Chapter 1091: Sanguinius and Angron Meet (3)
Angron continued to display the details of his plan.
Fleet deployment, landing schedules, key objectives, contingency plans...
Sanguinius raised questions or suggestions from time to time.
Angron switched to another data panel and spoke.
"Regarding the intelligence department, I obtained some interesting information from the captured Fengqi Frigate. Things have not been peaceful within the Feng Qi Xing Alliance recently."
Sanguinius leaned forward with interest.
"Political strife?"
"More accurately, factional divergence."
Angron explained.
"The Feng Qi Xing Alliance is not monolithic. Their leadership is divided into two factions: the Traditionalist Faction advocates holding existing territories and consolidating defenses; the Expansionist Faction advocates continued outward expansion, even at the cost of conflict with other powers. The recent changes in the intensity of the resistance we have encountered are related to the shifting power balance between these two factions."
Sanguinius said thoughtfully.
"That explains why the defenses in some areas are unusually stubborn, while others are relatively weak. If we can exploit this divergence..."
"That is exactly my thought. According to intelligence, K-77 and K-78 are commanded by Traditionalist Faction generals; they are more inclined toward defense and will not easily risk a sortie.
The commander of K-79, however, belongs to the Expansionist Faction—young, aggressive, and hungry for military merit. If we show special interest in K-79, he may take the initiative to attack, seeking a decisive battle."
"Lure the enemy deep, then encircle and annihilate. But the premise is that we must appear authentic enough; we cannot let the opponent see that it is a trap."
Hearing Sanguinius's words, Angron nodded.
"I have already formulated a detailed deception plan. We need to commit seemingly powerful forces in the direction of K-79, but actually keep our elites as a reserve force. At the same time, maintain sufficient pressure on the K-77 and K-78 fronts to prevent the garrisons there from supporting K-79.
This will reduce various attrition rates by about twenty percent compared to a direct assault on K-79, at the cost of only a little more time."
The two discussed for nearly another hour, refining every link and considering every possibility.
Finally, Angron summarized.
"Then, we will launch the attack simultaneously in seventy-two hours.
The first twenty-four hours are critical; we must establish solid orbital control and ground beachheads.
If everything goes smoothly, within 48 hours of the war breaking out, we can control the main strategic objectives of these three planets."
Sanguinius stood up and stretched his wings.
"I agree. I will immediately begin mobilizing troops and deploying according to the plan. The formation of the Joint Task Force needs to start as soon as possible so the Commanders have time to integrate."
"I have already arranged preliminary mixed-unit exercises."
Angron said.
"Before the attack is launched, we have two opportunities for joint drills. Although time is tight, it is better than nothing."
Sanguinius looked at the three targets marked on the star map, his expression becoming serious.
"The Feng Qi Xing Alliance will not easily give up these worlds. Even if we succeed in occupying them, we must be prepared to deal with counterattacks."
"I have considered that."
Angron pulled up another plan.
"The consolidation phase after occupation is equally critical. I suggest that after controlling the main objectives, we immediately begin building Orbital Defense Platforms and ground fortresses. At the same time, through propaganda and limited conciliatory policies, we should strive for the cooperation of the local populace, or at least their neutrality.
Furthermore, after liberating a world, we need to station an orbital defense force on the border worlds to prevent what happened at Ximao Star from happening again."
"A wise move. Pure military occupation cannot last; it must be supplemented by political and public sentiment work. I will have my troops pay special attention to civilian protection and cultural respect.
After all, these worlds may become part of the Star Alliance in the future, rather than forever being enemy-occupied territory.
As for the orbital defense force, currently, most Star Alliance ships are used in the various expeditionary forces liberating the Feng Qi Xing Alliance; one orbital defense fleet per planet is a bit too extravagant. This can only serve as a short-term emergency plan. We still need to push the border to nodes suitable for defense as quickly as possible, and then arrange orbital defense forces at those defensive nodes."
Angron glanced at Sanguinius.
"You always think further ahead, brother. I am focused on winning the war, while you are already thinking about what comes after."
"We both serve the Star Alliance in our own ways."
Sanguinius said gently.
"Good. Then, let us each begin our preparations. Seventy-two standard hours from now, the liberation begins."
Before leaving the *Star Alliance Blade*, Sanguinius stopped at the hangar entrance and turned to face Angron.
"One more thing. Father mentioned a term in a recent communication: 'Mirror Rift'. He did not explain it in detail, but I feel it is important. Magnus seems to be researching related phenomena as well."
Angron's expression became focused.
"'Mirror Rift'? Sounds like some kind of spatial anomaly or Reality Distortion Phenomenon."
"I suspect as much. But Father specifically emphasized that if we encounter any 'Reality Distortion Phenomenon', we must report it immediately and not attempt to handle it ourselves.
This implies some kind of danger, something beyond conventional military threats."
Angron pondered.
"The 'abnormally powerful Alien Psionic' that Mortarion encountered... could it be related to this 'Mirror Rift'?"
"Very likely. In any case, we must remain vigilant while fighting on the front lines. The Feng Qi Xing Alliance may possess some technology or power we do not understand."
Angron promised.
"I will notify my officers. Focus on the task at hand, while remaining alert for anomalies."
Sanguinius extended his hand.
"That is exactly my thought. Then, see you later, brother. May our cooperation go smoothly and lead to victory."
Angron gripped his hand.
"For the Star Alliance, for Humanity."
"For family."
Sanguinius added.
The corners of Angron's mouth lifted slightly.
"Yes. For the sake of family."
The Shuttle slid out of the hangar of the Star Alliance Blade and returned to the Angel.
Returning to his flagship, Sanguinius summoned the senior officers to convey the battle plan.
The meeting lasted for three hours, during which Tasks were assigned, questions were answered, and a consensus was reached.
When the officers left, everyone was clear on their own duties and schedules.
After the meeting ended, Sanguinius remained alone on the Bridge, looking at the three targets on the star map.
The war was about to begin, countless soldiers would be thrown into battle, and many might not return.
Everything they fought for—peace, prosperity, and the future—was built upon such battles.
Every victory brought more security space to the Star Alliance, and every sacrifice won more chances of survival for the Human race.
Sanguinius opened a private communication channel, connecting to the Xiuluo Holy Star.
He sent a request to the Star Alliance central system to be transferred to Yingxin's study area.
