Chapter 407: We Are Comrades

Inside the transport aircraft.

"We will still split up. Huokan's squad will go down first to provide support; the remaining squads will land in the order I previously arranged. We are 10 minutes away from the battlefield."

Vulkan sat at the innermost part of the transport aircraft, the handle of his power hammer resting on the floor, his hands gripping the weapon tightly as he spoke to the Salamanders warriors in a deep, resonant voice.

Vulkan's gaze turned toward Dabeiwenqiao and Taigehe'er, his reddened eyes fixed on the two as he spoke.

"You two shall accompany me."

"It is our honor, Lord Vulkan."

Dabeiwenqiao and Taigehe'er nodded and said to Vulkan.

As the transport aircraft's speed began to slow, the pilot spoke to Vulkan and the others over the intercom.

"Lord Vulkan, the Fourth Defense Zone has sent us the location of the Fourth Defense Zone Outer City. We have arrived. Orcs have already climbed the city wall below and are fighting with the soldiers of the Fourth Defense Zone."

"Understood. Find a landing site. First squad, prepare to deploy."

"Understood, Lord Vulkan."

Vulkan looked at Huokan and the others near the hatch and said in a steady voice.

"Huokan, my sons, it is an honor to fight alongside you. For Human Civilization! Exterminate those aliens!"

Huokan put on his helmet and said to Vulkan.

"It is also my honor to fight with you, Father!"

The transport aircraft arrived above the Outer City Wall of the Fourth Defense Zone, emerging from the gray mist as the hatch slowly opened.

Huokan and the other Salamanders warriors came to the transport hatch. Looking at the Human Alliance soldiers fighting the Beast Race below, Huokan spoke.

"Brothers, let us bring back glory! Into the fires of battle, unto the anvil of war!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Huokan was the first to leap from the transport hatch.

The other Salamanders warriors also roared in unison and deployed from the hatch in an orderly fashion.

The moment Huokan's feet touched the ground firmly, he instantly entered combat mode, his movements fluid and swift.

His left hand gripped the body of his bolter tightly to steady the muzzle, and through his helmet's targeting system, he locked onto the figure of an orc approaching a semi-collapsed ruin ahead.

Upon hearing the sound behind them, those orcs had just turned their heads when they saw a tall, two-legged sheep wearing green armor holding a bolter, its pitch-black muzzle pointed straight at them.

Before the orcs could react further, the bolter in Huokan's hands fired a series of bolts.

Fire soared into the sky, smoke filled the air, and the high-speed bolts struck their targets with pinpoint accuracy. The heads of those orcs burst instantly like watermelons struck by a heavy hammer, with blood and brains splattering everywhere.

As their heads exploded, the headless corpses collapsed powerlessly to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. After their limbs twitched a few times, they went completely still, showing no further movement.

The other Salamanders warriors also landed on the city wall one after another, killing every orc within their line of sight.

Through his helmet's automatic sensor system, Huokan saw the Human Alliance soldiers hiding in cover. He held his bolter across his chest, slowly approached them, and spoke to the Salamanders warriors beside him.

"There are still some of our comrades alive here. The aliens have been eliminated; you can come out now."

Seeing the wary Human Alliance soldiers, Huokan had to speak again.

Han Li looked up at the tall, burly man in green armor before him and said.

"I'm counting on you."

Huokan walked out of the semi-collapsed ruins. Below the city wall, a Stone Giant was climbing up again, led by a Beast Race rune warrior bringing orc warriors up with it.

A Human Alliance soldier who had Awakened Back Spirit saw this and was about to destroy the hand the Stone Giant had reached up, but was stopped by Huokan.

"What are you doing?"

A Human Alliance soldier saw Huokan say this and explained in a hurried tone.

"Of course, it's to stop those Beast Race creatures from rushing up. If they get up here, we'll be in a very passive position."
