Chapter 137: Atrocities

~7 min read 1,253 words

After learning that more than 100 Orcs had escaped into that teleportation array, Yingzhou still felt some regret in his heart; however, Yingzhou did not pay too much attention to these matters, as the Orcs he had been pursuing were gone, and he had sent Catachan tough guys to follow a team of Human Alliance soldiers to pursue the scattered and retreating Orcs.

"Hoo... consider them lucky." Yingzhou exhaled, left with the Krieg soldiers, and recalled the cavalry and artillery.

Li Shuangjun looked at these muscular tough guys wearing red headbands who were following him to pursue the Beast Race; he remembered that these seemed to be the soldiers summoned by Yingzhou of the Ninth Defense Zone, right? Why were they pursuing the Beast Race with him?

"For the Emperor! F*** these aliens!"

A Catachan devil roared and opened fire on the retreating Beast Race, and the Catachan tough guys behind him also roared loudly.

"For the Emperor!"

"For the Emperor!!"

Li Shuangjun looked at this group of fanatical-eyed muscular tough guys and could not help but be infected by their atmosphere; he opened his chapped lips and shouted in a hoarse voice.

"For Humanity!"

In the end, this batch of retreating Beast Race was wiped out by Li Shuangjun leading the Human Alliance soldiers and the Catachan tough guys; those Catachan tough guys were stained red with blood, their eyes were full of murderous intent, and the tips of the half-meter-long war blades in their hands were still dripping blood onto the ground.

"Hahaha, f***, satisfying! These Orcs were actually wearing armor!"

"F***, these guys are a mess; if it weren't for the armor they were wearing, I would have taken one down with a single blade!"

This group of rough-voiced, boisterous muscular men caused the surrounding Human Alliance soldiers to look over from time to time.

"They actually fight without wearing armor!"

"You didn't see them fighting just now; they could go head-to-head with the Beast Race without falling behind."

"Really? Although their muscles are indeed very strong, those Beast Race were wearing Rune Armor, and the Beast Race themselves have no small amount of strength. Is such a thing really possible?"

"It's for real; if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes just now, I wouldn't have dared to imagine that anyone could compete with an Orc in strength."

These Human Alliance soldiers whispered to each other, and seeing this, Li Shuangjun coughed twice, "What are you talking about! We still have to go find those survivors imprisoned by the Beast Race!"

"Yes!"

Yingzhou soon found the Base Camp where the Beast Race had previously camped; from afar, Yingzhou saw some Orc figures in the camp, and a sense of unease rose in his heart.

"Quick! We must get to that camp quickly and clear out all the aliens there!"

The Krieg soldiers following behind Yingzhou, upon receiving the order, attached their 45-centimeter-long bayonets to their Lucius Pattern 98 Lasguns and followed Yingzhou as they charged toward the camp.

At this moment in the camp, the Orc warriors who had retreated saw the Two-legged Sheep locked in cages; their mouths curled into grins, and they walked quickly to the cages and opened them.

Because the cages holding the survivors were protected by Rune Power, one had to open the cage door to go in and clean out the Two-legged Sheep inside.

"It's all your fault, you damn Two-legged Sheep; we were about to win, it's all your fault!" This Orc warrior, along with several Orcs beside him, opened the cage and said angrily.

He raised the large rifle in his hand, looked at the Two-legged Sheep frantically crowding backward, and pulled the trigger.

The Two-legged Sheep in the cages fell in swathes like wheat stalks blown by the wind; in this camp, there were many more cages like this. Some Orcs, to save time, threw a few hand grenades inside after entering and then closed the cage doors, watching the Two-legged Sheep inside let out desperate screams. Accompanied by a few explosions, most of the Two-legged Sheep inside were blown to pieces; only those hiding in the back did not die immediately because the bodies of their companions in front blocked some of the damage, and some Two-legged Sheep leaned against the side of the cage, blood constantly gushing from their mouths.

"Hmph! Livestock should look like livestock; how dare they resist us!"

Seeing that the Two-legged Sheep in the cage had been mostly cleared out, this Orc snorted coldly, slung the large rifle onto its back, and prepared to head to the next cage.

Just as it turned around, it bumped into an Orc taller than itself; wait, this didn't seem to be an Orc.

It slowly looked up and saw a Two-legged Sheep taller than itself glaring at it; in the camp, a group of Two-legged Sheep wearing masks were holding weapons and firing at the Orcs in the camp.

"You deserve to die!" After entering the camp, Yingzhou saw this infuriating scene; the atrocities of these Beast Race reminded Yingzhou of some events in the modern history of his previous life, and these Beast Race were exactly the same as those animals.

The chainsword in Yingzhou's hand directly pierced the Orc's Rune Bulletproof Armor, and then the chainsword sawed fiercely, splitting the Orc in two.

The Orc's foul-smelling blood splattered all over Yingzhou; Yingzhou did not react. Seeing that the few remaining Orcs in the camp were quickly dealt with by the Krieg soldiers, he began searching for survivors in the cage where the Orc had just carried out the massacre.

In the corner of the cage, Yingzhou found a mother; her body was tightly curled up, and he did not know what she was holding in her arms. Walking closer, he realized she was holding a tiny infant in her arms. Although both had passed away, one could clearly feel her deep love and protection for the child from the mother's posture and expression.

This mother seemed to have tried her best to protect her child before she died; she curled her body into a ball, using her own flesh and blood to hold the child tightly in her arms, hoping to let the child survive. However, the cruel reality ruthlessly shattered this beautiful wish. The bullets fired from the large rifle pierced the mother's body and also hit the child in her arms.

Yingzhou stared silently at this scene, thinking: If I could have arrived here a little earlier, could I have saved these innocent lives? They could have avoided such a fate and could have lived a peaceful and happy life after the Beast Race were driven out of Earth.

But now, it was all too late. Yingzhou felt his heart was extremely heavy; he could not change what had happened in the past, but he did not want to let similar tragedies happen again.

The Krieg Commissar walked into the cage where Yingzhou was, saluted Yingzhou, and said, "Great Emperor, we have cleared out all the aliens in this camp; how should we deal with the survivors in the cages?"

"Do not bring them out yet; you all stand guard outside. If any more Beast Race come here, shoot them on sight." Yingzhou's voice was a bit low, and after confirming that all the survivors in this cage had perished, Yingzhou slowly walked out of the camp.

After about ten minutes, Yingzhou saw Xindi arriving with a team of Human Alliance soldiers.
