Chapter 1440: Gathering These Aliens Together
On the Wangzuo Ting plaza, Sebastian stood beside a pile of rubble, watching his fellow Humans boarding in the distance as the Adjutant walked over.
"Comrade Chapter Master, that Orc Jiate has been brought."
Sebastian nodded.
"Let him come over."
Jiate was escorted out of the Thunderhawk Gunship by two Sons of the People Space Marines.
The scene before his eyes made Jiate's eyes widen as he looked at the Orc corpses on the plaza.
Blood had stained the stone slabs a blackish-red, and a foul, fishy stench permeated the air.
His legs began to tremble; he had originally thought the war would last for some time, but he had not expected it to end so quickly.
Jiate was brought before Sebastian, keeping his head low, not daring to look around.
"Lord Chapter Master."
His voice was very soft.
Sebastian looked at him.
"Jiate, the war on Iron Tooth Star is over; the Broken Bone Empire no longer exists."
Jiate raised his head.
"Ov... over? So quickly?"
Sebastian said.
"The efficiency of the Sons of the People Chapter is higher than you imagined. Most of your kin are dead, and those who surrendered are being kept in the camp."
He pointed to the east side of the plaza, where an open area was enclosed by barbed wire; thousands of Orc prisoners were huddled inside, shrinking together, not daring to raise their heads.
Jiate looked at those prisoners, his heart filled with mixed emotions.
Sebastian began to speak.
"Jiate, I have a Task for you. There are still many Orc Buluo on Iron Tooth Star, scattered across the wastelands, mines, and factories. Go and tell them the war is over, and the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance will arrange their future destination. Whether they surrender or not, as long as they are Beast Race, regardless of their status, bring them all here. Those who refuse to come are to be dealt with on the spot. You don't need to do it yourself; I will send people to follow you. Your Task is to let them know there is still a path to survival."
Jiate was stunned and spoke up.
"I... my strength is limited, I need helpers. Can I find a few more Orcs to go with me?"
Sebastian said, "You may. Go find a few Orcs you trust to act with you. Be quick; we do not have much time here."
Jiate nodded.
"Good, I... I will go now. Comrade Chapter Master, may I pick a few from those prisoners?"
Sebastian said.
"You may. Have the Adjutant take you."
Jiate followed the Adjutant toward the prisoner camp; the barbed wire gate opened, and he walked inside.
An old Orc stood up and said in surprise,
"Jiate? You... you have defected to the Two-legged Sheep?"
Jiate said.
"The war is over. I am here to take you to a safe place. Those willing to follow me, stand up."
No one moved; the old Orc looked at him, then looked at the Space Marines outside.
"A safe place? That is the place of the Two-legged Sheep. If we go, can we still live?"
Jiate said.
"They promised me that as long as you do not resist, they will not kill you."
The old Orc was silent for a moment, then slowly stood up.
"I will go with you."
Several female Orcs nearby also stood up, and a cub poked its head out from its mother's arms, looking at Jiate.
Jiate walked over and picked up the cub.
"Let's go, follow me."
He picked a dozen or so Orcs and walked out of the camp; Sebastian glanced at him.
"Just these?"
Jiate said.
"It is enough. I know the way to other Buluo; they will follow."
Sebastian nodded.
"Adjutant, assign them an Alien transport vehicle. Send people to follow them, pay attention to safety, and do not let them run away."
The Adjutant stood at attention.
"Yes, Comrade Chapter Master."
Jiate took those dozen or so Orcs and boarded a transport vehicle.
The vehicle doors closed, the engine started, and it drove toward the depths of the wasteland.
Jiate leaned back in his seat, his thoughts in turmoil; he did not know if he could convince those Buluo, or if they would listen to him.
But this was the only thing he could do; a path to survival was better than death.
On the Wangzuo Ting plaza, Sebastian lifted the head of Gokazi and impaled it on a wooden stake.
It was the flagpole in front of the Wangzuo Ting, and the banner of the Broken Bone Empire had already been burned.
He impaled the head upon it, facing those prisoners and those Orc civilians still watching from afar.
This was the fate of the King of the Broken Bone Empire.
The Adjutant walked over.
"Comrade Chapter Master, the Orbital Fleet has sent word: all occupied planets of the Broken Bone Empire are now under the control of the Sons of the People Chapter."
Sebastian said.
"Notify the fleet to conduct repairs."
The Adjutant stood at attention.
"Yes."
The Adjutant turned and left; Sebastian stood beneath the flagpole, watching those Human compatriots who were boarding the ships.
An old man walked over, looked at him, knelt down, and kowtowed once.
Sebastian helped him up.
"No need to kneel; you are free."
The old man stood up, tears streaming down in excitement.
On the other side, Jiate's transport vehicle stopped outside a Buluo.
This Buluo had a population of about two thousand.
Jiate got off the vehicle and walked toward the Buluo with those dozen or so Orcs.
The Sentinel at the entrance of the Buluo saw them and raised their weapon.
"Halt! Who are you people?"
Jiate raised his hands.
"I am Jiate, Jiate of the Keta Tribe; the war is over. The Broken Bone Empire has fallen, and I have come to take you to a safe place."
The Sentinel looked at him, then looked at the Orcs behind him.
"You have defected to the Two-legged Sheep? You are a traitor!"
Jiate said.
"I am not a traitor; I just want you to live. The Two-legged Sheep army outside has already surrounded this place; if you do not come with me, they will slaughter you all."
Just as the Sentinel hesitated, a commotion came from inside the Buluo.
The old Chieftain walked out and looked at Jiate.
"Jiate? You are that good-for-nothing who builds airships?"
Jiate said.
"Yes, I am a good-for-nothing. But if you do not come with me, you will die."
The old Chieftain remained in Silence for a long time.
He saw several armored vehicles parked on the distant mountain, with red paint and their gun barrels aimed in the direction of the Buluo.
"Fine, I will take my clansmen there."
Soon, the Orcs here finished packing and began to walk toward the assembly point.
And Jiate returned to the transport vehicle to head to another Buluo.
The second Buluo had a population of about three thousand; as soon as Jiate's convoy arrived, they saw a group of people already gathered at the entrance of the Buluo.
The old Chieftain stood at the very front, holding a Battle Axe in his hand.
"Jiate, you are that traitor?"
The old Chieftain's voice was loud, echoing in the valley.
Jiate got off the vehicle and raised his hands.
"I am not a traitor; I have come to take you to a safe place."
The old Chieftain raised his Battle Axe and roared.
"A safe place? A place of the Two-legged Sheep? Do you think I don't know? How many Orcs have those red-armored warriors killed? The Keta Tribe was slaughtered entirely, not a single living soul left; are you taking them to their deaths?"
Jiate explained.
"Only those who do not go will die."
The old Chieftain looked at him, his eyes narrowing.
"What did you say?"
Jiate said.
"The armored vehicles outside have their barrels aimed here. If you do not come with me, they will open fire. Not just you, but the entire Buluo."
The old Chieftain turned his head to look at those red armored vehicles; the barrels were indeed aimed at the direction of the Buluo.
"They only have a few vehicles; you think we can't beat them?"
"You have three thousand people, what will you use to fight?"
The old Chieftain shook his head.
"We are not leaving; this is the place where our ancestors have lived for generations, and we will die here if we must."
Jiate looked at him and remained in Silence for a moment.
He turned around and walked back to the transport vehicle.
The armored vehicles opened fire; explosions erupted in the center of the Buluo, shanties flew apart, and debris scattered everywhere.
