Chapter 167: Blue Plasma
"Attention! We have entered the reconnaissance range of these Zerg; the Aliens we are about to face will be even more numerous!"
The leading Attila Barbarian Cavalryman shouted a warning to his comrades behind him, but the group did not stop their advance. They did not approach the Hatchery directly, but instead circled around it to observe whether there were any Zerg present that had not appeared in the intelligence reports.
During their observation, they encountered no fewer than ten swarms of Zerglings, each numbering between 500 and 1,000, but under their high-mobility guerrilla tactics, these Zergling swarms were all wiped out completely.
Just then, the Attila Barbarian Cavalryman saw an entity appear at the entrance of the Hatchery cave: it stood approximately 3 meters tall, was between 7 and 8 meters long, and had a swollen tail supported by extremely powerful hind limbs, while its forelimbs were short and dense, and two huge Liaya at its maw were constantly snapping shut.
"It's an Alien not seen in the intelligence reports!" The leading Attila Barbarian Cavalryman shouted a warning immediately upon seeing this Zerg, and the Attila warriors beside him quickly dispersed, separating in an orderly fashion.
At this moment, the Zergling swarms began to close in on them, not rushing forward to throw their lives away to the Attila Barbarian Cavalry as before, but slowly forming a encirclement around these high-mobility Attila Barbarian Cavalrymen. However, the encirclement was always broken through by the dispersed Attila warriors, and the speed of the Zerglings could not keep up with the speed of the Attila warhorses, so the encirclement could only be broken again and again.
Just then, the Zerg with the swollen tail that had appeared in the Hatchery raised its tail high, and blue light began to gather at the tip of the tail. Suddenly, the swollen tail contracted slightly, and a stream of blue plasma sprayed out from within, scattering in the high air; the blue plasma fell like raindrops onto some of the Attila warriors.
Immediately afterward, thick smoke rose from these Attila warriors as the blue plasma rapidly corroded the wool robes on their bodies. These Attila warriors quickly rode their warhorses away from the area covered by the blue plasma. The warhorses beneath them were also splashed with the blue plasma, and the areas dripped upon by the blue plasma were corroding the warhorses' flesh at a speed visible to the naked eye, yet the Attila warhorses did not stop running due to the pain, nor did they throw the Attila warriors off their backs.
After the Attila warriors stripped off the wool robes stained with the blue plasma, they revealed the thin clothing underneath. The high heat carried by the blue plasma made these Attila warriors feel a hint of danger. They wanted to look at the wounds on their warhorses, but where the blue plasma had dripped, it was corroding the warhorses' flesh while spreading at a speed visible to the naked eye. This was merely the power produced by the tiny, raindrop-like plasma of that Zerg.
Seeing dozens more Zerg with swollen tails like the one just now appearing in the Hatchery, the leading Attila Barbarian Cavalryman said decisively, "We are retreating temporarily! Report this intelligence to the Emperor!"
But the warhorses that had just been splashed with the blue plasma could no longer hold on; more than 30 Attila warriors' warhorses eventually collapsed to the ground and stopped moving, the blue plasma having already corroded the warhorses' carcasses until they were riddled with holes.
Seeing the group of Aliens chasing behind them, the leading Attila Barbarian Cavalryman could only grit his teeth and continue forward, without the slightest intention of stopping.
After a series of angry shouts from the Attila warriors came from behind, a string of explosions pronounced the fate of those Attila warriors; at the very last moment, they offered their Loyalty to the Emperor and fulfilled their Oath!
The other Attila warriors rode their warhorses and gradually shook off the Zerg behind them. Although the blue plasma attack came again later, they were already far from the Hatchery and beyond the coverage range of the blue plasma.
Seeing the area covered by the blue plasma, the leading Attila Barbarian Cavalryman roughly calculated the approximate attack range of that type of Alien and firmly memorized it.
After shaking off those Zerg, these Attila warriors found a gentle slope to use as a resting point. After selecting 10 Attila warriors, the Attila Barbarian Cavalryman said to them.
"I need you to return to the location where the Emperor gave us our Task, and tell the Emperor the information about this kind of Alien. Furthermore, that kind of Alien moves slowly, and its attack range is approximately between 40km and 42km; it is uncertain whether the range will continue to expand. Its attack has high-temperature corrosiveness, and it is temporarily uncertain whether the volume of the blue plasma will change. The quantity is unknown, but it is predicted that there are quite a few of these Aliens in the Hatchery."
These 10 Attila warriors saluted him and said, "Yes!"
Inside the Zerg Incubation Nest.
The tentacles on top of the Dominator Zerg's head were constantly swaying; it was very curious about these Humans wandering around its Hatchery with such fanfare.
"Strange behavior, what are they doing? Just coming over to harass? If they want to get close to my children, that would be interesting; it would be just the right time to let another group of children get some exercise. Also, the smell on them is truly foul!"
As the Dominator Zerg inserted the tentacles on its head into the flesh wall of the Hatchery again, the flesh wall around the Dominator Zerg could be seen writhing crazily. Afterward, a group of Human children appeared; their eyes were dull, their bodies were wrapped by the flesh wall, and then this Dominator Zerg placed some tiny Zerg into the bodies of these Human children.
These Human children did not resist in the slightest, allowing the tiny Zerg to enter their brains. Under the control of the Dominator Zerg, these tiny Zerg slowly dissolved in the brains, merging into one with these brains.
The Dominator Zerg manipulated the surrounding flesh wall again, removing the flesh wall that bound these Human children, revealing the children's bodies. After about half an hour, the bodies of these children began to change; their skin began to turn pitch black, the hair on their bodies fell off rapidly, their skin cracked, and their flesh was torn apart.
But this flesh would constantly expand, wrapping these children up to form a pile of eggs.
When the Dominator Zerg used the nutrients in the Hatchery to catalyze half of the eggs, these eggs greedily absorbed energy from the Hatchery. This continued for two hours until these eggs stopped absorbing energy from the Hatchery, which caused the Dominator Zerg controlling the Hatchery to begin restoring order within the Hatchery, while these eggs already showed signs of cracking.
Soon, the shells of these Hatchery eggs, having absorbed enough energy, began to crack. From inside, one after another, humanoid Zerg crawled out. They retained Human bodies, but their stature had all expanded significantly, to about 3 meters. The skin on their bodies had turned into hard carapace, black-red carapace covered their entire bodies, a pair of insect wings had grown on their backs, their hands had turned into sharp forelimbs, 3 more pairs of scarlet eyes had grown, and the tiny, sharp teeth in their mouths were writhing along with their muscles.
The Dominator Zerg looked at these children of its own, the tentacles on its head waving excitedly.
"Such powerful strength; their bodies have become even more powerful, containing energy even purer than that of Humans. Truly worthy of being the gift bestowed upon us by the Mother God!"
