Chapter 447: First Clash in the Extreme Cold Zone (2)
After being hit by an energy bomb, the Valhalla Second Lieutenant was quickly dragged behind cover by Valhalla soldiers, who then stood guard over the surroundings.
"Those Aliens have a longer visual range than we do; we must force them to reveal themselves so we can obtain more intelligence on them!"
The Valhalla Second Lieutenant spoke to the Valhalla Sergeant beside him, his words somewhat slurred as he disregarded his own blood-smeared left cheek.
Bright red blood flowed from his wound, forming clots that froze on his face, while the energy bomb left the Valhalla Second Lieutenant feeling the temperature on his cheek gradually dropping, a sensation of numbness sweeping through his entire body, Devouring his life.
"Since those Aliens are attacking us, it proves we have already entered their territory; there might even be Aliens closing in on us right now."
The Valhalla Second Lieutenant disregarded his own injuries and issued his orders.
Just then, the surrounding Valhalla soldiers suddenly roared and opened fire toward the front.
Several laser beams struck the expanse of white ahead, and the Valhalla Staff Sergeant beside him immediately asked.
"Soldier, report what you just saw!"
This Valhalla soldier stared intently at the white expanse ahead and replied in a brief tone.
"Staff Sergeant, the white patch I was looking at seems to have moved!"
The Valhalla Staff Sergeant looked toward the white expanse in the distance and discovered nothing unusual, but because the Valhalla Second Lieutenant had just been hit by an Alien from outside their visual range, he still said to the other Valhalla soldiers.
"The Aliens are very likely to resemble the surrounding environment; stay alert."
The cold wind blew, causing snowflakes to fly, which landed on the faces of these Valhalla soldiers and then melted.
Just then, energy bombs suddenly flew out from the cold wind; several unlucky Valhalla soldiers were hit directly in the eye sockets by the energy bombs, and the bone-chilling energy entered their bodies from the wounds, freezing the soldiers' brains and instantly coagulating their blood.
"Enemy attack!"
The Valhalla soldiers did not pay attention to their fallen comrades, quickly turning their Laser Guns to fire at the position from which the energy bombs were flying.
The laser beams flew into the cold wind and then went silent.
A Valhalla soldier saw a patch of white very close to him seem to approach, so he instantly turned his Laser Gun and fired without hesitation.
"Staff Sergeant, these cunning Aliens can hide in this snowstorm, and even their blood isn't red."
Under the cover of his teammates, this Valhalla soldier arrived at the position where he had just fired and discovered an Alien with snow-white fur, its head pierced through, dead beyond a doubt, while the flesh beneath the white fur was also pale blue.
Upon receiving this news, the Valhalla Staff Sergeant immediately sent several soldiers to bring back the Alien's corpse and had the Valhalla Second Lieutenant, who had not yet breathed his last, examine the Alien's body.
"Sure enough, these Aliens must have some strange methods to live in this Extreme Cold Zone; their body temperature is very low, and they are about 2 meters tall. Tell a squad not to stay behind cover, but to assemble and advance in one direction; the others watch for the positions of those Aliens and be ready to kill them at any time!"
"Yes!"
Soon, a Valhalla squad rushed out from behind the cover, using roars to vent the anger in their hearts.
"For the Emperor! You damn Aliens, come out if you have the guts!"
They clutched their Laser Guns tightly and charged in one direction; sure enough, several pale blue energy bombs flew out from the cold wind, likely hitting different spots due to the long distance.
After a charging Valhalla soldier was hit by an energy bomb, a humanoid monster suddenly stood up from the white snow beside him, raised the Battle Axe in its hand, and hacked at the soldier's neck.
But the moment it stood up, dozens of laser beams flew toward it and killed it.
Seeing this, the Valhalla Second Lieutenant, whose consciousness was becoming blurred, said to the Valhalla Sergeant beside him.
"Have the artillery in the rear use us as the center to conduct a fire coverage of the snowfield around us and blast those Aliens out for me!"
"Yes!"
Outside the Extreme Cold Zone.
Upon hearing the enemy situation encountered by the decoy unit, the Valhalla Captain approved the request for fire coverage.
"Conduct a round of fire coverage; I never thought those Aliens could actually hide their figures in the wind and snow. Blast them out for me!"
The order for artillery fire was quickly transmitted to the artillery position in the rear, where the Basilisk Self-Propelled Artillery were adjusted in orientation by the Valhalla artillerymen and quickly opened fire.
"Boom, boom, boom..."
Following a round of shelling on the designated location, the Valhalla soldiers inside the Extreme Cold Zone saw from the explosion smoke and dust one Alien after another that had been blasted into corpses, their snow-white fur also dirtied by the kicked-up soil, revealing their appearance.
Seeing this, the Valhalla Sergeant hurriedly said to the Valhalla Second Lieutenant beside him.
"Sir, it's just as you said; there are indeed quite a few Aliens around us, numbering about 100 or so!"
Due to the recent shelling, the wind and snow within the Extreme Cold Zone had become even heavier; the Valhalla Sergeant saw that the Second Lieutenant did not respond, looked down, and discovered that the Second Lieutenant was no longer breathing.
Seeing this, the Valhalla Sergeant silently laid the Second Lieutenant down, assembled the remaining Valhalla soldiers, and shouted loudly.
"Continue the advance! We already know what the Aliens look like; now, let those Aliens know the price of angering us!"
"Yes!"
Nearly 200 Valhalla soldiers replied in unison.
Seeing that the Frost Warriors who had first surrounded those Humans would end up with such an outcome, Saijia was shocked by these Humans before him.
Whether it was sending a squad to lure out his warriors or immediately ordering artillery fire on his own position after realizing they were surrounded, it all demonstrated the combat proficiency of this unit.
Most importantly, they had now adapted to this environment; after rushing through the cold wind belt, even the warriors hiding in the ice and snow would be found out by them if they were the slightest bit careless.
Saijia immediately sent a message to the Frost Barracks near him, ordering them to immediately dispatch troops to annihilate this Human unit.
Just seconds after Saijia sent the message, the Frost Sentinel who had just sniped the Human officer said with a hesitant tone.
"Lord Saijia, the Human unit outside has sent another unit into our area, numbering 3,000, and they have artillery!"
Upon hearing this news, Saijia frowned; the current situation was no longer something he could handle, and he had to immediately send the news here back to the Frost City-State.
