Chapter 1313: Shattered Star Belt, No Survivors Left

~6 min read 1,098 words

Three Thunderhawk Gunships lunged toward the pirate fleet from different directions.

Fifth Company Captain Karakesi stood by the hatch of the lead Thunderhawk, a Bolter gripped in his hand.

"First target, the lead Frigate."

His voice emanated from his helmet.

"Second target, the transport ship on the left. Third target, the supply ship on the right."

The warriors behind him responded in unison.

"For those we cherish!"

"We go to our glorious death!"

The Thunderhawks accelerated toward the pirate fleet.

The pirates' gun turrets began to fire.

Energy Beams poured down like a rainstorm, carving blinding trajectories across the starry sky.

The Thunderhawk Gunships wove through the barrage, closing in rapidly.

The first Thunderhawk struck the broadside of the Shadow.

Magnetic Locks clamped onto the hull, the Thunderhawk's hatch exploded, and they began cutting through the outer shell.

Zelike watched the yellow figures boarding on the sensor screen, his three eyes filled with despair.

"They're on board... they're on board..."

The Adjutant's voice was trembling.

Zelike turned abruptly and grabbed the Adjutant by the collar.

"Gather everyone! Block them in the corridor!"

The Adjutant shook his head.

"We can't block them! Captain! We can't beat them!"

Zelike took a step back.

"Then... then what do we do?"

The Adjutant looked at him.

"Run. Run from the escape pods. Let's run before they get here."

"Run? Run where?"

The Adjutant said.

"The Shattered Star Belt is so big, there's always a place to hide. We'll come back out after they leave."

Zelike gritted his teeth.

"Fine. Go."

He turned and ran toward the escape pods.

The other pirates on the Bridge looked at each other, then followed him as they ran.

But just as they reached the entrance to the escape pods, a yellow figure appeared at the end of the corridor.

Karakesi stood there, a blood-dripping Chainsword gripped in his hand.

"Alien!"

The pirates stopped in their tracks, their eyes filled with terror.

Zelike took a step back and slammed into the wall.

"I... I surrender... I am willing to surrender..."

Karakesi looked at him.

"The Emperor does not accept the surrender of aliens."

Zelike screamed and raised his Energy Pistol to fire.

The Energy Beam struck Karakesi's Power Armor, splashing only a few sparks.

Karakesi walked up to him and looked down at him.

"For the Emperor!"

On the other side of the Shattered Star Belt, a pirate scout ship hovered in the asteroid belt.

It was one of the most inconspicuous ships in the Shattered Star Belt, its Task to monitor movement at the entrance of the Narrow Throat.

The captain was a Lizardman named Sikeweisi.

He had been squatting here for several days, staring at the sensor screen, waiting for the fleet of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance to appear.

After learning that the Nest of the Faithless had been purged by the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance, Sikeweisi was just thinking about how to escape when a red light lit up on the screen.

Sikeweisi saw the light spots on the sensor screen and thought they were meteorites.

By the time he confirmed they were small gunships, it was already too late.

A Thunderhawk clamped onto the hull, the hatch exploded, and yellow figures jumped out.

Sikeweisi slumped in the command chair, his eyes fixed on the doorway.

Third Company Captain Akertusi walked in, a blood-dripping Chainsword gripped in his hand.

He looked down at the Lizardman.

Sikeweisi raised his head, looking at him, wanting to die with some backbone.

"Kill me then."

Akertusi looked at him.

"Not running?"

Sikeweisi shook his head.

"You can't run. You are too slow."

Akertusi asked.

"Are you the captain of this ship?"

Sikeweisi nodded.

"Yes."

"Where is your crew?"

Sikeweisi pointed to the cabin next door.

"They are all over there."

"It's a pity, you are an Alien."

Having said that, Akertusi's Chainsword fell.

On the east side of the Shattered Star Belt, near the entrance of the "Iron Gate".

Sixth Company Commander Masike stood by the cabin door of the Thunderhawk, staring at the sensor screen.

His yellow Power Armor was covered in blood, left over from when he had just finished clearing out a pirate outpost.

"Company Commander, a pirate ship has been detected ahead. It is heading toward the entrance. Its speed is very fast."

Masike looked at the light dot on the screen.

"Just one?"

"Just one. The others... might have already run away."

"Chase it. Do not let it get away."

The Thunderhawk Gunship accelerated toward that pirate ship.

It was a medium-sized transport ship, and its speed was not fast.

It was clearly trying to escape with all its might, the engine power already pushed to the maximum, but compared to the Thunderhawk Gunship, it was still too slow.

Masike's Thunderhawk Gunship caught up to it.

In the corridor, several pirates were running.

Seeing Masike rush in, their eyes widened simultaneously.

"Monsters of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance!!!"

The Bolter rang out.

Three bolter rounds, three pirates fell.

Makusi continued to walk forward.

The door to the Bridge was blown open.

The Sota captain slumped in the command chair, four arms hanging limply at his sides.

"You... what do you want after all... our ship... our cargo... we can give it all to you..."

Masike walked up to him and looked down at him.

"We don't want your ship, we don't want your cargo."

The Sota's pupils contracted violently.

"Then... then what do you want?"

Makusi looked at him.

"Your lives."

The Chainsword fell.

In the ruins of the Nest of the Faithless, Saiweilu stood at the port and, after hearing that the Nest of the Faithless had been purged, gave the order.

"Retreat. Return to the flagship."

"Yes!"

Thunderhawk Gunships flew out of the Shattered Star Belt one after another, heading toward the flagship.

Saiweilu boarded the Thunderhawk and sat in his seat.

The pilot looked back at him.

"Company Commander, going home?"

Saiweilu nodded.

"Going home."

The Thunderhawk ascended and headed out of the Shattered Star Belt.

On the Bridge of the Weepers Chapter flagship, Akertusi stood before the Holographic Star Map, looking at those light dots representing the Shattered Star Belt.

"All companies, report casualties," he said.

Responses came one after another through the Communication Device.

"First Company, zero casualties."

"Second Company, zero casualties."

"Third Company, zero casualties."

"Fourth Company, zero casualties."

"Fifth Company, zero casualties."

"Sixth Company, zero casualties."

Akertusi synthesized the battle reports sent back by the various squads and concluded.

"The Shattered Star Belt, there are no survivors left. All companies return to the ships."

"Yes!"
