Chapter 99: Rescuing the Survivors

~7 min read 1,290 words

Just as Gray Fur was preparing to turn back to check, it suddenly felt a chill on its neck, and a hot stream gushed out. A wave of dizziness made it unsteady, but a strong arm supported it and slowly laid it down on the sentry tower.

Gray Fur saw that it was a strong Two-legged Sheep that had attacked it. It wanted to fire its gun at this Two-legged Sheep, but discovered that its body no longer had the strength. The dizziness in its brain gradually grew stronger, until at the very end, in its dying moments, that Two-legged Sheep had already disappeared.

"What is happening to me? Why, after one slash, is my body not listening to me? I..."

The death of Gray Fur kicked off the hunt in this Orc Camp.

The Catachan tough guys silently eliminated the patrolling Orcs and the Orc sentries standing guard in the darkness.

Afterward, they entered the camp and went into the tents of the Orcs, hand rising and blade falling, leaving these Orcs with no chance to wake up again.

Soon, a thick, bloody stench began to permeate the camp. This smell stimulated the leader of this camp—Dong'ang—to wake from his sleep. He opened his eyes, and the bloody stench grew even more intense.

"What is going on? Is someone slaughtering Two-legged Sheep outside?" Dong'ang slowly stood up, but as he prepared to walk out of the tent, an instinctive reaction made him stop his movement.

The two Catachan tough guys outside the tent saw that this awakened Orc was not coming out, so they stopped pretending, gripped the Catachan Combat Knives in their hands, and charged straight in.

They saw that the Orc inside had already put on Bulletproof Armor and was holding a Battle Axe.

"Roar! You damn Two-legged Sheep, you actually dare to attack my camp!"

Dong'ang let out an angry roar and raised the Battle Axe in his hand to hack at a Catachan tough guy; the Rune Battle Axe collided with the Catachan Combat Knife.

The scene Dong'ang imagined of hacking this Two-legged Sheep in half did not appear; it looked at the Two-legged Sheep before it in surprise.

But these two Catachan tough guys did not give him time to be surprised; the other Catachan directly stabbed his Combat Knife toward Dong'ang's neck from the side.

Dong'ang relied on his body's reflexes to dodge this strike. His eyes were bloodshot, and he roared angrily, "You lowly Two-legged Sheep, you only know how to play these dirty tricks; won't you fight one-on-one like real warriors!"

A Catachan tough guy dug at his ear and cursed, "F***, what is this f***ing thing saying? Can't understand it."

"Who cares what it's babbling about! F***, kill the bastard!"

The other Catachan tough guy raised his gun and fired at Dong'ang. The Laser Beam hit Dong'ang's Rune Bulletproof Armor, and a burst of Rune fluctuations flickered, blocking this attack.

The two Catachan tough guys fired with one hand and held their Combat Knives in the other, beginning to charge toward Dong'ang.

While Dong'ang was fighting one Catachan tough guy, it suddenly felt a slash on its thigh.

It saw the other Catachan tough guy holding a Small Black Knife, having wounded it.

Soon, Dong'ang felt it was unsteady on its feet and its head felt heavy. It tried hard to control its body, but it was useless.

With a "thump," Dong'ang fell to the ground. A Catachan tough guy walked up and used the Catachan Combat Knife in his hand to decapitate Dong'ang, ending its sinful life.

The two Catachan tough guys walked out of the tent. At this time in the camp, some Orcs had already been startled awake. The Catachan tough guys who had infiltrated no longer pretended and fired directly at these Orcs.

A Catachan tough guy carried a Flamer, and with one burn, there was a chorus of screams.

The air was filled with the smell of burnt meat; many Orcs became corpses before they could even grab their weapons.

A Catachan tough guy twisted the neck of an Orc that wanted to ambush him and skillfully used his right hand to fire at an Orc that wanted to shoot at him.

There were 1,000 Orcs in this camp. After infiltrating the camp, the Catachan tough guys assassinated nearly half of the Orcs in their sleep.

Although some Orcs were awakened later because of Dong'ang's shout and the thick bloody stench in the air, what greeted them was no longer cold Sharp Blades, but streaks of Laser Beams and raging flames.

The entire camp fell into chaos. These Catachan tough guys worked in small groups with clear divisions of labor, running these Orcs in circles throughout the camp.

With the last Orc falling to the ground, all the Orcs in the entire camp were dead; not a single Orc survived.

The group of Catachan tough guys arrived at the place where the Human survivors were being held. As soon as they entered, a foul, disgusting stench assaulted their nostrils.

But the Catachan tough guys did not care about these smells. They walked into the giant cage where the Humans were kept; the survivors inside were all huddled together.

Upon seeing people enter the cage, a glimmer of light appeared in the survivors' dull, lifeless eyes.

"Are you... here to save us?" an old man gathered his courage and asked, his voice trembling slightly.

Because these Catachan tough guys were currently covered in Orc blood, and some of the tough guys' Combat Knives were still dripping with Orc blood onto the ground, combined with the fierce and menacing expressions of the Catachan tough guys, the survivors here were so scared they couldn't stop trembling.

"It is the great Emperor who sent us to save you. The Emperor's mercy allows you to be reborn! You must remember, the reason you can survive now is because of the Emperor!"

The Catachan tough guy wearing a hat cleared his throat and said loudly to these survivors.

"Em... Emperor?" the old man muttered these two words.

"Emperor?" Although the survivors did not know who the Emperor these muscular tough guys spoke of was, just as these muscular tough guys said, they were saved now.

In the giant cage, there were over 1,200 survivors in total, all of whom were survivors from the Wastestone District of the Outer City.

These survivors saw the Orc limbs and remains all over the Orc camp, as well as the smoking Orcs burned into black charcoal; the air was a mixture of the smell of blood and burnt flesh.

But these survivors did not feel nauseated. Seeing the Orcs that brought them fear in this state now, some survivors spat fiercely on the corpses of those Orcs.

"I never thought anyone would actually care about us! They actually attacked the entire Orc camp for the sake of us commoners in the Outer City; they must have suffered heavy losses!" Among the survivors, a young man looked at the tragic scene in the Orc camp, then looked at the remaining 40-plus muscular tough guys, and had already imagined a tragic battle scene.

The surrounding survivors nodded after hearing his words.

The strength, barbarity, and cruelty of the Orcs were something they had all witnessed. To kill all the Orcs in the entire camp, this troop must have lost many elites.

And the Catachan tough guys escorting them did not know that these survivors had already imagined many strange and bizarre scenes regarding their attack on the Orc camp.

Over 1,200 people walked through the Wastestone District; the Catachan tough guys needed to take them to the Giant Cedar District and hand them over to those Guerrillas.
