Chapter 1452: The First Prince's Fleet Withdraws

~7 min read 1,212 words

Capital Planet Orbit, Kelake's flagship.

Kesi's Shuttle landed in the flagship's hangar.

The hatch opened, Kesi walked out, followed by two guards.

The hangar was filled with fully armed Luoke soldiers, every pair of eyes fixed on him.

Kelake sat in the command room, four eyes fixed on the entrance.

Seeing the Adjutant bring Kesi in, Kelake propped up his good leg and sneered.

"Third brother, long time no see."

Kesi walked up to him and nodded slightly.

"Big brother, I hope you have been well."

Kelake sneered.

"Well? My leg is broken, and you say I am well?"

Kesi said.

"Big brother, I am sorry your leg is broken. But that was an accident, not..."

Kelake stood up, leaned on his cane, and walked up to Kesi.

"An accident? You say it was an accident? Do you think I would believe that?"

Kesi spoke calmly.

"Whether you believe it or not, big brother, that is the truth. I am here today to ask you to withdraw your troops."

Kelake revealed a cold, sinister smile.

"Withdraw? Why would I withdraw?"

He leaned on his cane and walked around Kesi once.

"You are the favorite in front of the Emperor now, and the court ministers have all leaned toward you. You caused me to fall off the cliff, framed Kesuosi, and manipulated the government; do you think I don't know?"

"Big brother, do you have evidence for saying these things?"

Kelake's sneer froze on his face.

"Evidence? I..."

Kesi said.

"You have no evidence, only guesses. You brought your fleet to force the palace, and all the court officials are watching. Do you think they will support you? No, they will think you are a madman."

"You..."

Kesi continued.

"Big brother, withdraw your troops. The Emperor said that as long as you withdraw, he will not pursue this."

Kelake looked at Kesi, looking at those calm four eyes.

Those eyes were as calm as a deep pool of water, with no bottom in sight.

Kelake sneered and shook his head.

Since he had come, he would not retreat; he wanted to make Kesi pay the price.

"Kesi, do you think that just because you came, I would withdraw my troops? Do you think a few words from you could make me give up? I will have someone cripple one of your legs, and then you will understand what a price is."

Kelake turned to the Adjutant.

"Adjutant, call people in. Pin Kesi down and cripple one of his legs."

The Adjutant did not move.

Kelake frowned.

"Adjutant? Did you not hear me?"

The Adjutant still did not move; he stood beside Kelake, expressionless, his gaze fixed straight ahead.

Kelake's voice rose.

"Adjutant! Call people in!"

Kelake turned his head to look at the Adjutant.

"Are you deaf? I told you to call people in! Pin Kesi down! Cripple one of his legs!"

The Adjutant turned his head and looked at Kelake.

The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, revealing a smile.

A chill ran down Kelake's back.

"You... what are you smiling at?"

The Adjutant did not answer Kelake; he reached out and pressed down on Kelake's shoulder, and Kelake felt his entire body pinned to the chair.

His leg was trembling with fear.

"You... who are you?"

Kesi smiled as he walked up to Kelake and looked down at him.

"Big brother, your Adjutant is already dead. The one standing before you is my man."

Kelake's pupils contracted.

"You... what did you say?"

Kesi said.

"I said, the real Adjutant is already dead. Your fleet no longer belongs to you."

Hearing this news from Kesi, Kelake's lips trembled; he still could not believe it.

"Impossible... impossible..."

Kesi nodded at the Adjutant, and the Adjutant's body began to change.

A few seconds later, standing before Kelake was already another Kelake.

An identical face, an identical scar, identical four eyes, and even the limping posture was imitated exactly.

Kelake's eyes widened, his pupils contracting.

He raised a finger to point at that "Adjutant," unable to speak a complete sentence.

"You... you... you are... a monster..."

Kesi looked at him.

"Not a monster, but a better you. From today on, you are the First Prince of the Keloke Imperium, Kelake. You will withdraw the troops, plead guilty to Father Emperor, and support me in becoming the heir; your identity will continue to live on."

Kelake pointed at Kesi, shouting hoarsely.

"I... I will expose you! I will tell Father Emperor! You are a monster! You are not a Keloke!"

Kesi shook his head.

"Alien, you have no chance left."

"Kelake" walked in front of the real Kelake, reached out a hand, and covered his mouth.

The real Kelake struggled a few times, but it was useless.

Kelake looked at Kesi, looked at that younger brother standing before him with a calm expression, looked at that monster.

All struggle was in vain; Kelake's vision began to blur, his consciousness began to scatter. Finally, there was completely no movement.

"Kelake" let go of his hand, watching the corpse of the Alien in front of him fall to the ground.

Kesi opened his mouth to speak.

"Dispose of the corpse, do not leave any traces."

After Luoke finished disposing of the corpse, Kesi spoke.

Order the fleet to retreat, first retreat to a nearby planet to await orders.

Kelake walked to the command console and pressed the Communication Device.

All ships, hear the order: retreat. Repeat, retreat.

A series of replies came from the Communication Device.

"Received."

Kesi stood before the window, watching those ships turn around one after another, sailing away from Capital Planet Orbit.

On Kesuosi's flagship, Kesuosi stood before the Bridge's observation window, staring at the fleet retreating in the distance.

His brows were tightly furrowed, his four eyes filled with confusion and anger.

That is... the First Prince's fleet?

His voice was very soft, as if he were talking to himself.

The strategist stood beside him, head lowered.

His Highness, yes, the First Prince's fleet is retreating.

Kesuosi turned around and questioned him.

Retreat? Why is he retreating? What exactly did Kesi say to him? He said that this time he would take Kesi down; he couldn't have been persuaded!

The strategist did not speak.

Kesuosi walked to the communication console and pressed the communication key.

Connect me to the First Prince, now.

A burst of static came from the Communication Device, and then it connected.

Kelake's voice came out from the Communication Device.

Second brother, what is it?

Kesuosi's voice carried suppressed fury.

Big brother, what are you doing? Why are you retreating? Didn't Kesi go to find you? Why didn't you take the opportunity to act?

Kelake's voice was very calm.

Second brother, I have changed my mind. Kesi is right; what we are doing is rebellion. Father Emperor is still here; we cannot force the palace.

You... what did you say? We have planned for so long! You say you change your mind and you change it? Have you forgotten who broke your leg?

I have not forgotten, but I cannot drag the Keloke Imperium into civil strife for the sake of revenge. Kesi has already promised to explain clearly to Father Emperor, and we will continue to serve the Imperium.
