Chapter 732: The End of the First Battle Against the Cyberk

Jialun of the *Star Spear* was likewise burning with rage, and the *Star Spear*'s combat rapid-fire cannons opened fire at full power.

Rune bullets poured toward another Assault Giant Soldier attempting to close in, causing its energy shield to ripple incessantly.

The pilot of that Knight roared, pushing the ion shield to its maximum output while raising a massive chainsword to parry!

The power greatsword slammed fiercely into the ion shield.

The shield flickered violently, finally shattering with a roar under the violent kinetic and energy impact.

The residual force smashed heavily onto the chainsword.

The heavy chassis of the Cruiser Class Knight was forced back several steps, leaving a deep, molten dent on the sturdy chainsword.

The Knight's joint servos emitted a sound of overload.

"Watch your flanks!"

A warning came through the comms channel.

Taking advantage of the chaos, a third Assault Giant Soldier thrust its power greatsword out from a tricky angle, aiming directly at the relatively vulnerable waist joint of another Cruiser Class Knight.

"Don't even think about it!"

Two nearby Armiger-class Knight Attendant pilots abandoned their skirmishing, their engines roaring as their chassis erupted with maximum speed, crashing fearlessly into the sword-wielding arm of the Assault Giant Soldier!

Boom! Boom!

Like moths to a flame, the two Armiger-class Knight Attendants slammed hard into the massive arm armor of the Assault Giant Soldier! The automatic cannons fired at point-blank range, and the meltaguns fired at zero distance! The light of the explosions instantly devoured the point of impact!

The Assault Giant Soldier's movement was disrupted by this suicidal collision, and the power greatsword thrust wide, only carving a deep groove into the target Knight's leg armor.

However, of the two Armiger-class Knight Attendants that collided with it, one was swatted away by the giant soldier's backhand and disintegrated in mid-air; the other was crushed flat, cockpit and all, by the giant foot the soldier raised!

The battlefield instantly transformed into a shura field of clashing steel giants!

The deep blue and white Knight mechs no longer appeared so invincible in front of the massive, hideous Assault Giant Soldiers.

Every second, loyal and brave attendants turned into burning wreckage, and every moment, Cruiser Class Knights struggled to hold on under the shadow of the greatswords.

"Tailin Family! Assemble! With the *Oath* as the core! Armiger-class Knight Attendants! Death charge! Clear the way for the Knights!"

Commander Saide's voice carried a hint of resolve.

The Armiger-class Knight Attendant pilots who received the order had fanatical light flickering in their eyes.

"For the Emperor! For Tailin!"

A chorus of death-defying shouts rang out in the comms channel.

The remaining Armiger-class Knight Attendants opened their engines to full throttle, the Death Chain-cutters on their left arms spinning at high speed with a piercing shriek, their right-arm thermal spears pointed at the nearest giant soldiers, as they crashed into the legs of those behemoths without a second thought!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Violent explosions erupted one after another!

Although the suicidal charge of the Armiger-class Knight Attendants could not destroy the giant soldiers, their thermal spears firing at close range, the chain cutters tearing madly at joints, and the final engine overload self-destructions successfully disrupted the giant soldiers' formation, creating precious attack windows for Cruiser Class Knights like the *Oath* and the *Star Spear*!

"Now!"

Saide roared. The *Oath*'s Reaper Chainsword hacked fiercely toward the power sword arm swung by the Assault Type Giant Soldier, while three Armiger-class Knight Attendants leaped from the side toward the Assault Type Giant Soldier's ankle joints, attacking the joint connections.

The *Oath*'s Reaper Chainsword quickly changed its attack direction; Saide maneuvered the *Oath* to try and dodge the Assault Type Giant Soldier's slash, while the three Armiger-class Knight Attendants successfully severed the ankle joint of this Assault Type Giant Soldier. Unable to maintain balance with only one ankle supporting it, the Assault Type Giant Soldier collapsed with a roar.

Jialun's *Star Spear* seized the opportunity; the melta cannon, having just finished cooling down, recharged and aimed at the chest core of the Assault Giant Soldier that had fallen in front of the *Oath*!

"For the Emperor! Burn to ashes!"

Jialun roared and pulled the trigger!

A thick, crimson stream of molten energy shot out, aimed straight at the Assault Giant Soldier's chest core!

The terrifying melting and explosion turned this crimson war machine into a pile of twisted, burning scrap metal!

But the power sword of this Assault Type Giant Soldier simultaneously hacked off the *Oath*'s right shoulder armor along with its weapon, while another power sword shredded the Armiger-class Knight Attendant beside it.

With the addition of the Space Marine forces and the Cadian armored units to the front lines, and the fire support provided by the Valkyrie Transports, the remaining three Assault Type Giant Soldiers soon fell amidst the wreckage.

The first battle against the Cyberk left the Tailin Family with significant losses of Knight Attendant mechs, while the Cyberk soldiers faced with Space Marines no longer possessed their former prestige.

The tactical coordination of the Luna Wolves Space Marines, combined with the heavy fire support of the Iron Warriors, made the ordinary Cyberk soldiers much less troublesome.

Luoke looked at the chaotic battlefield and said over the comms channel.

"Father was right; these Cyberk Aliens are indeed tricky. The infantry and giant soldiers we just dealt with are likely just the most ordinary 'expendable' vanguard. The truly hard nuts to crack are probably still to come."

He paused, his voice turning serious.

"All Luna Wolves, stay alert! Repair damage, replenish ammunition! This is not the end, it is only the beginning! Do not let the wreckage of these tin-can scumbags make you complacent!"

"Understood!"

On the Iron Warriors' side, Sergeant Kafanoqi's voice remained steady.

"Iron Warriors, First and Second Fire Teams, maintain vigilance, covering the forward sector.

Third Team, tally ammunition consumption and replenish immediately.

All personnel, check equipment and repair minor damage."

He paused for a moment and added: "Collect battlefield data, especially the energy shield reactions, overload mode characteristics, and structural weaknesses of those giant soldiers. Father needs this data."

"Received, Sergeant!"

Some Cadian soldiers looked at the fallen wreckage of the Knight Attendants, awe showing in their eyes.

The soldiers shouted loudly, organizing the rescue of the wounded, replenishing ammunition, and constructing temporary defensive fortifications.

The air echoed with shouts in a Cadian accent:

"Medic! Someone here has been hit by shrapnel!"

"Quick! Bring over the spare Laser Gun energy cells!"

"The Emperor protects, look at the losses of those Knight lords... they blocked the most terrifying attacks for us..."

"Pull yourselves together! The Cadian stands! There are still Aliens left to deal with!"

Jialun sat inside the cockpit of the Star Spear, the Neural Bundle disconnected, sweat soaking his hair.

He took off his helmet, took a deep breath of air heavy with the scent of gunpowder, and looked at the casualty report displayed on the tactical screen with a complex gaze.

The icons of the Broadsword Squires turned into red crosses representing destruction in large swathes.

He stroked the cold replica of the Double-headed Eagle Emblem on the Control Console and whispered softly.

"Honor is my life..."
