Chapter 763: Warlord Titan (3)
"Continue the fight! Do not let its sacrifice be in vain! Target, the Siege Cone Alien Giant Mech! Purge them!"
The voice of the Warlord Titan's captain remained cold.
Although the Volcano Cannon on its right arm had not fully recharged, the muzzle of the Gatling Bolter Macro-Cannon on its left shoulder was already glowing with the fire of destruction!
Boom, boom, boom!!!!
A metal storm bombarded a Shield Guard Giant Soldier that had just finished an attack and whose shield was experiencing a brief fluctuation due to turning.
Along with a Reconnaissance Giant Soldier beside it that was restarting its Optical Camouflage, it was instantly swallowed by this furious metal storm and beaten into a spray of armor fragments.
The battlefield fell into a brief, deathly silence due to the sacrifice of the Warhound-class Titan, then was immediately submerged by an even more violent, vengeful rage.
In the eyes of every Titan, every Space Marine, and every Cadian soldier, there burned a flame of vengeance for their fallen comrades.
A Reconnaissance Giant Soldier with Optical Camouflage active suddenly materialized several hundred meters away; a Particle Deconstruction Beam silently decomposed a squad of Cadian Infantry who were too slow to dodge, along with their cover, into basic particles!
A young Cadian soldier was behind the wreckage of a Leman Russ Tank; the violent explosion made his eardrums bleed and his vision blur.
He looked up and saw energy beams easily vaporizing the sturdy fortifications.
Every roar of the Titan's artillery made the earth tremble, blasting those terrifying Alien Giant Mechs into scrap metal.
But the fireball from the Warhound-class Titan's explosion appeared in slow motion in his eyes; in that destructive light, he seemed to see the pilot's final resolve.
"Emperor preserve us..."
He muttered to himself, replacing the Charging Pack on the scorching Laser Gun in his hand.
On a battlefield like this, the lives of mortals are as insignificant as dust.
But the sergeant beside him slapped his helmet hard.
"Get up! Kid! See that tin can trying to flank us? Use your Laser Gun and destroy it!"
"The Emperor's Titan! For the Emperor!"
Commander Saide, in the damaged cockpit of the "Oath", felt his fighting spirit reignite.
He witnessed the heroic sacrifice of the Warhound-class Titan and witnessed the Titan Legion using fierce firepower to suppress the swarm of Saiboke Giant Soldiers.
This won them a precious chance to catch their breath and regroup.
"Tailin Family! Reform formation!"
Saide's voice rang out through the family's internal communication channel, shouting decisively.
"With 'Star Spear' as the core!"
Broadsword Attendants, fill the gaps and cover the Knight's flanks!"
Hilt-Ring Attendants, fire at will, disrupt the Giant Soldiers' shields, and designate targets for our Titan brothers!"
Glory is my life! For the Emperor! For Tailin!"
"For the Emperor! For Tailin!"
The surviving Tailin Knight and attendant mech pilots roared in unison, and the engines of their scarred machines let out another defiant growl.
The Broadsword Attendants dragged their battered bodies, weaving through burning wreckage and artillery gaps, using Chain Cutters to tightly entangle those Assault Type Giant Soldiers or Saiboke Infantry swarms attempting to bypass the Titan's firepower to attack the Knight's flanks.
Every charge might be their swan song, but no one retreated.
"Hilt-Ring Attendant Seventh Squad! Lock onto the energy dissipation nodes of the enemy Giant Mech shields ahead! Continuous fire! Marks uploaded!"
A Hilt-Ring Attendant pilot reported calmly, while simultaneously controlling the Automatic Cannon to pour ammunition frantically at the weak points of the shield of a Shield Guard Giant Soldier that was currently gathering a Siege Cone in the distance.
Although they could not cause substantial damage, the continuous fire disruption and precise marking pointed the way for friendly forces.
The Reaver Titan responded immediately.
"Mark received! Target locked! Fire!"
A thick Laser Beam struck precisely at the area marked by the Hilt-Ring Attendants, causing the Shield Guard Giant Soldier's shield to fluctuate violently, forcing the action of gathering the Siege Cone to be interrupted.
Jialun's "Star Spear" wandering Knight had just barely recovered partial power from the engine overheating alarm.
He witnessed a Shield Guard Giant Soldier doing its utmost to maintain a thick Geometric Shield, resisting the continuous, terrifying metal storm from the Reaver Titan's six-barreled Gatling Bolter.
Dense explosions connected into a sheet of fire on the solid shield, the impact force making the Giant Soldier's massive body tremble slightly.
And just at this moment of all-out defense, Jialun keenly captured that in order to concentrate energy to counter the frontal firepower, the shield on the Giant Soldier's side and rear had become significantly thinner and unstable, with the "nodes" of energy flow clearly visible!
An opportunity! A fleeting opportunity!
"Now!"
A sharp glint erupted in Jialun's eyes, and his roar resounded through the cockpit!
He ignored the machine's overload warning and aimed the "Star Spear"'s Combat Rapid-Fire Cannon.
Boom, boom, boom!
The "Star Spear"'s more precise bombardment struck the weak shield node on the side and rear of the Shield Guard Giant Soldier!
Zzzzt—Bang!
This time, the strange Geometric Shield failed to fully disperse this concentrated, explosive impact!
A glaring gap was instantly torn into the energy plane at the point of contact.
The subsequent attacks poured into the massive knee joint connection of the Shield Guard Giant Soldier's leg without obstruction!
Crack—!!!!
A loud sound of metal snapping came through.
The Shield Guard Giant Soldier's right leg, like a pillar supporting the sky, was blown clean off at the knee joint!
The massive metal body lost its support and tilted and collapsed violently to the right!
Boom!!!!!!!
The off-balance Shield Guard Giant Soldier crashed to the ground.
The heavy body slammed hard into the ground, shaking the earth.
Below, dozens of Saiboke Infantry attempting to charge and two Reconnaissance Giant Soldiers that couldn't dodge in time were instantly crushed into flat metal pancakes by the Shield Guard Giant Soldier.
Shattered parts, blue Coolant, and machine oil mixed with mud, splashing everywhere.
"Target neutralized!"
Jialun's voice carried a hint of exhaustion, but even more of the thrill of success.
The Star Spear also paid the price for this extreme overload shot—the engine issued an overload alarm, billowing thick smoke, the cooling system was on the verge of collapse, the fuselage trembled violently, having almost completely lost its mobility, and the heat-radiating target stood in the center of the battlefield.
"Lord Jialun! Look out!"
A panicked shout from a nearby Broadsword Attendant pilot came through the communication channel.
Several Particle Deconstruction Beams from surviving Scout Titans in the distance tore through the air, aiming directly at the relatively vulnerable rear engine and cockpit area of the immobile Star Spear!
Just at this critical moment!
"Protect the 'Star Spear'!"
Commander Saide roared!
The two closest Broadsword Attendants, without any hesitation, pushed their engines to maximum power.
They abandoned the enemies they were currently engaged with, one on the left and one on the right, and brazenly blocked the path between the Star Spear and the Decomposition Beams.
Hiss! Hiss!
The Decomposition Beams ruthlessly pierced through the weak Ion Shields the Broadsword Attendants had hastily raised and their relatively thin armor!
The chest of one Broadsword Attendant was directly penetrated, and the pilot inside did not even have time to scream before being decomposed into elementary particles along with the machine.
The right arm and half the torso of the other Broadsword Attendant melted away silently in the blue light, but its mangled frame still stood firmly in front of the Star Spear until it completely lost power, turning into a pile of twisted metal emitting wisps of smoke.
Their sacrifice was not in vain.
This brief obstruction and interference bought reaction time for the others.
