Chapter 1402: Is this a ship of the Dai Kong Star Alliance?
Fulgrim looked at Yingxin.
"Xiaoxiner, it is dangerous inside the ship. Let's go back, okay?"
Yingxin shook her head.
"No, I had such a hard time getting out here. I'll just take one look, one look and then I'll go back."
Fulgrim sighed.
"Ships are all about the same; you'll have a chance to see Space Marine ships later, they are much bigger than this one."
"Later is later, now is now. I want to see it now."
Yingxin tugged on Fulgrim's sleeve, looking at him pitifully.
"Brother Fuge, just one look. We'll go in and walk around once, then come right out, no one will notice."
Leman Russ fanned the flames from the side.
"Fuge, just let her look. Since we're already here, it would be a pity not to."
Fulgrim glared at Leman Russ.
"Shut up."
Leman Russ shrugged and said nothing.
Yingxin continued to shake Fulgrim's sleeve.
"Brother Fuge, you're the best. You're the best of all my brothers, ten thousand times better than Brother Leman."
"Oioioi."
Leman Russ expressed his protest.
Fulgrim shook his head helplessly.
"Ten minutes, stay for only ten minutes, then go back immediately."
Yingxin's eyes lit up.
"Okay! Ten minutes is enough!"
Leman Russ grinned.
"I knew you would agree."
"Shut up."
After saying this, Fulgrim walked toward the hatch.
Yingxin followed behind with light steps.
Leman Russ brought up the rear to avoid being discovered.
The corridor was narrow, only wide enough for one person to pass.
The walls were painted with dark gray paint, with several spots already peeling off.
"This ship is so old."
Yingxin said.
Fulgrim said.
"Alien ships are not new to begin with."
They passed through the corridor and arrived at a slightly more spacious cabin.
This was likely a cargo hold, with some empty crates piled around.
In the center of the cabin was a table, with several Data Pads scattered on it.
Yingxin ran over and picked up a Data Pad.
"What is this?"
The screen was lit, displaying text that could not be understood.
She looked at it over and over.
Fulgrim walked over and took a look.
"Alien language, put it back, it's dirty."
Yingxin put the Data Pad back on the table.
"Brother Fuge, which faction do you think these ships belong to?"
Fulgrim thought for a moment.
"Not clear, this is not something you should be concerned with."
Leman Russ waved his hand.
"Xiaoxiner is not an ordinary child, she understands everything."
Yingxin nodded.
"Right, I understand everything."
Fulgrim was helpless.
"Yes, you understand everything. Time is up, it's time to go back."
Yingxin pouted.
"It's only been five minutes, you said ten minutes."
"I said ten minutes, but the situation has changed now. If someone comes to inspect this ship, we will be discovered."
Fulgrim walked over and took her hand.
Yingxin was dragged along reluctantly.
When passing a corner, she suddenly stopped.
"Brother Fuge, there is light over there."
Fulgrim looked in the direction of her finger.
At the end of the corridor was a half-open door, from which orange light shone out.
Leman Russ walked over and pushed the door open.
"It's the cockpit."
Yingxin broke free from Fulgrim's hand and ran over.
The cockpit was not large, with a few seats and various indicator lights glowing on the console.
Through the porthole, one could see the starry sky outside.
Yingxin climbed onto the seat at the console and looked at the stars outside the porthole.
"So beautiful."
Fulgrim walked to her side.
"What's so good about looking at stars? You can see them on Xiuluo Holy Star too."
"It's different; looking at stars from a spaceship feels different."
Yingxin's eyes were sparkling.
Leman Russ sat on another chair and crossed his legs.
"Xiaoxiner, in the future, Brother will take you on a real warship; it's much better than this broken ship."
Yingxin said.
"I don't want to wait for the future, I want to go now."
"Not now."
Fulgrim said.
Yingxin did not respond.
Her gaze landed on a red button, and she reached out to touch it.
Fulgrim grabbed her hand.
"Don't touch things randomly, that is the Yinjishidonganniu; if you press it, the ship will start."
Yingxin retracted her hand.
"What will happen if it starts?"
"It will fly away."
Leman Russ said.
Yingxin tilted her head.
"Then let's fly away, and go see other planets."
Fulgrim frowned.
"Xiaoxiner, stop messing around."
Yingxin jumped off the seat and put her hands on her hips.
"I'm not messing around, I'm serious. Brother Fulgrim, you promised me just now that when I was a little older, you would take me on an interstellar trip. Now I am eleven years old, I have grown up, and we are leaving today."
Fulgrim squatted down to look Yingxin in the eye.
"Xiaoxiner, interstellar travel is not as simple as you think. We need a plan, we need preparation, we need to tell our family; we can't just sneak off like this."
Yingxin lowered her head.
"But if I tell my family, they won't let me go."
"Right, so you can't go."
Fulgrim stood up.
Yingxin's eye sockets turned red, and she bit her lip.
"Brother Fulgrim, do you not like me?"
Fulgrim was stunned.
"How could that be?"
"Then why do you never agree to my requests? I want to go on an interstellar trip, you say wait until I'm older. I want to look at the stars, you say I can see them on Xiuluo Holy Star too. I want to go on a spaceship to look around, you say it's dangerous."
Yingxin's voice carried a sense of grievance.
"Do you not want to accompany me?"
"No, Xiaoxiner, I didn't mean that."
"Then what do you mean?"
Yingxin raised her head, tears swirling in her eyes.
"Mom won't let me go, Brother Angron won't let me go, and you won't let me go either. Am I wrong?"
Fulgrim looked at Leman Russ.
Leman Russ spread his hands.
"Don't look at me, I never refuse her."
Fulgrim opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out.
This little girl's tears were fake; she did this every time she wanted to achieve her goal.
But Fulgrim still couldn't refuse her.
Leman Russ spread his hands opposite them with an expression that said "it has nothing to do with me."
Just then, a burst of footsteps came from the direction of the cabin door.
Fulgrim's expression changed.
He grabbed Yingxin with one hand and Leman Russ's arm with the other, dragging both of them toward the depths of the corridor.
Leman Russ had not yet reacted when he was yanked, stumbling.
"What are you..."
"Shut up."
Fulgrim lowered his voice.
The three of them flashed into a cabin behind the corridor corner.
The cabin looked like a Storage Room; Fulgrim pushed Yingxin to the very back, while he and Leman Russ blocked the front.
The sound of footsteps grew closer.
Several sets of footsteps walked into the cabin next door.
"Finished checking?"
A voice rang out, carrying the unique accent of the Daikong Star Alliance.
It was not exactly familiar, but it could be distinguished.
Another voice replied.
"Check complete, engines are normal, fuel is sufficient, navigation system has been calibrated, ready for takeoff at any time."
"Mm, wait for the personnel from the Waijiaoqu to return before leaving."
The first voice asked again.
"Lord Weilakesi, how do you think the Emperor will deal with those three factions?"
Weilakesi, the head of the Daikong Star Alliance delegation; have we boarded a ship of the Daikong Star Alliance?
Fulgrim's brows furrowed.
Weilakesi said.
"The Sargon Free Territory, the Zelar Commercial Alliance, and the Viridian United Kingdom—all three factions are finished. The Emperor will not let them go, and the fleet of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance will set out within a few days. Remember, do not provoke the Emperor, do not provoke his sons, and do not provoke the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance.
The Daikong Star Alliance has signed a Non-Aggression Treaty with the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance; as long as we do not provoke them, the treaty remains valid. But if any of you cause trouble on the territory of the Xiuluo Holy Star, the Daikong Star Alliance will not come to save you."
"Lord Weilakesi, I didn't mean to cause trouble. I was just asking."
Weilakesi said.
"Asking is fine, but remember, this is the Xiuluo Holy Star, not Daikong; do not provoke the Emperor of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance."
