Chapter 758: Arrival at the First Defense Zone (2)
Heavens, how are these people all so tall! Are the people in the Ninth Defense Zone all this tall?
As Huo Ke saw these figures descending from the sky clearly, this was the first thought in his heart.
Seeing Yingzhou's gaze turn toward Sherlock's direction, he recalled the title he had just heard that soldier use for this man.
Huo Ke hurriedly pointed with a hoarse voice toward the two figures who were supporting each other and walking over with difficulty, his tone nervous as he spoke.
"Em... Emperor! That is Sherlock! And Dalton! It... it was they who discovered the Giant Weapon Factory! And it was they who risked their lives to send a signal to contact you all!"
Yingzhou's gaze turned toward Sherlock and Dalton.
The two walked with a staggering gait, their bodies covered in scorch marks, bloodstains, and dust left by the explosion. Sherlock's left prosthetic arm was twisted and deformed, clearly unusable, so he could only support Dalton with his right hand.
One of Dalton's mechanical prosthetic arms was also sparking with electricity, emitting a harsh grinding sound as he walked, but his remaining intact mechanical arm was clutching that severely deformed toolbox tightly.
In the explosion just now, they were the only two who survived.
The two stopped in front of Yingzhou.
Sherlock tried hard to straighten his back; although his body trembled slightly from pain and exhaustion, his eyes were exceptionally bright.
A flash of astonishment crossed Dalton's eyes as he saw Yingzhou and Selina beside him.
That is...
"Em... Emperor,"
Sherlock's voice was hoarse and dry, yet he spoke clearly.
"I am Sherlock. This is my teammate, Dalton. Thank you... thank you for the support from the Ninth Defense Zone! You arrived just in time!"
Yingzhou nodded slightly, looking at the wounds on their bodies and Dalton's toolbox, and spoke.
"Your signal and intelligence laid the foundation for this operation. Tell me, what is the situation in the First Defense Zone now? How much do you know about the specific location and defensive strength of that 'Giant Weapon Factory'?"
Sherlock took a deep breath, endured the pain, and began to report with clear speed.
"Emperor, the First Defense Zone... has completely fallen.
The Outer City has been almost completely swept clean by the Cyberk; this place has become a dumping ground for their trash, and we are also trash in their eyes—when they need to, they will grab a portion of the survivors.
The Inner City... the Inner City is the core control area of the Cyberk, and the guards are extremely strict.
Our... our squad's previous area was able to see the edge of the Inner City."
Sherlock paused, a trace of lingering fear flashing in his eyes, and continued.
"That Giant Weapon Factory! It is right on the edge of the Inner City! Right next to the Old Central Energy Tower! It is too big! Even from a great distance, one can see those... those giant weapon heads being assembled! They are as high as mountains!"
Dalton, beside him, couldn't help but interject, speaking urgently.
"High walls! Energy Shield Generators! Automatic Turrets! And... and the Patrol Squads! The Cyberk's elite infantry and Heavy Assault Machine Soldiers patrol 24 hours a day without interruption! The density... is terrifyingly high!"
Dalton's voice was somewhat agitated, and he spoke at a rapid pace.
"We... we only dared to watch from afar, took some blurry footage, and scanned some energy readings of the defensive nodes... all... all transmitted to the Ninth Defense Zone!"
Sherlock followed up on Dalton's words, adding key information.
"The factory's production seems to be non-stop, day and night! We can see huge mechanical arms moving and hear the roaring coming from inside... although we don't know the Cyberk's purpose in manufacturing these giant weapons, it is definitely not a good thing!"
"It was precisely because we discovered this factory that we realized the frequency of the Cyberk capturing survivors had suddenly increased, which might be related to some need of the factory... perhaps it is labor? Perhaps... other, more terrifying things."
Sherlock's voice lowered, carrying deep worry, "We knew our strength was small and we couldn't shake that factory at all, so we risked our lives to try and contact the outside world... fortunately, we contacted the Ninth Defense Zone!
Although we had tried before, there was never any response, which led us to believe for a time that humanity was finished."
After he finished speaking, he looked at Yingzhou with burning eyes, waiting for the response of this powerful leader.
Yingzhou listened quietly, his face showing no change in expression, his pale golden pupils looking toward the area behind those mountains of trash.
The intelligence provided by Sherlock and Dalton corroborated the information he had previously obtained.
This was undoubtedly a malignant tumor that had to be removed, and it was the core objective of this deep penetration into the First Defense Zone.
"Location, next to the Old Central Energy Tower. Target clear."
Yingzhou spoke in a calm tone.
"Your efforts and intelligence are of vital importance."
His gaze swept over the exhausted survivors and finally landed back on Sherlock and Huo Ke.
"It is not safe here. Cyberk reinforcements will arrive soon. Sanguinius, Corax. Are there any other Cyberk Alien squads nearby?"
"Father, the nearby Cyberk Alien squads are gathering toward this side, but there are not many heavy firepower units among them.
However, our appearance must have already attracted the attention of the Cyberk Aliens in the Inner City; the number of Cyberk Alien troops appearing later will only increase!"
Upon hearing Sanguinius's words, Yingzhou nodded in agreement and took a few seconds to think of a countermeasure.
"Sherlock, Dalton, in a moment you will lead the way and take us to the location where you discovered the Giant Weapon Factory. Huo Ke, how many survivors are left in the Outer City?"
Huokan thought for a moment before speaking.
"Emperor, I don't know the exact number, but there are about 100,000 people. The Outer City is so large, and everyone has been intentionally separated by the Cyberk; we simply cannot reach survivors in other areas."
Yingzhou did not feel surprised by Huokan's answer.
After all, these survivors didn't even know if they would see tomorrow, let alone know how many survivors were in the Outer City.
As an Adeptus Custodes wearing Golden Power Armor stepped out from behind Yingzhou and planted the Guardian Spear in his hand into the ground, he knelt on one knee and said to Yingzhou.
"My Lord, please give your command."
"Kailuosi Jin, I will give you a troop to gather the survivors in the Outer City and eliminate the Cyberk Aliens. Do not let the survivors come to any harm; they will be the precious wealth of Human Civilization."
Kailuosi Jin nodded and replied in a steady tone.
"As you command! My Lord! The safety of the survivors is our mission. The filth of the aliens shall be purged completely!"
Yingzhou nodded, and after leaving behind two troops, he said to Sanguinius and Corax.
"Then there is no time to lose, let us set off! Selina, you will also act with me!"
Sanguinius and Corax replied.
"Yes, Father!"
Selina pushed up the glasses on the bridge of her nose and nodded calmly in response.
"Understood!"
