Chapter 390: Great Victory of the Legion
25th Legion Zerg Hatchery.
Vulkan leaped down from the transport aircraft with ten Salamanders warriors. As soon as they landed, many Zerg rushed toward Vulkan and the others. Vulkan swung the power hammer in his hand—this was a power hammer that Yingzhou had previously obtained from a random draw. Although it appeared a bit small in Vulkan's hands, Yingzhou really could not find a weapon suitable for Vulkan and had to let him make do with it for now.
Every swing of the power hammer kicked up a cloud of dust, and the immense force caused the Zerg struck by the hammer to instantly turn into a puddle of meat paste. Vulkan, as if he were performing an unparalleled slaughter, led his progeny toward the nearest incubation nest.
Meruoke, following behind Vulkan, fired his bolter at the winged insects in the sky, blasting the winged insects that tried to dive down into fragments. His power armor and the reflexes gained from genetic modification allowed Meruoke to clear away quite a few of the winged insects circling in the sky.
The Salamanders warriors accompanying Vulkan felt their blood boiling, their chainswords constantly swinging as they shouted aloud.
"Into the fires of battle, unto the anvil of war!"
"For the Emperor! For the Lord of Fire Dragons!"
Hearing his progeny's battle cry, Vulkan swung his power hammer down once more and shouted loudly.
"Not for me! It is for the millions upon millions of people suffering under the torture of the aliens! For Human Civilization!"
Although the Salamanders warriors were momentarily stunned, they remembered that their father truly valued the residents of the Ninth Defense Zone, so they complied with their father's wishes.
The 11 tall, sturdy men soon arrived at the incubation nest closest to the landing site. Upon entering the nest, Vulkan saw two humanoid guard insects attacking. Seeing that the opponents had human appearances, Vulkan pulled back his strength and knocked the two humanoid guard insects back. Taking a closer look, he sorrowfully discovered that these two were beyond saving; their entire bodies had completely transformed into Zerg, leaving only a skin that resembled a human form.
"Father, they must be the poor souls assimilated by the aliens!"
"Yes, I know. These damned aliens, to actually turn our kin into this! We can only let them rest in peace."
Recalling that his younger sister's father seemed to have been possessed by an alien race, and in the end, his father had to painfully kill him.
Thinking of this, Vulkan gripped his power hammer tightly and charged forward quickly. He swung down at the two humanoid guard insects. The two humanoid guard insects still wanted to resist, but in the next second, the energy force field that appeared around their bodies was instantly shattered, and the powerful force caused the entire incubation nest to show signs of collapsing.
This shocked the Dominator Insect hiding inside the incubation nest, and the tentacles on its head stopped swaying.
"This... this... how is this possible? Is this the physical strength a human can possess? Why does it give me the feeling of being stared at by a monster?"
Just as the Dominator Insect was manipulating a Carrier Insect to take it away, the flesh wall of the incubation nest was instantly smashed open, and a tall figure walked in from the breach. Beneath black-gray skin, a pair of reddish eyes stared at the Dominator Insect.
The Dominator Insect felt extremely uncomfortable being stared at by this human, so it manipulated its guard insects to intercept this human.
As a result, in the next second, a powerful, immense force smashed the guard insects that had just rushed out until not a bone remained; only the flesh and blood still flowing within the nest confirmed that guard insects had indeed been there just moments ago.
"You alien, you are truly damned!"
Seeing that the Dominator Insect with tentacles on its head had other Zerg protecting it, Vulkan concluded that this was the target he needed to find, and he swung his power hammer down fiercely.
The Dominator Insect tried its best, attempting to mobilize powerful mental energy to resist this fatal blow. Its mental fluctuations spread to the surroundings. However, facing this absolute power before it, all the efforts it made appeared so pale and weak.
The power hammer arrived with the force of a thunderbolt, smashing fiercely onto the Dominator Insect.
In an instant, accompanied by a dull, loud sound, the Dominator Insect's body, along with the Carrier Insect beneath it, was instantly smashed to pieces, flesh and blood flying everywhere, turning into a nauseating pile of meat paste.
Those Zerg currently engaged in fierce combat with the Human Alliance soldiers and the Cadian Shock Troops felt the death of the Dominator Insect. They immediately fell into chaos; these Zerg seemed to have lost their backbone, beginning to scurry about in all directions, completely lacking their previous fearless momentum.
On the battlefield, there were figures of Zerg bumping into each other everywhere; they were like a swarm of headless flies, running wildly without any purpose. The Cadian Shock Troops and Human Alliance soldiers did not let this excellent opportunity pass, launching fierce attacks one after another.
Dazzling laser beams accurately struck one Zerg after another; heavy bolters blasted the fleeing Zerg into smithereens; and those rune bullets, dense as rain, poured down mercilessly, stirring up one bloody storm after another within the insect swarm.
Under the powerful offensive of the humans, the already disadvantaged insect tide collapsed in the blink of an eye. Countless Zerg fell into pools of blood; those that had once ravaged the land could now only become incomplete corpse fragments on this battlefield.
"We actually defeated the Zerg!"
"I can't believe it, we actually defeated the Zerg!"
Some Human Alliance soldiers looked at the majority of Zerg corpses on the battlefield and shouted in disbelief.
This was something they had never dared to imagine, yet all of this was truly and concretely happening to them.
"This is all because of the Emperor; the great Emperor will eventually lead us to victory!"
A Cadian soldier reached out and patted an excited Human Alliance soldier beside him, speaking up.
"Yes! Praise the Emperor!"
Vulkan, with his ten progeny, had already destroyed three incubation nests. In fact, after the Dominator Insect died, the incubation nests became abnormally fragile, making them very easy to destroy, and the few Zerg that fled back were all killed by Vulkan and his progeny together.
Soon, Vulkan saw the Cadian Shock Troops and Human Alliance soldiers arrive at the incubation nest. The excited Cadian Lieutenant trotted to Vulkan and said in a resonant, powerful voice.
"Lord Vulkan, the aliens have begun to collapse and flee, a large number of aliens have been eliminated, a great victory in this battle!"
Vulkan nodded and said in a deep, resonant voice.
"Clean up the battlefield, have all positions of the 25th Legion advance, and report the battle report here to the Military District, so that the Ninth Defense Zone can begin the corresponding arrangements."
"Yes!"
95th Legion Position No. 1.
"For the Emperor!"
Chimera Armored Vehicles and Leman Russ Tanks formed a torrent of steel, driving toward the surging insect tide. Yake, wearing a high-pointed hat, opened the hatch on the top of a Leman Russ Tank, shouted loudly, and fired his bolter pistol at the incoming insect tide.
The Human Alliance soldiers and the fully armed Armageddon Soldiers followed behind this torrent of steel, launching an attack on the insect tide and clearing out the Zerg approaching from the two sides of the steel torrent.
