Chapter 1304: The Weeping Legion Heads to the Shattered Star Belt

~6 min read 1,143 words

Three days later, on the east side of the Shattered Star Belt, at the "Iron Gate" entrance.

A small scout ship was hidden in the shadow of an asteroid.

The ship was not large, only thirty meters long, painted dark gray, and almost blended in with the surrounding rocks.

The ship's sensors were fully active, scanning every signal entering the Shattered Star Belt.

The captain was a Lizardman, his three eyes narrowed into slits as he stared at the holographic screen.

"Any movement?" he asked.

The Communications Officer shook his head.

"None. Not even a ghost of a shadow."

The captain frowned.

"What is the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance doing? Didn't they say the fleet was coming?"

The Communications Officer thought for a moment.

"Perhaps they are still preparing? After all, after finishing off the Feng Qi Xing Alliance, the fleet needs to rest and refit."

The captain snorted.

"Rest and refit? Then let them rest. By the time they arrive, we will already be prepared."

He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

"Keep watching. Call me if there is a situation."

"Yes."

On the south side of the Shattered Star Belt, at the "Narrow Throat" entrance.

This place was even narrower than the "Iron Gate," with dense asteroid belts on both sides.

Any large ship passing through here had to slow down, otherwise, it would collide with the rocks.

An equally small scout ship was hidden behind an asteroid beside the shipping lane.

The captain was a mutant, his compound eyes rotating constantly as he observed the movement around him.

"Boss, there's a signal."

The Communications Officer said suddenly.

The mutant captain turned his head.

"What signal?"

The Communications Officer pointed to a light spot on the screen.

"Two ships. Medium-sized, moving very slowly. They look like... transport ships."

A flicker of excitement flashed in the mutant captain's compound eyes.

"Just two?"

The Communications Officer nodded.

"Just two."

The mutant captain thought for a moment.

"They might not be from the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance. They could be remnants of the Feng Qi Xing Alliance, or from a merchant fleet."

The Communications Officer asked.

"Then should we notify Waluoke?"

The mutant captain shook his head.

"No rush. Let's see first. If they really are transport ships, we'll handle it ourselves. Why share with others?"

The Communications Officer hesitated for a moment.

"Waluoke said that if we discover a situation, we must report it immediately..."

The mutant captain looked at him.

"Are you listening to him, or listening to me?"

The Communications Officer lowered his head.

"Listening to you."

The mutant captain smiled.

"Good. Once that ship gets closer, we'll move."

Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance, Emperor's study.

Yingzhou sat before the desk, in front of him was the red area marked "Shattered Star Belt" on the Holographic Star Map.

Guilliman stood beside him.

"Father, the fleet is ready."

Yingzhou nodded.

"Those pirates, what is their reaction?"

Guilliman said.

"According to intelligence, they are gathering.

Waluoke has summoned all the pirate leaders and formulated a guerrilla warfare plan.

They intend to use the complex terrain of the Shattered Star Belt to disperse and hide, harass our fleet, and raid our transport ships."

The corners of Yingzhou's mouth lifted slightly.

"They think we are the Feng Qi Xing Alliance."

Guilliman nodded.

"Yes. They have overestimated themselves and underestimated us."

Yingzhou stood up and walked to the window.

"Then let them know the price of underestimating us."

He turned around and looked at Guilliman.

"Tell the Fleet Commander, let them know the difference between the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance and the Feng Qi Xing Alliance."

Guilliman nodded.

"Understood."

Yingzhou continued.

"Put the matter of the transport ships aside for now. Tell them not to take the Shattered Star Belt route recently. Taking a detour and spending a few more days is better than being robbed."

Guilliman said.

"It has already been notified. The transport ships have also changed their routes."

Yingzhou nodded.

"Good. Go."

Guilliman turned and left.

Shattered Star Belt, Nest of the Faithless.

Waluoke stood in the Command Center, staring at the dense signals of scout ships on the holographic star map.

It had been three days, and the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance fleet had made no move.

"Are they coming or not?"

The deputy asked.

Waluoke frowned.

"They will come. They definitely will. It is only a matter of time."

The deputy asked.

"Then we just wait like this?"

Waluoke looked at him.

"What else can we do if we don't wait? Go out and find them? If we go out, our advantage will be gone."

The deputy fell into silence.

Waluoke turned and looked at the star map.

"They will definitely come."

Outside the Shattered Star Belt, two ships of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance floated quietly in the starry sky.

The hulls were slender and elegant, with lines like works of art; every curve had been meticulously designed.

The surfaces of the hulls were engraved with holy runes and prayers, glowing faintly in the darkness.

The emblem on the prow was a bleeding heart.

Weepers Chapter.

A successor chapter of the Blood Angels, known for their tenacity and tragic fate.

On the bridge of the flagship, Chapter Master Sebastian Actus stood before the viewing window, looking at the dense asteroid belt in the distance.

He wore yellow Power Armor, with the emblem of the Weepers engraved on his shoulder pad. His face was resolute and weathered, his short golden hair neatly combed back.

Behind him, Adjutant Flavius was staring at the holographic star map, his brows tightly furrowed.

"My lord, the terrain of the Shattered Star Belt is more complex than the intelligence suggested."

Flavius spoke.

"The width of the channel at the entrance of the Shattered Star Belt is less than two kilometers, with dense asteroids on both sides. Our Capital Ships cannot enter at all."

Actus did not turn back.

"What about the other entrances?"

Flavius pulled up another set of data.

"The channel on the south side is even narrower, with the widest point being only 1.5 kilometers. Although the 'Ash Corridor' on the west side is wider, the asteroid density is extremely high; for a ship to enter is like dancing on the tip of a blade. Unless those asteroids are blown up, no Capital Ship can pass through."

Actus fell silent.

The bridge became quiet, with only the humming of instruments and the faint electromagnetic interference coming from the distant Shattered Star Belt.

"Blow them up."

Actus finally spoke, his voice calm.

Flavius was stunned.

"My lord, what do you mean?"

Actus turned around and looked at him.

"Use the ship-mounted batteries to blow them up one by one. Blast open the channel, clear the obstacles, and tear a hole in the Shattered Star Belt. Then, our fleet will be able to enter."
