Chapter 60: Exterminating the Orc Camp

~7 min read 1,356 words

The next morning, Yingzhou led several team members to advance toward the location of that Beast Race camp. According to the intelligence brought back by the Catachan Warriors last night, there were indeed no formidable characters in that camp.

With the Catachan Warriors scouting the path ahead, the speed of Yingzhou's group did not drop by much.

As they were about to reach their destination, the Catachan Warriors in front sent a warning signal. Yingzhou and the others also stopped and hid in the shadows of the jungle, only to see a large number of Orcs carrying various bizarre weapons and ammunition boxes, rushing toward the direction of the Thirteenth Legion.

Seeing this scene, Yingzhou frowned slightly.

What is the situation? Could these Orcs be planning a full-scale attack on the Thirteenth Legion?

The commander over there will surely discover this situation and will certainly increase the number of troops in the jungle.

There should be more than just the Orcs from this one camp setting out; he is now going to launch an attack on these Orcs and their camp.

Yingzhou pondered for a few seconds, and a decision formed in his heart.

After the Orc troops left, the team continued to advance toward the camp.

In the Orc camp, due to the lack of most of their forces, there were not many Orcs left here.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

As one Rune Bullet after another landed in the camp, the heat waves generated by the explosions blew up most of the structures in the camp.

The Orcs in the camp were clearly stunned, but they quickly began to look for cover in the camp and took out their weapons to guard the surroundings.

Amidst the sound of artillery fire, these Orcs seemed to hear a sharp whistle. Immediately following, in the smoke and dust kicked up by the artillery, one, two... soldiers wearing gas masks appeared. They stepped with heavy footsteps, and upon discovering the Orcs hiding in the camp, the Lucius Pattern 98 Lasguns in their hands quickly locked on and opened fire.

When these Orcs saw these soldiers charging straight ahead, they also raised the weapons in their hands and opened fire at these strangely dressed Humans.

For a time, the sound of gunfire erupted within the camp, but it quickly vanished, leaving only the sound of iron clashing together.

Although the melee weapons of these Beast Race looked very crude, a closer look would reveal that some simple runes were carved on the blades of their Battle Axes. The moment those symbols collided with the Entrenching Tools of the Krieg soldiers, they would emit a faint glow that enveloped the entire Battle Axe.

This Orc was surprised to find that its invincible Battle Axe could not even cut through a shovel! Its Battle Axe had been blessed by a Priest!

"Roar!"

It let out a roar, but the artillery fire that had just ceased sounded once again, though it did not land in the camp.

In this moment of distraction, it was seized by a Krieg soldier; the Entrenching Tool slashed fiercely onto its head, and the corpse with only half a head slowly fell, motionless.

On the other side, after Yingzhou summoned the Krieg Artillery and conducted a round of artillery strikes on the location of the Orc camp, he summoned 100 Krieg soldiers, blew the Charge Whistle, and let them charge into the Orc camp to improvise.

He himself recalled the artillery, took his team members, and went with the Catachan Warriors to intercept the returning Orc troops.

"Hurry! That group of Two-legged Sheep wants to go to war with us. Before, they were always timid, harassing us in the jungle like rats; now is the time for us to wash away our shame!" (Orc language.)

An Orc with a tall and powerful build, wearing a metal helmet on its head and draped in heavy Simple Bulletproof Armor, stood beside the orderly ranks, waving the Battle Axe in its hand and shouting at the top of its lungs: "Warriors, set off! Crush those Two-legged Sheep!"

"Roar-oh!"

Responding to it was the roar of a group of Orcs.

This Orc was named Oulu, and it was the leader of this camp. When it learned that the Priest had issued the order to mobilize, its heart was filled with excitement and joy, and it was so thrilled it could hardly contain itself.

Recently, Oulu had felt very irritable. A group of Two-legged Sheep had appeared from nowhere; they were like annoying mosquitoes in the jungle, constantly harassing the Patrol Squads it sent out.

Most importantly, every time these Two-legged Sheep finished an attack, they would quickly move to another location, and never had a single Orc been able to return to the camp alive.

This situation made Oulu furious. It was a great Orc! Possessing the powerful strength bestowed by the Priest, yet it was made so miserable by this bunch of Two-legged Sheep who only knew how to fire a shot and run—this was an insult to the Oath it had made before the Beast King Statue!

Just as it had not been long since it left the camp, a burst of explosions suddenly came from the rear of the troop, though the sound was not too close, and no one in the troop was injured.

"What is the situation? Where is that artillery sound coming from!" Oulu saw the Orcs in the troop picking up their weapons, ready to fire at any moment, and roared loudly.

"My lord, it seems to be an explosion coming from behind us," a strong Orc said in a muffled voice.

"Behind... isn't that our camp!!!" Oulu suddenly realized, "It's that bunch of detestable Two-legged Sheep again! This time they've even hit our camp. Warriors, go back! Slaughter them all!"

The Orc troops began to turn around and rush back. Oulu's eyes were bloodshot, and against its green skin, the bloodshot eyes looked somewhat terrifying.

This Orc troop of about 200 people rushed back aggressively.

Just at this moment, sharp whistling sounds rang out, accompanied by Rune Bullets accurately landing into the ranks. Immediately following, deafening explosions occurred one after another; dust flew, flesh and blood splattered, interweaving with mangled parts.

"This is impossible! The artillery sound just now was clearly still over at the camp! How could it appear here? Could it be the main force of the Two-legged Sheep? Quickly find a place to hide!" Oulu roared angrily.

Yingzhou ordered the Krieg Artillery to continue firing, and only when all the Orcs had fled into the depths of the jungle in a miserable state did he issue the order to stop the attack.

Although the artillery fire stopped, the screams of the Orcs did not. The Catachan tough guys in the jungle had long been prepared to welcome these Orcs; lasers shot out from the jungle from time to time, and some Orcs were running through the jungle with flames burning on their bodies.

Under the cover of its subordinates, Oulu entered the dense forest, but a wooden stake covered in sharp spikes instantly fell from a tree. The two Orcs clearing the path for Oulu in front were directly knocked down by this stake, but the two Orcs did not crawl back up.

Several Catachan tough guys emerged from the dense jungle, holding Laser Guns and firing at Oulu and the others, but the runes carved on the Simple Bulletproof Armor Oulu was wearing suddenly erupted with a strong energy fluctuation, which prevented Oulu from becoming a smoking corpse like its subordinates.

"You! You've pissed me off!" Oulu shouted angrily. It raised the Battle Axe in its hand and slashed at a Catachan Warrior. That Catachan Warrior revealed a sneer and quickly took out its own Katachan Knife to block.

The Battle Axe and the War Blade collided, emitting a harsh metallic clashing sound. Both Oulu and the Catachan Warrior felt the other's powerful strength; they were deadlocked, and neither could easily defeat the other.

Other Catachan Warriors saw this and gathered around one after another to launch an attack on Oulu.
