Chapter 1133: Your Weakness
The Oath, port side armor.
As the two warships collided, the Dreadnought-class Light Cruiser began boarding.
Guilliman was the first to charge onto the Oath, his Power Sword carving an arc of light.
Three Fengqi soldiers, caught off guard, were sliced in two before they could even fire their Rifles.
The Energy Force Field vaporized the blood, leaving behind only charred corpses.
"Enemy attack! They're here!"
The shouts of the Fengqi soldiers echoed through the corridor.
The sound of Bolters firing rang out immediately.
The Ultramarines deployed in formation, their Bolters spraying a hail of bullets.
The Energy Shields of the Fengqi soldiers were no match for the Bolters; their armor was easily pierced, and their bodies were blown into fragments.
But the Fengqi did not retreat.
They returned fire from behind cover, the Energy Beams striking sparks against the Power Armor.
"Advance!"
Guilliman ordered.
"Target: Bridge!"
The First Company began to move forward.
They arranged themselves in a classic assault formation, shields in front, firepower in the rear.
The obstacles, traps, and explosive devices set by the Fengqi soldiers were all violently breached.
At the first corner, they encountered a heavy fire point.
Four Fengqi soldiers operated a fixed weapon modified from a ship-mounted Rapid-fire Cannon, pouring out Energy Beams.
"Shield wall!"
Guilliman commanded.
The Ultramarines in the front row raised their Storm Shields, and the Energy Beams struck the shields, splashing sparks everywhere.
Guilliman charged out from behind the shield wall.
He covered the twenty-meter distance in just three strides.
With a swing of his Power Sword, the Rapid-fire Cannon was cleaved in two.
With a backhanded strike, all four Fengqi soldiers fell.
The entire process took less than 3 seconds.
"Continue the advance!"
Guilliman did not even pause.
They pushed along the main corridor.
Fengqi soldiers swarmed out from the rooms on both sides, attacking with every weapon available: Rifles, Hand Grenades, and even cutting tools.
But it was all in vain.
The defensive power of the MK4 Power Armor far exceeded the lethality of their weapons, and every counterattack by the Ultramarines claimed several lives.
The corridor turned into a slaughterhouse.
The walls were stained purple.
Severed limbs were visible everywhere, and some corpses were still twitching from nerve reflexes.
A young Fengqi soldier jumped down from a ventilation duct, clutching a concussion Hand Grenade as he lunged at Guilliman.
"For the Fengqi!"
Guilliman grabbed the soldier's neck with one hand and tightened his fingers.
The sound of bone fracturing was clearly audible.
The soldier's Third Eye flickered one last time, then went dark.
The corpse was tossed aside casually.
Guilliman said in a flat tone.
"Pathetic. Courage cannot bridge the gap in strength."
They reached the second line of defense.
Here, the Fengqi had set up tighter defenses: Energy Barriers, Automatic Turrets, and elite soldiers wearing heavy Power Armor.
"Finally, something interesting."
Guilliman said.
"First Company, destroy them."
The Ultramarines opened fire.
Bolters and Energy Beams intertwined in the air.
The armor of the heavy Fengqi soldiers was much stronger than that of ordinary soldiers, capable of withstanding a few Bolter rounds.
They fought back with Energy Axes and energy spears; one Ultramarine's Power Armor even had a crack split open by an Energy Axe.
But that was as far as it went.
Guilliman charged into the enemy ranks.
His Power Sword danced into a blue wheel of light.
With every swing, a heavy Fengqi soldier fell.
Armor was cleaved open, limbs were severed, and internal organs were exposed to the air.
A Fengqi officer thrust an energy spear toward Guilliman's back.
The spear tip touched the Power Armor, but could not pierce it.
Guilliman did not look back; with a backhanded swing of his sword, the officer was cut in two, spear and all.
13 seconds.
The defensive strength of the second line of defense was destroyed.
The Energy Barrier was violently dismantled, and the Automatic Turrets were blown into fragments.
The path to the Bridge was already half-opened.
Bridge of the Oathkeeper.
Olaf watched the surveillance screen, his Third Eye trembling violently.
Powerlessness, deep powerlessness.
Too fast.
The speed of the advance by Guilliman and the Ultramarines was unimaginably fast.
The defensive lines they had set up were broken through layer by layer, and the soldiers were Harvested like weeds.
It had taken only seven minutes from the breakthrough area to the current Third Deck.
And this stretch of road was originally expected to delay them for at least thirty minutes.
"Admiral, they are almost at the Command Center."
The Adjutant reported, his voice filled with despair.
"At this speed, five minutes at most..."
Olaf said in a calm tone.
"I know. Activate the Final Protocol."
The officers on the Bridge all turned their heads to look at him.
"Admiral..."
A young officer wanted to say something, but was stopped by Olaf's gaze.
"We will all die. But we can choose how we die. To die on our knees, or... to make the enemy be buried with us."
He walked to the main Control Console and entered the password.
A warning popped up on the screen.
"Activating the Final Protocol will detonate the Antimatter Core, completely destroying this ship and everything within 30 kilometers. Confirm?"
Olaf's finger hovered over the confirm key.
Just at this moment, the doors to the Bridge exploded.
Fragments splashed, and smoke filled the air.
From within the smoke, a tall figure walked out.
Robert Guilliman.
Guilliman's Power Armor was stained with purple blood and scorch marks, but otherwise, he was unharmed.
The Power Sword in his hand was still humming, the Energy Force Field on the blade emitting a buzz.
Behind him, over a dozen Ultramarines surged into the Bridge, their Bolters pointed at the remaining Fengqi officers.
"It is a pity, Olaf,"
Guilliman's voice came through his helmet.
"Your 'Final Protocol' is too late."
Olaf looked at the destroyed Control Console; the explosion had damaged the activation circuit.
The Final Protocol could not be activated.
Olaf slowly turned around to face Guilliman.
His three eyes calmly sized up the Primarch.
"So, you truly dared to come. I admit, I underestimated your... recklessness."
"It is not recklessness, it is confidence."
Guilliman removed his helmet.
"Now, do you have any final words?"
The Fengqi officers on the Bridge all raised their weapons, but it was meaningless.
The Adjutant blocked Olaf, raising the weapon in his hand.
Olaf pushed the Adjutant aside and walked in front of Guilliman.
Although his height was only half that of the Primarch, his spine was held straight.
"My final words are: You won today, Guilliman. You killed me and destroyed the Oathkeeper fleet. But you lost the war."
Guilliman raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
"Because from today on, every Fengqi person will know that the Primarch of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance will personally board an enemy ship about to self-destruct, just because he could not stand being told he was 'not as powerful as other Primarchs'."
Olaf began to laugh unscrupulously.
"They will know your weakness, Guilliman. Your pride, your sensitivity, your craving for validation. They will use this in countless battles in the future."
Guilliman's expression did not change, and Olaf continued.
"Moreover, what you displayed today is not strength, it is fear. You are afraid of being underestimated, afraid of being considered 'unworthy' to be ranked alongside other Primarchs.
So you must prove yourself, must display force in the most dramatic way possible.
But the truly strong do not need to prove themselves, Guilliman. The truly strong... know who they are."
