Chapter 552: Restoring Communication
Ninth Defense Zone Military Region.
Lu Zhenda was waiting with Horus for the situation in the Seventh Defense Zone; Lu Zhenda kept flipping through the report in his hands, but he did not take in a single word of its contents.
"Mr. Lu, I know you are anxious, but please rest assured, Vulkan will definitely control the main areas of the Seventh Defense Zone tonight, and will gradually clear out the Seventh Defense Zone's aliens with the primary goal of rescuing survivors."
Seeing that his behavior was indeed a bit obvious, Lu Zhenda could only offer an awkward smile and casually ask Horus.
"Hmm, indeed, it is just that this mindset requires a process of adaptation."
You must know, directly raiding a defense zone occupied by the Beast Race, under conditions of insufficient supplies, it is hard to even imagine quickly capturing the Seventh Defense Zone Communication Tower; it is simply not easy at all.
Seeing Lu Zhenda's appearance, Horus could only flip through the report in his hand and say.
"As for the Seventh Defense Zone occupied by the Beast Alien, I am not too concerned; their destruction is only a matter of time.
What I am more concerned about is the Demon Alien that shares our attack target.
I heard from Father that those aliens will be harder to deal with than the Beast Alien; I am currently thinking about whether we should proceed with the original plan to attack the Zerg Alien after we occupy the Seventh Defense Zone, or go to war with the Demon Alien."
Upon hearing Horus's words, Lu Zhenda frowned in thought; just then, the communication device on the desk lit up.
Lu Zhenda reflexively pressed the answer button, and saw Selina saying to Lu Zhenda with a calm expression.
"The Seventh Defense Zone made contact with us 5 seconds ago and has sent over the confirmed Orc area locations in the Seventh Defense Zone; please provide aerial fire support immediately."
After seeing the marked map sent by Selina, Lu Zhenda immediately replied.
"Understood."
After the communication hung up, Lu Zhenda began to issue orders while saying to Horus.
"I really didn't expect that it only took 13 hours, and that includes the time to deploy and switch transport aircraft! The Seventh Defense Zone's Communication Tower was captured so quickly? It's truly incredible!"
"Isn't this to be expected? Vulkan went to the Seventh Defense Zone in person, shouldn't it be?"
Following the orders issued by the Military Region, Valkyrie Transport aircraft took off from the Military Region and flew toward the Seventh Defense Zone.
The sky over the Seventh Defense Zone gradually grew bright.
Dozens of Valkyrie Transport aircraft tore through the clouds, the Imperial Eagle Emblem on their side armor exceptionally striking in the morning light.
"Alien structure detected, prepare for fire strike!"
The lead pilot's command came through the channel; through the bulletproof glass, these Alicia soldiers could see the surging green tide within the city.
"Heh, I heard these Orcs were just a facade; it looks like it's true."
The Orcs below were using obsolete anti-air cannons to spew Rune Bullets, attempting to shoot down the Valkyrie Transport aircraft appearing in the sky.
The lead V-201 suddenly tilted its fuselage, and the multi-laser spewed out beams of laser light.
The Orc troops currently assembling were instantly scattered by the fierce firepower; those Beast Race warriors who were not yet dead continued to charge while holding iron-sheet shields, until this Valkyrie Transport fired the Hellstrike Missile under its wing, blowing this group of Beast Race warriors and everything around them into a giant crater.
Thousands of parachutes bloomed like pale flowers in the sky, and gravity hooks pulled the Alicia Sentinel Mech down vertically.
A Valkyrie Transport hovered at low altitude, and the two heavy bolters at the cabin door blasted the Beast Race warriors attempting to besiege the drop zone into pulp.
These Valkyrie Transport aircraft were weaving a fire net among the clouds, using Honeycomb Missiles to clear open ground for the ground troops.
"Hahaha, beautiful! Kill these bastards! Quick, it seems like a Sentinel Mech was just air-dropped! Go see if there are ammunition supplies! For the Emperor!"
After seeing the aerial fire strike from the Valkyrie Transport, an Alicia unit nearby laughed, and the leading Alicia Second Lieutenant greeted several Alicia squads to go forward for reconnaissance and pathfinding, preparing to retrieve their supply crates.
After a night of fighting, the Alicia soldiers around this Alicia Second Lieutenant had almost no ammunition left; this wave of support came just in time!
The soldiers following this Alicia Second Lieutenant also shouted in unison at this moment.
"For the Emperor!"
Seventh Defense Zone Inner City.
Compared to the Beast Race resistance in the Outer City, the Beast Race in the Inner City had been cleared out for the most part, and on top of that, two Valkyrie Transport aircraft had just destroyed the Beast Race's assembly barracks in the Inner City.
A large number of Beast Race inside were directly swallowed by the explosions, falling in that fierce firepower.
The remaining Beast Race warriors let out unwilling roars amidst the roar of the Salamanders Space Marine Chainswords.
"No! Where on earth did they come from! Why are they so strong! My attacks aren't effective at all!"
A Beast Race warrior raised the large gun in his hand in despair, and after firing the last bullet, he saw that the green figure, whose stature was even taller than his own, had already approached him.
Aside from those negligible scratches, there were no other marks on his green armor.
This Salamanders Space Marine's Chainsword swung down rapidly, severing the head of the alien before him.
The tactical helmet's respiratory circulation system filtered the smell of tar in the air, and Wuerzan's Ceramite Boots crushed the shell casings covering the ground.
On his eyepiece display, a crimson purification marker flickered—thirty meters ahead, six Beast Race warriors were attempting to set up a heavy machine gun.
"Forged in fire."
Wuerzan quickly raised his bolter, and the Armor-piercing Round bloomed with sulfur-colored fire at the muzzle.
The Orcs' crudely welded steel plate bunker instantly turned into a honeycomb.
Green, spiked limbs splattered onto the five-meter-high dome, and the not-yet-cooled shell casings hissed as they landed in the pool of blood.
"Wuerzan, do you still have ammunition?"
The Salamanders Space Marine Katuo held his Chainsword, cleaving a Beast Race warrior hiding behind a bunker in two.
The Beast Race leader swung a Rune Battle Axe in a sweep, and the resulting gale sparked against Wuerzan's shoulder armor.
"None left!"
Wuerzan swung his Chainsword, severing both arms of this Beast Race leader; the armless Beast Race leader let out a short roar, then was pierced through the chest by the Chainsword.
"Don't lie, I just saw you fire your bolter!"
When Wuerzan withdrew his Chainsword, this Beast Race leader slowly fell to the ground.
"You guy, after coming down, your ammunition consumption has been too fast, right? This is the last one, use it sparingly!"
Wuerzan shook his head helplessly and tossed a magazine to Katuo.
"Hahaha, my brother, rest assured, don't you know me by now? I'll definitely use it sparingly!"
