten meters tall stretched in clusters, and in the extreme distance, several villages could faintly be seen.

Soon, Giant General Follen gathered all the Giant villages on the island together, and under Follen's prestige, they gave up resistance.

It could not really be said they gave up resistance—rather, the Giant who took the lead in wanting to resist had his neck snapped directly by Follen.

Watching the Giants begin to bow their heads in submission under Follen's lead, Fulade was very satisfied.

"Master, our Giant race currently numbers over four thousand three hundred and fifty. Excluding children and the elderly, every one of them, male or female, can be regarded as a brave warrior."

Fulade looked at his lackey Follen and nodded in satisfaction. Though after being branded with a slave mark, as a slave creature, he must unconditionally obey his Master's commands.

But if he were to slack off in secret, it would still be extremely infuriating.

Facing Follen's show of goodwill, Fulade said, "Well done. In that case, you shall continue to command the Giant race."

"Thank you, Master." Joy appeared on Follen's face.

Though he had originally been the leader of the Giant race, if Fulade did not feel at ease letting him continue to lead, he would have no way to resist.

Though he now had an additional master above him, the current outcome was still not bad.

Looking at these Giants bowing their heads before him in submission, Fulade nodded to the Witches following at his side.

The Witches then produced a contract scroll and had all the Giants leave their blood upon it.

Looking at the contract scroll before them, the Giants were well aware of what it meant.

Though it was not a slave contract, if they followed the terms written upon it, their Giant race would completely lose their freedom and be permanently bound by Fulade and his descendants.

Just as the Giants looked at each other in hesitation, Fulade said, "You don't have to sign if you don't want to."

But before the Giants could show even a hint of joy, Fulade directly shattered their unrealistic fantasies: "Then sign the slave contract!"

As his words fell, the Blood Race warriors surrounding the Giants assumed attacking stances one after another.

Follen looked at the scene before him and let out a roar. He stepped forward first and dripped his own blood; seeing this, the remaining Giants then slowly stepped forward.

As the scroll emitted a pulse of elemental rhythm, the Giants who signed the contract felt a faint sense of palpitation well up from within—that was the phenomenon of a contract being established.

From now on, these four thousand-plus Giants would become yet another important military force under Fulade's command.

Walking into the Giant race's dilapidated great hall.

This was an ancient building inherited from thousands of years ago; the mottled stone hall and the damaged yet exquisite mural styles all revealed differences from this era.

However, the Giants living here were clearly not very good custodians of cultural relics.

Thus, this place looks rather dilapidated and messy, and even Fulade, at a still relatively intact mural, saw traces of repeated scorching.

He did not take a closer look any further.

Fulade stepped onto the platform and looked behind him; besides Follen, the remaining four were Giants who had broken the Life Shackle and reached Level One Life Tier.

Two of those Giants bore many wounds, clearly the two Giant Captains who had fled earlier.

Among the remaining two Giants, there was even a female Giant, prompting Fulade to give her another glance.

That glance seemed to remind Follen of something.

"What are your names?" Fulade asked.

He gazed at the five Giants before him, including Follen.

Fulade had to sigh; out of just over four thousand Giants, eight had become Level One or higher strong Giants—this breakthrough ratio and potential were clearly astonishing. (On the battlefield two died, one was captured) This was because they had long been confined to Sky Island Gantuva, lacking sufficient supplies to expand their population.

If they had enough supplies to be fed, hiss, it is said their gestation period is hardly slower than that of humans.

The two Giants who had escaped from the battlefield introduced themselves, respectively Fo Li and Fo En.

Such naming for these Giants truly… Fulade was clearly powerless to mock.

From his observation, there are not less than a dozen named Fo Li and Fo En.

Fulade said, "Can't you give yourselves three‑character names!"

They insisted on two‑character names to death… whatever.

The last male Giant said, "Sir, I am called Allen."

He was a relatively slender Level One Giant, his muscles not well developed, and compared with other Giants of the same level, clearly one size smaller.

It could be seen that the same‑level Giants, including Follen, cast a hidden hint of contempt in their gaze at him.

Fulade silently observed everything before him, finally turning his eyes to the female Giant at the farthest edge.

Obviously the female Giant's status among the Giant race was not high, even though she had also reached Level One, transcending the Life Shackle.

The female Giant stepped forward, her pitch‑black eyes staring at Fulade, a trace of provocation in her look.

This scene made Fulade, watching, feel greatly amused.

"Sir, you may call me Annie." Her tone was neither humble nor arrogant, and the provocation in her eyes became even clearer.

She was a female Giant with golden hair; compared with other female Giants who were muscular and towering, she was rather delicate.

Fulade was very curious—how could such a 'weak' female Giant cause the other male Giants to feel a vague apprehension?

"Oh, Annie, why do I feel that a few of them are a bit afraid of you?" Fulade asked with interest, not minding the hint of provocation in the female Giant's eyes.

"Sir, you can try." Annie lifted her chin, looking somewhat defiant.

"Annie, how dare you!" Follen, seeing this, flashed a black aura on his face and scolded.

Looking at this 'petite' female Giant who, even after breaking Level One, was only nine meters tall, Fulade stopped Follen's rebuke.

Staring at the slender, delicate female Giant, Fulade smiled, "Then I'll try your skill."

As the words fell, the female Giant's eyes brightened, a blaze of battle intent radiating through her.

She moved, and Annie instantly vanished on the spot.

A gust rose, and a nearly six‑meter, elastic, evenly‑muscled long leg, bearing strong wind, in an instant covered Fulade's entire field of vision.

"Boom~!!"

A blast rang out, dust billowed, a raging wind blew, rattling Fulade's black coat.

A series of crack‑crack sounds came from beneath Fulade's feet.

In a flash of lightning, Fulade raised his arm, calmly placing the six‑meter premium thick leg above his head.

Before Annie could react, the Fulade who was not even as thick as Annie's leg, with a toothpick‑thin arm, merely bent slightly, and Annie was instantly flung away.

"Bang~!!" a thundering sound.

Stabilizing in mid‑air, Annie landed, thrusting her leg; the hard rock instantly shattered into powder.

"Power~!"

With Annie's shout, the shattered stones beneath her rose, and before they could touch the ground, Annie instantly returned above Fulade's head, her leg like a heavy pendulum, smashing down.

"Bang~!!"

Fulade instinctively felt his arm sink slightly, a strong gust of air surged, and compared with before, it seemed a bit more strenuous!

Fulade's eyes narrowed slightly; above Annie's body, a yellow aura had somehow appeared, flickering, rising and falling, very eye‑catching.

"What's that?" Fulade squinted, but before he could look closely, Annie's form flickered, and she shouted, "Swift~!"
