Chapter 666: Next Step Plan
Ninth Defense Zone Military Region, New Recruit Training Camp.
Yingzhou looked at Lu Zhenda's joyful expression and said with a smile.
"Lao Lu, don't be so impatient. What's there to be excited about just because one Zerg has been wiped out? Come to think of it, you seem to get excited every time."
Lu Zhenda shook his head slightly and wiped away the tears appearing at the corners of his eyes.
"How can I not be excited? You must know that the Zerg are the ones we in the Ninth Defense Zone have clashed with the most. It's not just me; I'm afraid the other residents of the Ninth Defense Zone will be just as happy!"
"Hahaha, then broadcast this good news to everyone via the Outer City screens. Let everyone know that Human Civilization is rising and will no longer linger on the brink of death under the oppression of the Alien Race as it did before!"
After ending the communication, Yingzhou whispered to himself.
"Ten minutes... perhaps even less... Kailuosi Jin and Weilasi, well done."
Regarding the remaining known Alien Races, the Demon and the Cyberk, Yingzhou decided to continue targeting the Demons after this clash, as those Tech-Priests were still studying the three Cyberk corpses.
Just then, the New Recruit Training Camp's broadcast emitted a burst of static, and soon, Lu Zhenda's voice came through the Military Region's broadcast.
"Ahem, latest news: the troops responsible for the Zerg offensive have officially captured the Third Defense Zone occupied by the Zerg today and destroyed the Zerg Overmind! The remaining Zerg are currently being cleared out. We have defeated the Zerg!"
On the training ground, all the new recruits' movements froze instantly, their eyes filled with surprise.
The Sergeants responsible for training looked up abruptly, their faces beneath their helmets filled with disbelief.
Subsequently, Lu Zhenda recorded his own voice and began using the Military Region broadcast to play it on a loop.
Immediately following this, the enthusiasm of the soldiers in the Military Region was ignited instantly.
"We won?! We won?!"
"For the Emperor——!!!"
"For the Emperor!!!"
"Cadian stands!!!"
"The bugs are dead! They are truly finished!!!"
Cheers, roars, and sobs mixed with ecstasy swept madly through the entire Ninth Defense Zone—from the communication channels, from every corner of the barracks, from behind the bunkers, and from the artillery positions!
On the training ground, a new recruit with mud still on his face suddenly dropped the training Laser Gun in his hand, grabbed his equally dazed companion, and roared incoherently.
"Did you hear that? Did you hear that?! The bugs! The bugs are gone!"
His companion was blank at first, then immense ecstasy rushed over his face; the two hugged each other, shouting and jumping, tears rolling down mixed with mud.
The supervising Sergeant did not scold them as usual; he took off his helmet, revealing a face covered in sweat and dust, looked up at the sky, his lips trembling, finally turning into an incredibly relieved sigh.
He punched the sandbag next to him hard, sending dust flying.
Yingzhou watched the soldiers who were more gifted in psychic powers looking happy, and he felt happy from the bottom of his heart as well.
Yingzhou walked up to these soldiers, clapped his hands, and signaled for them to be quiet.
Seeing the soldiers' cheeks flushed with excitement, Yingzhou said in a serious tone.
"Soldiers, calm down. This is good news, but it is only the first step."
Yingzhou's voice was not loud, yet it carried a strange sense of comfort and unquestionable composure.
"The Zerg threat has been lifted, but the enemies of humanity have not yet been wiped out. Continue training! You will also contribute to the rise of Human Civilization in the future!"
"Yes! Emperor!"
These soldiers were unusually emotional; they had already been too excited to sleep when they learned that it was the Emperor teaching them.
But upon seeing the Emperor in person, these soldiers' emotions actually stabilized.
Because the Emperor was completely different from what they had imagined; he was not high and mighty as they had envisioned. On the contrary, he was even willing to discuss methods of becoming stronger with them, the new recruits.
This made the soldiers' Loyalty to the Emperor even more steadfast.
After arranging the training for these new recruits, Yingzhou got up and left the New Recruit Training Camp.
"Good efficiency."
Yingzhou walked quickly toward the Military District Headquarters, murmuring to himself.
"Now then, the next step should begin."
Ninth Defense Zone Military Headquarters.
When Yingzhou arrived at the office, he saw Horus and Sanguinius talking.
Seeing Yingzhou enter the office, Horus and Sanguinius stopped their discussion.
"Father!"
"Hmm, it's fine. What are you two talking about?"
Yingzhou nodded slightly and said to the two in a relaxed tone.
"It is like this, Father. Horus and I were discussing the plan for the next step of the offensive against the Demon Alien."
"That's right. Sanguinius and I are in agreement that regarding the Cyberk squad encountered by the 87th Regiment previously, we need the results of the Inner City Tech-Priests' research on those alien bodies.
This way, we won't have any intelligence gaps once we go to war with this alien race."
Yingzhou sat on a chair to the side, his right hand resting on the backrest, and said to the two.
"Then, do you have any plans for attacking the Demon Territory?"
"Father, we have already drafted an initial plan here, but this plan will be adjusted according to the battlefield situation."
As Horus spoke, he handed a plan document to Yingzhou and began to explain.
"We are simulating the next offensive against the Demon Alien. The destruction of the Zerg is a huge encouragement. Just as you said to Mr. Lu, the threat has not been eradicated. The Demon territory is like a festering sore that must be cleared as soon as possible so that the war against the Cyberk Alien can be launched."
Yingzhou took the plan, his deep gaze quickly scanning the text and charts on it.
He read extremely fast, yet every word seemed to be carved into his mind.
"Tell me the core idea."
Yingzhou placed the plan gently back on the table and looked at Horus.
"With Vulkan's Salamanders Legion as the main force for this push into Demon territory, our frontline troops have already begun preparations in advance, but Sanguinius and I believe that the Demon Alien threat does not warrant us deploying a large number of troops for a crusade."
Hearing Horus say this, Yingzhou immediately felt a spark of interest and opened his mouth to ask Horus.
"Horus, why do you say that?"
Horus stood up straight, pressed his right fist against his lips, and after a light cough, said.
"Ahem, what we should primarily guard against are the Cyberk Alien that previously attacked the 87th Regiment; their territory is adjacent to that of the Zerg Alien, and while we are now reclaiming territory occupied by the Zerg Alien, it also requires us to increase the quality of our border defense forces, and Angron's War Hounds Legion will be stationed as a force for each border defense unit."
"To avoid being attacked from both front and rear after we go to war with the Demon Alien."
Yingzhou nodded and added.
"I will arrange for a Grey Knight squad to follow the Salamanders Legion to fight the Demon on the front lines, and when we are at a distance from the Second Defense Zone occupied by the Demon Alien, I will dispatch several surprise attack units to carry out decapitation strikes against the Demon."
After hearing Yingzhou's addition, Sanguinius thought for a few seconds and then said.
"In that case, the progress of eliminating the Demon Alien will be much faster than expected."
Yingzhou stood up straight, his gaze swept over the two, and he said.
"At that time, we only need to take the Second Defense Zone; the remaining Demon Alien will to a certain extent pin down the Cyberk, buying us more time. What is the scheduled time for your plan?"
