Chapter 1154: Rapid Occupation

~6 min read 1,049 words

Malcolm closed his eyes.

"I... I will cooperate."

He connected to the last remaining internal wired communication, his voice trembling as he spoke.

"This is Logistics Director Malcolm... all Fengqi troops take note... drop your weapons, cease resistance... repeat... drop your weapons... cease resistance..."

The order was issued.

In every corner of Nankang Star, soldiers listened to this command in disbelief, but seeing the destruction of the Orbital Defense Platform and feeling the paralysis of the communication network, most chose to obey.

The fate of the few stubborn units was quickly decided by the Iron Hands.

Main Warehouse Area, Third Defensive Position.

Guardian Commander Kailasi watched the drop pods descending from the sky, flames of fury burning in his three eyes.

Under his command were five thousand Guardian Super Soldiers and twenty thousand Fengqi soldiers, guarding the largest ammunition depot on Nankang Star.

"Prepare to engage!"

Kailasi roared into the field communication device that was still functional.

"These enemies want to take our supplies! We must not let them succeed!"

Not far away, Thunderhawk Gunships flew in, drop pods descended from the sky, smashed into the ground, and the hatches opened.

Iron Hands warriors poured out and immediately established a defensive line.

Every Iron Hands Space Marine knew their position, their target, and their fire sector.

"Fire!"

Kailasi ordered.

Energy beams and live ammunition were fired at the Iron Hands line, but most were deflected by the armor of the Power Armor.

The Iron Hands' counterattack was far more lethal; every burst of the Bolters hit heads or hearts with precision, Meltaguns evaporated enemies behind cover, and Plasma Cannons turned entire areas into slag.

Thirty seconds, the first line of defense collapsed.

"Retreat into the warehouse! Use the terrain!"

Kailasi led the remnants into the massive storage building.

Tons of Rune Bullets, Missiles, and Energy Batteries were stacked here; theoretically, the enemy would not dare use heavy firepower, or it would trigger a chain explosion.

But the Iron Hands clearly did not think so.

Three Iron Hands Space Marines wearing Terminator Power Armor walked over with heavy steps.

At the same time, small drones appeared in the sky, spraying a kind of silver mist into the warehouse.

"What is that?"

A soldier screamed.

The silver mist touched the ammunition crates and immediately solidified, forming a metal shell that completely encased the explosives.

"Sealant..."

Kailasi recognized this technology, and his heart turned cold.

This was technology theoretically still in the laboratory stage, capable of instantly encapsulating dangerous materials to prevent them from being detonated or leaking.

The Iron Hands were not afraid to use heavy firepower; they had come prepared.

"Commander! We are surrounded! All exits are blocked! They are... they are using some kind of Sonic Weapon to disintegrate the walls!"

The alloy walls of the warehouse began to resonate, emitting high-frequency noise, and then shattered.

Kailasi watched as the walls peeled away piece by piece, revealing the Iron Hands Space Marines lined up outside.

"Surrender, or die."

Ferrus's voice echoed in the warehouse.

Kailasi raised his Energy Rifle.

"Guardians never surrender!"

Fire.

The energy beam hit Ferrus's chest plate, leaving only a shallow scorch mark.

Ferrus did not even dodge.

He took a step forward, manipulated his mechanical arm to lift, and opened his palm.

A silver beam shot from his palm, hitting Kailasi's helmet.

In an instant, his tactical visor was flooded with countless garbled characters, his auditory sensors were filled with sharp noise, and even the Servo System of his Power Armor began to twitch uncontrollably.

"Neural Interference Pulse."

Ferrus explained calmly.

"A specific frequency targeting Fengqi Guardian Armor. Now, your armor has become your cage."

Kailasi struggled to move, but the armor was completely Out of Control, pinning him in place.

He could only watch helplessly as Ferrus approached and watched the Primarch raise his Power Hammer.

"Courageous, but foolish."

Ferrus evaluated.

"You could have surrendered and let your subordinates live. Now, they must all die."

The Power Hammer fell, smashing into the ground at his feet.

The shockwave spread from the point of impact, the ground undulating like the surface of water, knocking everyone standing to the ground.

Immediately after, the Iron Hands Space Marines opened fire, picking off every target that was still moving.

Thirty seconds later, there was no one left standing in the warehouse except the Iron Hands.

Ferrus looked at the corpses covering the floor, his eyes devoid of emotion.

"Clear the battlefield and inventory the supplies. Use sealant to cover all hazardous materials and prepare for transport."

Ferrus walked toward the warehouse's control center, and his mechanical arm reconnected to the system.

Data streams scrolled by as the entire storage facility's inventory list, distribution map, and transport records were all downloaded.

"40% of the supplies for the Fengqi Sixth Star Sector..."

Jialage walked to Ferrus's side to report.

"Without these, their counter-attack fleet won't last long."

"That is exactly part of the plan."

Ferrus closed the data interface.

"Sever the main artery and let the enemy bleed to death. It is more efficient than a frontal battle."

Ferrus turned to look outside the warehouse.

The entire Nankang Star had been basically brought under control; the few remaining resistance strongholds were being cleared, and most of the garrison had chosen to surrender.

Time since the start of the war: two hours and seventeen minutes.

Iron Hands losses: nine killed in action, twenty-one wounded.

Approximately 40% of the enemy forces killed, 60% captured. Supplies seized: preliminary estimates suggest enough to sustain thirty warships in combat for six months.

"Report to Father."

Ferrus gave the order.

"At the same time, notify Guilliman: the supply line has been severed, he can fight with peace of mind."

The *Tie Zhi*.

When Ferrus returned to the flagship, the technical team had already begun analyzing the captured Fengqi technology.

In the main laboratory, a dismantled Guardian Power Armor lay on the analysis table, surrounded by various scanning instruments and data screens.

"Father, the preliminary analysis is complete."

Chief Technical Officer Luosita reported.

"Fengqi's Guardian Armor is based on a combination of biological enhancement and mechanical exoskeleton; the power source is a miniature Anti-matter Reactor, with considerable output power but low efficiency. The armor's defensive rating is inferior to our Mark. 2 model, but it is 23% heavier."
