Chapter 1274: Testing His Son
In the palace of the Second Prince Kesuosi, the atmosphere was completely different.
"Tailakesi? Father really knows how to pick a place."
His strategist asked.
"Does His Highness think the Third Prince will succeed?"
Kesuosi thought for a moment.
"Not necessarily. That place, Tailakesi, has terrain that is too complex. A frontal assault won't work, and they won't listen to negotiations. Although the Third Brother has studied Human tactics, they might not be effective."
He paused.
"However, if he can succeed, that would be troublesome."
The strategist asked.
"What does His Highness intend to do?"
Kesuosi stood up and walked to the window.
"Let him struggle. If he succeeds, we will think of a way. If he fails, Father will naturally be disappointed."
He turned around and looked at the strategist.
"However, we can send people to keep an eye on his movements."
The strategist nodded.
"Understood."
In the palace of the Fourth Prince Keweinuosi, the atmosphere was the calmest.
Keweinuosi sat at his desk, looking at the report in his hand, his expression unchanged.
The Adjutant asked.
"Your Highness, the Third Prince is going to Tailakesi. What is your take on this?"
Keweinuosi put down the report.
"Father is testing him."
The Adjutant was stunned for a moment.
"Testing?"
Keweinuosi nodded.
"Tailakesi has not been conquered for many years, not because it is strong, but because it is difficult. Father wants to see if the Third Brother can solve this problem."
The Adjutant asked.
"Does Your Highness think the Third Prince can succeed?"
Keweinuosi thought for a moment.
"I don't know. But regardless of success or failure, there will be a good show to watch."
He stood up and walked to the window.
"If he succeeds, Father will value him even more. If he fails, Father will be disappointed. But no matter the result, it will affect the competition for the throne."
Three days later, the fleet of Kesi assembled in the orbit of Keluo Nuo Si.
Kesi stood on the Bridge of the flagship "Dark Blade," looking at the dense formation of warships outside the window.
A total of three hundred Capital Ships, five hundred Auxiliary Ships, two million Kraken warriors, and fifty million Keluoke soldiers.
"Your Highness, the detailed intelligence on Tailakesi has arrived."
Kesi browsed through it quickly.
The Taisilaikesi Zi You Ling is located on the eastern border of the Keluoke Imperium and consists of three planets.
The main planet is Tailakesi, and the two satellites are Norn and Weida.
The total population is about eight billion, with the Tailakesi race accounting for ninety percent.
Physical characteristics of the Tailakesi race: skin is light blue, stature is short but extremely agile, with an average height of only 1.5 meters. They are famous for being adept at guerrilla warfare, using complex terrain to maneuver around enemies.
Every Governor for the past three hundred years has attempted to conquer Tailakesi, but all have failed.
It is not because they could not defeat them, but because they could not find the enemy's main force at all.
The Tailakesi people hide in complex underground cave systems and suddenly strike when the enemy forces are exhausted.
After reading, Kesi's mouth curled upward.
"Interesting."
The fleet began to warp toward Tailakesi.
On the Bridge, Kesi sat in the command chair, watching the distorted warp light outside the window.
"Your Highness, we have sent people to keep an eye on the movements of the three princes."
"What are they doing?"
"The First Prince has done nothing, only sent people to watch our movements. The Second Prince is much the same, but seems to have contact with several Governors on the border. The Fourth Prince... has done nothing, not even looking."
"Keweinuosi is indeed the smartest."
"Why does Your Highness say that?"
"Because he knows that it is too early to do anything now. It won't be too late to observe once we arrive at Tailakesi and begin our operations."
"Your Highness, what shall we do?"
"Let them watch. Once we take Tailakesi, we will see their reactions."
She leaned back in her chair.
"Three months. That is enough time."
Outside the window, the warp light continued to flow.
The fleet was sailing toward Tailakesi.
On the same day, deep within the Imperial City.
Keluoke Ershisi Shi stood before the window, watching the fleet moving away in orbit. That was the fleet of Kesi, heading toward the direction of Taisilaikesi.
The butler stood to one side, saying nothing.
"Do you think he can succeed?" Keluoke Ershisi Shi asked suddenly.
The butler was stunned for a moment.
"Your Majesty, are you asking this old servant?"
Keluoke Ershisi Shi turned to look at him.
"Is there anyone else here?"
The butler thought for a moment.
"This old servant dares not speculate recklessly."
Keluoke Ershisi Shi laughed.
"Dare not? Or do you not want to say?"
The butler lowered his head.
Keluoke Ershisi Shi walked back to the desk and sat down.
"For three hundred years, Taisilaikesi has always been a thorn in my side. Every successive Governor has failed, and I have grown too lazy to care. But this time..."
He paused.
"I want to see what that good-for-nothing son can actually turn into."
The butler asked cautiously.
"Your Majesty, do you have high hopes for the Third Prince?"
Keluoke Ershisi Shi shook his head.
"It is not high hopes, it is curiosity."
He leaned back in his chair.
"A person, in one month, can change that much? I do not believe it. But he has indeed changed, and he has changed in a way that surprises me."
His four eyes stared out the window.
"So I gave him this Task. Let him go to Taisilaikesi, let him go and prove it."
Xiuluo Holy Star, Yingzhou's study.
The morning sunlight spilled in through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Yingzhou sat before the desk, his gaze resting on the encrypted report before him.
That was intelligence transmitted from deep within the Imperium, passing through the secret channels of Kalidusi, winding through several transit stations, and finally arriving at Xiuluo Holy Star.
The report was sent by y-7.
Selina's holographic projection floated quietly in the corner of the room, her data streams pulsing rapidly, translating the content of the intelligence into a format that Yingzhou could read directly.
"Keluoke Ershisi Shi has handed the conquest Task of the Taisilaikesi Free Territory to 'Kesi', requiring it to be taken within three months. The fleet has currently departed."
Yingzhou set down his teacup, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly.
"Interesting."
He leaned back in his chair, his gaze passing through the window and landing on the distant skyline.
"This Keluoke Ershisi Shi is testing his son."
Selina's voice sounded.
"Your Majesty, what do you mean?"
Yingzhou said.
"The Taisilaikesi Free Territory has not been conquered for many years; the terrain is complex, easy to defend and difficult to attack. He gave this Task to Kesi, which shows he wants to see how much capability Kesi actually has."
"He wants to see if Kesi was hiding his true colors before."
He paused, a glimmer of profound light flashing in his eyes.
"Moreover, he wants to see the reactions of the other three princes. Kelake, Kesuosi, and Keweinuosi, how will those three respond?"
Selina asked.
"Your Majesty, then what about y-7's side? She is going to conquer Taisilaikesi, if she fails..."
Yingzhou shook his head.
"She will not fail. I trust y-7's ability. Besides, her current identity is Kesi, a 'good-for-nothing prince' who just returned from the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance. If she loses, it is normal. If she wins, that is what would be a surprise."
"Let her go. A place like Taisilaikesi is just right for her to display her talents. If a frontal assault won't work, then use strategy. If you can't win head-on, then use assassination. These are all things Kalidusi excels at."
He turned, looking at Selina.
"Notify y-7, the Task continues. If she encounters difficulties, she may use all resources. But there is one condition: she must not expose her identity."
Selina nodded.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
