Chapter 1409: The Daikong Star Alliance Coup (1)
Serafen stood on the top floor of the military headquarters, looking at the holographic star map.
The star map marked the assembly positions of the fleets, with coordinates and times noted for every fleet.
The Adjutant stood at the doorway.
"General, the Fleet Commanders have arrived."
Serafen nodded.
"Let them in."
The door opened, and over a dozen high-ranking officers walked in.
Serafen looked around at them without sitting down.
"The Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance fleet is stationed at our Spaceport, with their ship guns aimed at our Capital Star. Kewake only knows how to compromise; the dignity of the Daikong Star Alliance has been lost in their hands, but I will not allow it."
An elderly officer spoke up.
"General, the military strength of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance far exceeds our own. If we fail..."
Serafen interrupted him.
"If we fail, we are merely back to where we are now. If we succeed, the Daikong Star Alliance will be its own master. Are you willing to gamble?"
There was a moment of silence in the Meeting Room, and a young officer spoke first.
"I will follow the General."
The others nodded one after another.
Serafen said.
"Good. Once the fleet assembly is complete, we will split into three routes.
The first route will control the Spaceport and blockade the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance fleet.
The second route will occupy the Diplomatic Committee building and arrest Kewake.
The third route will control the Communications Center and announce to the entire Star Alliance that we will not let the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance occupy our home."
The Adjutant pulled up the star map.
"General, the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance garrison at the Spaceport has five regiments. Their firepower is very strong; a frontal assault will result in heavy losses."
Serafen said.
"Then bypass their defensive lines and directly control the key facilities of the Spaceport. Their fleet is at the berths; as long as we don't let them take off, our Task will be half complete."
The Adjutant nodded.
"Understood."
Serafen continued.
"In eight hours, we act in unison. Go back and prepare now."
The officers stood at attention, turned, and left.
On the outskirts of the Spaceport, the rebel fleet began to assemble.
Capital Ships sailed in from various bases and lined up at the predetermined coordinates.
On the Bridge of one Capital Ship, the Captain looked at the holographic star map.
His name was Vilachade; he was burly, with an old scar on his face.
The Adjutant walked over.
"Sir, the fleet has finished assembling."
Vilachade nodded and said.
"Order the fleet into attack formation. Target: the outer defensive line of the Spaceport."
The Adjutant stood at attention.
"Yes."
The fleet started its engines and sailed toward the Spaceport.
On the outskirts of the Spaceport, the defense forces of the Daikong Star Alliance had entered a state of combat readiness.
They had received news that the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance fleet was going to attack the Daikong Star Alliance, and they had to strike first.
The soldiers stared nervously at the sensor screens; a young soldier asked the veteran next to him.
"Didn't the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance sign a non-aggression pact with us?"
"I don't know, but the order has come down, so we must execute it."
Just then, the sensor screen lit up, and the defense team Adjutant shouted.
"Sir, a large number of ships have been detected in orbit. It's our fleet."
The Commander frowned.
"Our fleet? What are they doing here? We received no notification."
The Communication Device rang.
"This is the Independent Fleet. By order of General Serafen, we are taking over the defense of the Spaceport. Please stand aside."
The Commander's pupils contracted.
"Serafen? But this is against regulations!"
"There are no regulations! We are saving the Daikong Star Alliance! If you do not cooperate, then you are a traitor!"
"No! This is a rebellion!"
The Commander pressed the alarm button directly.
The Spaceport's defense system activated, and the turrets turned toward the rebel fleet.
The rebel fleet did not slow down, and Vilachade gave the order.
"All ships, fire. Target: the Defense Turrets."
During the first volley, Energy Beam hit the gun emplacements, the fire of the explosions blooming in space; the defense forces returned fire, but the rebel fleet was too numerous, and the gun emplacements were destroyed one after another.
The Commander pressed the Communication Device.
"Headquarters, the Spaceport is under attack by rebels! Requesting support!"
Static came from the Communication Device; the rebels had already jammed the communication channels.
The soldiers began to panic.
"Sir, what do we do?"
The Commander gritted his teeth.
"Fight! They have already betrayed the Daikong Star Alliance!"
On the ground of the Spaceport, the camp of the Cadian Shock Troops.
The sound of explosions came from orbit, and the Cadian soldiers rushed out of the barracks and formed ranks.
Colonel Akadi stood in the center of the camp, looking at the sky.
"What is going on?"
The Communications Officer ran over.
"Sir, the Daikong Star Alliance fleet is attacking itself; it seems to be a rebellion."
Akadi frowned.
"A rebellion? At a time like this?"
The Communications Officer said.
"The rebels' target is the Spaceport; they want to blockade our fleet."
Akadi pressed the Communication Device.
"All units, enter defensive positions; if those Alien dare to come, then make them regret making such a decision!"
The Cadian soldiers entered their positions, and the gun emplacements turned toward the sky.
The squad of the Lucifer Black Guard stood guard near the flagship, protecting the safety of the Primarchs.
The defense forces on the outskirts of the Spaceport began to crumble under the rebels' fierce attack.
Vilachade stood on the Bridge.
"Report losses."
The Adjutant reported.
"Losses are seven Capital Ship and fifteen Auxiliary Ship. The defense forces have crumbled, and the outskirts of the Spaceport are under control."
Laku said.
"Advance toward the ground, occupy the Spaceport, and blockade the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance fleet."
The fleet descended toward the planet's surface.
Capital Star Olivia, four o'clock in the morning.
The city sky was lit up by firelight, the sound of explosions coming from afar; the residents were startled awake from their sleep and ran to the windows to look out.
A female Daikong person held her child, standing by the window, staring at the firelight in the distant sky.
"What is that?"
Her husband walked over.
"I don't know, maybe it's a military exercise."
As soon as he finished speaking, the sound of an explosion came closer, and the husband's face changed.
"It's not an exercise, it's a war!"
The female Daikong person hugged her child tightly.
"What do we do?"
"Go to the basement! Quickly!"
They ran toward the basement; the corridor was already full of people carrying luggage, holding children, their faces full of fear.
An old Daikong person sat on the stairs, looking at the crowd, muttering to himself.
"What has happened to the Daikong Star Alliance? Could it be that the people of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance have attacked?"
A Daikong person nearby asked.
"Old man, what did you say?"
"The Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance has attacked!"
"Then what do we do?"
"Wait until it's over; whoever wins, we listen to them."
On the other side of the city, the rebels' Airborne Troops were landing.
The transport ships hovered at low altitude, the cabin doors opened, and the soldiers jumped down.
They were wearing Daikong Star Alliance military uniforms, with red cloth strips tied around their arms.
The Commander stood in the plaza, looking at a map.
"First Regiment, occupy the Communications Center. Second Regiment, occupy the Diplomatic Committee building. Third Regiment, hold the main traffic arteries. Move out."
The soldiers scattered.
At the entrance to the Communications Center, the guards saw the rebels and raised their weapons.
"Halt! Which unit are you from?"
The rebel Commander did not answer, raising a Laser Gun to fire.
The guard fell, and the other guards opened fire, but the number of rebels was too great.
The Communications Center was occupied within a few minutes.
In the Diplomatic Committee building, Kewake was awakened by the sound of an explosion.
He walked to the window and saw fires in many parts of the city, then the phone rang.
He picked it up; it was the voice of Zuola.
"Commissioner, Serafen has launched a coup, and the rebel army is advancing toward the city center."
Kewake maintained Silence for a moment, then spoke.
"How is it on your end?"
Zuola said.
"The Intelligence Department is still under control, but the rebel army has already occupied the Communications Center; our communications could be cut off at any time."
Kewake said.
"You must evacuate immediately. Do not stay in the office."
"Understood."
The call disconnected; Kewake put on his coat and walked out of the office, where several Guards came rushing down the corridor.
"Commissioner, we will escort you to safety."
Kewake nodded.
"Go to the Spaceport; the fleet of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance is there."
The Guards protected him as they walked toward the elevator.
