Chapter 528: Cleaning Up the Tribal Camp

~7 min read 1,262 words

The battle did not last very long; it took the Armageddon Steel Legion only about 20 minutes to wipe out the assembled Beast Race troops, a time that even included the Armageddon soldiers finishing off every Alien corpse.

Chimera Armored Vehicles and Leman Russ Tanks drove into the Kandong Tribe, and any resistance the Orcs inside put up against these iron beasts appeared extremely feeble.

A young Orc holding a Bone Blade rushed out from a tent and stabbed at an Armageddon Soldier.

"Damn you, go to hell!"

The young Orc raised the Bone Blade, a flash of light passed over his head, and his body seemed to have all its strength drained away; he collapsed to the ground and stopped moving.

"What a filthy race. Isn't it a waste of power to eliminate them like this?"

The Armageddon Soldier retracted the Laser Gun he had raised and said to his teammate beside him.

"That is why Commissar Yake ordered us to gather the non-resisting Aliens first, and execute the resisting ones on the spot."

Another Armageddon Soldier lifted the flap of a tent and discovered a Green Skin female Orc inside; she looked at the two Armageddon Soldiers who had opened the tent with terrified eyes, clutching a dagger in her hand.

"It has a weapon!"

The Armageddon Soldier who had lifted the tent flap quickly raised his Laser Gun, and a Laser Beam struck the Green Skin female Orc squarely in the skull.

As the Steel treads crushed the remains of the Kandong Tribe's totem flags, the crisp sound of bones shattering emanated from between the gears caked with minced meat.

A soldier wrapped in a protective suit used a Bayonet to deliver a finishing blow to an Orc corpse that was still twitching.

The muzzle of Commissar Yake's Bolter Pistol was still emitting blue smoke as he stepped in his military boots over a melted Rune Battle Axe.

Three hundred meters ahead, the surviving Orcs were being driven by Armageddon Soldiers into the center of a shell crater.

An old Orc who had lost his Liaya beat the ground with a Bone Staff, his turbid green eyes reflecting the Heavy Bolter mounted on the roof of an armored vehicle.

The sound of breathing behind the gas masks was exceptionally clear over the communication channel; seeing that the soldiers had gathered the non-resisting Orcs inside the tribal camp, Commissar Yake took a Frag Grenade from the belt of a soldier nearby and tossed it out casually.

The Beast Race driven into the shell crater had not expected these Two-legged Sheep to do such a thing; some Orcs tried to escape, but before they could climb out of the crater, the Fragmentation Grenade exploded.

"Boom!"

Various parts of Orcs flew out of the crater, the entire crater was stained red with blood, and some Orcs who had not died instantly were moaning in the crater.

Seeing this, Commissar Yake waved his hand, signaling several Armageddon Soldiers to walk into the crater and use their Bayonets to end the annoying sounds of those Aliens.

"Sir, we have discovered a group of Human survivors kept in captivity by the Aliens."

An Armageddon Lieutenant walked out from the tribe's breeding ground and reported to Commissar Yake.

"Let's go, take me to see them!"

Commissar Yake's military boots crunched over the mud caked with broken bones; by this time, he had already removed his gas mask.

The stench of rot wafting from the breeding ground hit his nose—the sour smell of some kind of protein decay mixed with the foul odor of excrement. Commissar Yake did not react, merely knitting his brows tightly.

Rusted Steel cages were arranged along the cave walls, every bar wrapped in blackened blood plasma.

Fragments of what were likely armored vehicles had been welded into feeding troughs; a paste of indistinguishable composition had congealed at the bottom, with several Human finger bones protruding abruptly from it.

Scrawled crookedly on the mossy walls were pleas for help, written in blood, though they had now turned a blackish-red.

Further back, there were only bloodstains smeared chaotically on the walls, clearly showing that the people here had fallen into despair.

"Emperor have mercy..."

The Armageddon Lieutenant's light swept across a corner, and twenty-some naked bodies immediately curled into balls.

Their spines were deformed and protruding from long-term curling, and the iron chains on their ankles were deeply embedded into their festering flesh.

When the light swept over, a young girl suddenly let out an inhuman howl—her vocal cords had clearly been deliberately preserved, while her eyelids had been crudely sewn shut.

Commissar Yake's gaze swept over the hooks hanging from the ceiling, with half a lower leg remaining at the end of a chain.

Clearly, these Humans had been bred after being kept in captivity by the Beast Race; they could not speak, only emit unpleasant howls.

"Your flesh has been tainted by the Aliens, but your souls shall receive the Emperor's protection."

The sound of the safety catch on Commissar Yake's Bolter Pistol clicking open was exceptionally clear in the cave, and the Armageddon Lieutenant beside him seemed to understand something.

After the two came out, Commissar Yake ordered several Armageddon Soldiers to take flamethrowers and purify the filth inside.

Looking at the Alien tribe, which was starkly different from the environment inside, a trace of annoyance flashed in Commissar Yake's eyes; he returned to the squad and issued an order.

"The Aliens are very cunning; they must still have remnants! We only cleared out the Aliens who didn't have time to hide; now, burn this place to the ground!"

Six flamethrower teams entered the Beast Race tribal camp, and liquid Promethium ignited every tent.

Not long after, one team, having just ignited a tent, suddenly heard what seemed to be movement underground nearby.

The two Armageddon Soldiers exchanged a glance, nodded, and walked one after the other toward the source of the sound.

As they approached, they saw a pit under a rock; one Armageddon Soldier moved the rock away, and the other Armageddon Soldier shone a searchlight into the hole.

Suddenly, a pregnant female Orc clutching her belly darted out from the burrow; the Armageddon Soldier who had moved the rock quickly raised his flamethrower, and the Promethium canister rapidly sprayed flames, burning the female Orc—who hadn't even fully crawled out of the hole—into charcoal; the incineration flames steamed into acrid smoke, though the two Armageddon Soldiers did not smell it.

"Alien detected, execute on the spot immediately!"

Commissar Yake's voice echoed through the sea of fire via a loudspeaker; he personally dragged out an Orc youth hiding in an oil vat and pressed his Bolter against the bone plate on the creature's forehead.

"Remember, these Aliens are the Emperor's enemies! They are the enemies of Humanity!"

As night fell, the entire tribe had become a scorched earth; Commissar Yake stood on top of a Chimera Armored Vehicle, gazing into the distance, waiting for the armored units that had gone to scout the surrounding area to return.

After a long while, the scouting armored unit returned; an Armageddon Second Lieutenant climbed down from a Chimera Armored Vehicle, jogged to Commissar Yake, and spoke.

"Sir, we have found several more tribes similar to this Alien one nearby, and we have already wiped out all the Aliens within those tribes."

Upon hearing the report, Commissar Yake nodded and said.

"It is time for us to return; the Aliens in the vicinity have been cleared. Let us return and await the Emperor's will."
