Chapter 1178: Valken Takes Precautions
Yingzhou carefully read the detailed files of every assassin.
"After you arrive at Feng Qi Xing, how will you transmit intelligence? How will you maintain contact? How will you ensure you are not discovered?"
A-1 pulled up another interface.
"Multi-layered communication system. First layer: public legal channels. Disguised as commercial communications, family letters, and public reports, within which encrypted information is hidden."
Second layer: secret physical delivery. Encrypted data packets are delivered through pre-set dead drops, intermediaries, and unmanned equipment.
Third layer: emergency protocol. If facing the risk of exposure, the assassin will initiate a self-destruct sequence while sending a final alert."
Yingzhou nodded and said.
"I approve all plans. Begin the final stage of training. Five days from now, Luojia will release the propaganda video. At the same time, the first batch of assassins will begin 'returning' to Feng Qi Xing."
"As you command, Your Majesty."
Five days later, Fengqi Star Alliance core region Command Center.
Commander-in-Chief Valken stood before the holographic table in the tactical Meeting Room, his face ashen.
He was surrounded by over a dozen high-ranking generals and political figures, including a representative of the Saladin Family, old Saladin himself.
The Meeting Room was playing Luojia's video in the center.
When the footage reached the part where the "captives" were moved to tears, a young general could not help but curse.
"Traitors! These spineless cowards have been brainwashed by the Human!"
"Quiet."
Valken's voice was not loud, but it made the entire Meeting Room go silent instantly.
The video finished playing.
"Forged. It is all forged. The 'medical bay' background in the footage is too clean, like a set; the performance of those 'captives' is overly idealized; most importantly, we have never received any reports regarding captives being treated well.
On the contrary, information obtained from various channels indicates that our prisoners of war have suffered inhumane treatment at the hands of the Human. This only proves that the Human are playing psychological games."
Valken interrupted him.
"Attempting to disintegrate our morale and create internal divisions."
"But some of my troops have already seen this video. Soldiers are discussing it in private: why is the enemy so good to the captives? If we are captured, will we also receive this kind of treatment?"
"Suppress it!"
A radical general roared.
"Anyone who spreads or discusses this video shall be treated as guilty of treason!"
"That will only make more people curious."
Old Saladin sneered.
"The more you forbid it, the more they will want to know what is in the video."
The Meeting Room fell into an argument.
Valken listened quietly, his three eyes scanning everyone present in turn.
The timing of this video's appearance was too coincidental.
It came right after the disastrous defeat at the Fengkao Shield, right when military morale was unstable, and right when the Saladin Family began to question his leadership...
"Quiet."
He spoke again.
The arguing stopped.
"Intelligence Department, I want you to do three things."
Valken began to issue orders.
"First, analyze every detail of the video to find evidence of forgery.
Second, monitor all communication channels to track the source and path of the video's spread.
Third, investigate our internal ranks to see if anyone is cooperating with the Human propaganda."
"Yes, Commander-in-Chief."
"Border defense forces, if any Fengqi claiming to be 'escaped captives' appear, take them into custody immediately and conduct the strictest screening. I suspect there are Human spies mixed among them."
"Understood."
"Finally, Lord Saladin, I need your family's cooperation. If any family members are 'released' and return, please notify the military immediately so we can conduct a joint screening."
Old Saladin's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Is the Commander-in-Chief suspecting that members of my family will defect?"
"I suspect everyone."
Valken said frankly.
"In times of war, caution is necessary."
The two looked at each other, and finally, old Saladin nodded.
"Very well. But the screening must be conducted with family representatives present. People of the Saladin Family cannot be interrogated unilaterally by the military."
"Agreed."
The meeting ended.
The generals left one after another, leaving only Valken and his trusted Adjutant.
"Commander-in-Chief, do you really think captives will escape?"
The Adjutant asked in a low voice.
"They will. And there must be Human spies among them. The question is: how many? Who are they? What is their objective?"
"How are we going to find them?"
"Wait for them to make a mistake themselves. A perfect disguise does not exist. As long as they act, they will leave traces. And all we need to do is set the net and wait."
He pulled up an encrypted file titled: "Talos Project: Phase Two Preparations."
"Additionally, notify the 'Mirror Rift' that the plan is being moved forward. We need more powerful weapons to deal with the Human psychological warfare and the true offensive that is coming."
"Will the Speaker agree?"
"She must agree. Because if the Humans win, the Fengqi Star Alliance is finished."
