Chapter 767: Occupying the Cyberk Park (1)

~6 min read 1,150 words

Horus listened quietly to Vulkan's analysis and nodded in agreement.

Vulkan's considerations were entirely based on the long-term interests and power growth of Human Civilization, which was exactly how their father had always taught them.

"Your judgment is clear and farsighted, Vulkan."

Horus spoke in reply.

"Order confirmed: Occupy the target park.

Execute 'Lightning Capture' protocol: Primary objectives—ensure the integrity of the core refining facility, the Main Database, and the Nengliang Kuai Chucunku!

Prioritize paralyzing command, force field, and self-destruct systems.

Eliminate all resistance, including those 'raw materials'.

Have the Tech-Priests within the Titans prepare; once key areas are controlled, immediately conduct preliminary technical assessment and takeover!"

"For the future of humanity!"

Vulkan responded in a deep voice, cut the communication, turned to the Communications Officer, and issued the order.

"Transmit! Execute 'Lightning Capture' operation!

Warlord Titan, suppress peripheral defense nodes and suspected command centers with precision fire!

Reaver Titans and Warhound Titans, blockade evacuation routes, ready to destroy any heavy units attempting to reinforce or escape at any time!

Salamanders 1st Company and assault troops, prepare for a forced assault!

Tallarn troops, provide fire support from the rear and split off for assault.

Objectives: Core refining facility control room, Main Database, Nengliang Kuai Chucunku! Clear all Cyberk resistance, prioritize ensuring the structural safety of the target buildings!

Blood Angels 1st Company, responsible for flanking entry; if the frontal assault draws the attention of the Cyberk Aliens, then the Blood Angels 1st Company shall be responsible for occupying the important facilities of the Cyberk Aliens.

Tech-Priest squad, follow closely behind the assault team!

Let us seize this 'Alien Furnace' for Human Civilization!"

The order was given, and the entire advancing force began to rapidly relay Vulkan's commands.

In the rear, the weapon systems of the three Titans emitted a low hum, and the muzzles began to slowly adjust their angles.

Cyberk Elemental Energy Extraction Park.

Inside the metal Monitoring Room, the ghostly blue screens flickered.

A Cyberk analyst pointed to several rapidly moving, blurred heat source signals on one of the screens, which were sneaking along an abandoned pipeline area on the outskirts of the park.

"Unauthorized activity signal detected. Coordinates: Abandoned Pipeline Area. Quantity: 6. Non-Cyberk standard. Assessment: Enemy reconnaissance unit."

The Cyberk analyst posted this discovery to the Local Consciousness Network.

The Cyberk Commander responsible for the park's outer perimeter security received the message from the Local Consciousness Network and immediately responded.

"Eliminate the threat. Dispatch the 37th Assault Infantry Company to handle it. Requirement: Thorough elimination, leave no traces."

"Order confirmed. 37th Assault Infantry Company has been deployed."

After simply confirming the order, the Cyberk analyst continued to observe the production efficiency of the elemental energy bodies within the park.

Abandoned Pipeline Area.

Six soldiers of the Tallarn reconnaissance squad moved closely along the shadows of the rusted, massive pipes.

The Tallarn Captain made a gesture, and the team stopped immediately, almost blending into the surrounding twisted metal wreckage.

They wore brown military uniforms with white headscarves wrapped around their heads.

"Something's not right."

The Tallarn Captain whispered, his voice transmitted through the Communication Device by his ear.

"It's too quiet... The movement just now might have been discovered. 'Mole', deploy a 'Small Eye' to check behind us."

The Tallarn scout codenamed "Mole" quickly pulled a ping-pong ball-sized micro-reconnaissance drone from his backpack and gently tossed it above the pipe behind them.

The drone hovered and rose silently.

Suddenly, the urgent voice of "Mole" came through the Communication Device.

"Captain! Behind us! Cyberk! A whole squad! Three hundred meters away, approaching at high speed! They've found us!"

Almost simultaneously, the sound of metal friction and heavy footsteps came from the corner of the pipe behind them, getting closer and closer.

"Exposed! Retreat!"

The Tallarn Captain growled, then continued.

"Follow the backup route to Evacuation Point B! Move!"

The six Tallarn soldiers quickly popped out from the shadows and sprinted along the predetermined narrow passage.

They moved with agility, utilizing every piece of cover.

But the Cyberk assault company was faster.

"Zzzzt—!"

Dense blue energy beams tore through the air, striking the cover the Tallarn soldiers had just left, instantly melting through the metal and kicking up blinding sparks and scorching steam shrapnel.

"Pfft!"

A Tallarn soldier bringing up the rear was grazed on the shoulder armor; the immense impact force caused him to stagger, and he let out a muffled grunt.

"Lao Shi!"

The Tallarn soldier beside him tried to pull him up.

"Don't worry about me! Go!"

Lao Shi gritted his teeth to steady himself, raised his long-barreled Laser Gun, and fired a few shots toward the pursuers as suppression; the Laser Beams stirred up ripples of energy on the Energy Arm Shields raised by the Cyberk soldiers, but failed to stop their advance.

The Cyberk soldiers in the front row advanced steadily with shields raised, while the rear ranks fired.

Energy beams blocked the potential escape routes of the Tallarn squad.

A Tallarn soldier attempted to climb over a pile of rubble, exposing half of his body.

"Hiss!"

A thick blue Energy Beam instantly burned through his chest, sent his entire body flying, and slammed him heavily into the metal scrap, where he remained motionless.

"Damn it!"

The Tallarn Captain's eyes were wide with rage, but he dared not stop his pace.

Another Tallarn soldier was hit in the leg, fell down screaming, and was immediately engulfed by subsequent incoming Energy Beams.

The Tallarn Captain and the two remaining squad members were forced into a relatively open scrap yard, with tall abandoned reaction tanks on three sides and their only retreat blocked by a Cyberk company.

"Soldiers, prepare to give your lives for the Emperor!"

"Yes!"

Despair shrouded the surviving Tallarn soldiers.

The Tallarn Captain leaned his back against a massive, rusted tank, gripped the Laser Gun in his hand, and prepared to make his final stand.

Rumble, rumble, rumble—!!!

A low, violent roaring sound approached from afar, instantly drowning out the footsteps of the Cyberk soldiers and the sounds of their weapons charging.

Immediately after, a wall on the edge of the scrap yard, built from massive discarded metal plates, burst and collapsed inward with a boom.

Amidst the sky-filling dust and smoke, a massive figure wearing Dragon Scale, Vulkan, crashed directly inside.

Several Salamanders Space Marines wearing green Power Armor and wielding flamethrowers and Bolters charged out.

Behind them, the figures of more Salamanders Space Marines appeared behind the dust and smoke.

A low voice filled with power resounded across the entire battlefield through an external loudspeaker, drowning out all the noise.

"Cyberk scrap! Your tricks are over!"

Vulkan's gaze swept across the battlefield, instantly locking onto the besieged Tallarn soldiers and the encroaching Cyberk company.

He raised the iconic Power Hammer in his hand, and the hammer head erupted with a blinding Energy Force Field.

"Salamanders! Purge them! For Human Civilization, advance!"
