Chapter 994: You Seem to Have a Misunderstanding of This Word

~6 min read 1,184 words

On the surface of planet L-449, in front of the ruins of the former Fengqi command post.

Eighth Company Commander Nasaer watched Fengqi Commander Las, who was being held down firmly by two Dusk Raiders warriors; although the latter had been disarmed and his Power Armor was in tatters, flames burned in his eyes as he glared at Nasaer and Tuodun.

Las spat out a mouthful of blood-stained saliva and roared.

"Pah! Don't even think about making me submit! There are no cowards among the warriors of the Feng Qi Xing Alliance!"

Tuodun stepped forward, waved his hand to signal the two Dusk Raiders warriors to release Las, and spoke.

"Your resistance is futile, Alien commander. Your fleet has been annihilated in orbit, and your ground forces are being swept away. You will pay the price for your erroneous actions!"

Las let out a shrill, manic laugh and gestured to the surrounding battlefield and corpses.

"The price? Hahaha! Look at all this! You butchers! Executioners! You destroyed my fleet and killed my soldiers! And now you talk to me about a price? I spit on it!"

Las straightened his body and looked at Tuodun.

"You are nothing but brutes relying on your equipment and physique! Do you dare, like a true warrior, to engage in a fair duel with me? Just you and me! Let us decide the final glory of this campaign in the most primitive way! Do you dare?!"

As soon as these words were spoken, the surrounding Dusk Raiders warriors stirred slightly.

Nasaer frowned and whispered to Tuodun over the communications channel.

"Tuodun, there is no need to pay attention to this death-throe provocation. Execute him directly; we still have a lot of cleanup work to do."

Tuodun did not answer immediately; after a few seconds of silence, he drew his Power Sword.

"I accept your challenge, Alien commander. I will make you understand that the Emperor's warriors are the undisputed overlords on any battlefield. Your challenge will only accelerate your demise."

Seeing that Tuodun had actually accepted the challenge, Las picked up a High-Frequency Power Sword dropped by a fallen Guardian from the ground and assumed a standard offensive stance.

"Come! Let me see how much you are worth!"

Without any extra nonsense, the battle erupted!

Las exerted force through his feet, ice shards flew, his Power Armor roared, and he charged at Tuodun, the Power Sword in his hand thrusting directly at the vital point of Tuodun's breastplate!

Tuodun's reaction was faster!

With just a slight sidestep, the Power Sword in his hand swept upward, blocking Las's strike!

"Clang!"

Sparks flew everywhere!

The massive recoil made Las's arm go numb, and he was horrified in his heart; the opponent's strength far exceeded his estimates!

Las dared not fight head-on and used the momentum to leap backward, trying to open up the distance.

Tuodun stepped forward, his Power Sword turning into an arc of light, sweeping across Las's waist!

Las raised his sword to parry, every collision causing his blood to surge.

He tried to find a flaw in Tuodun, but the opponent's swordsmanship was steady and seasoned, combining offense and defense, and he could find no opening at all.

"What is wrong? Alien! Is this all your courage amounts to?"

Tuodun looked at Las's disheveled appearance and mocked him.

Las gritted his teeth and risked exposing a flaw; when Tuodun slashed over with his sword, he did not block completely, but instead used his shoulder armor to take the brunt of the force while the Power Sword in his hand thrust toward the seam of Tuodun's neck armor!

"Got you!"

The Power Sword in Tuodun's hand suddenly changed direction, the hilt knocking against the spine of the sword Las had thrust, deflecting it, while his left hand formed a fist and smashed into Las's chest!

"Bang!"

Amidst a dull, thunderous sound, Las flew backward, crashing onto the frozen, hard ground, blood spraying from his mouth and nose.

The Power Sword in his hand also flew out of his grip, embedding itself in the snow in the distance.

Tuodun walked with heavy steps to Las, who was struggling to crawl up, and pointed the tip of his sword at his throat.

"You... you..."

Las coughed up blood, his eyes filled with unwillingness.

He had not expected the gap between himself and his opponent to be so vast, to the point where he could not even trade his life for an injury.

Tuodun looked down at Las from above and said in a calm tone.

"Your valor is worth acknowledging, Alien. But it is a pity that you stood on the opposite side of Humanity and the Emperor. Your race shall eventually be purged."

Having said this, the Power Sword in Tuodun's hand thrust down, piercing Las's throat and pinning him to the frozen earth.

Las's body twitched violently a few times before finally becoming completely still, the light in his eyes rapidly fading.

Tuodun pulled out his Power Sword, shook the blood droplets off the blade, and looked around.

All the Dusk Raiders warriors who witnessed this brief duel watched their Company Commander in silence.

Tuodun issued his orders.

"Clear the battlefield and confirm that all Aliens have been purged. Report to orbit that the main resistance forces and the commander on the surface have been eliminated."

With the death of Commander Las, the remaining Fengqi garrison on the surface of planet L-449 completely lost unified command.

Sporadic fighting continued in some corners, but under the methodical mopping-up of the Dusk Raiders' Seventh and Eighth Companies, these resistances were soon extinguished.

Tuodun said to the Communications Officer beside him.

"Report to the Primarch: the surface of planet L-449 has been retaken. All Alien resistance forces have been purged. The blood feud of the Sixth Company has been avenged."

Luna Wolves "Zhonghun", interrogation room.

Horus changed into a set of relatively light casual attire and stood calmly on one side of the room.

The heavy alloy door slid open silently. Two fully armed Luna Wolves Space Marines escorted a figure inside.

It was none other than Lieutenant General Horn, the commander of this Feng Qi Xing Alliance fleet.

Horn was roughly pressed into a seat, and the magnetic locks closed automatically, securing his hands and feet.

The two Luna Wolves Space Marines retreated to the door and stood motionless.

Horus paced slowly, walked in front of Horn, and scrutinized him.

"Heretic name, Horn, rank Lieutenant General, Chief of Staff of the Feng Qi Xing Alliance Southern Theater. We finally meet."

Horn raised his head, struggling to straighten his spine, attempting not to lose ground in terms of presence, and spoke with a sarcastic tone.

"Executioners of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance. Truly... a great honor. Is this the hospitality of you 'liberators'? Or should I say, is your so-called 'liberation' carried out with artillery fire and butcher knives?"

Horus did not grow angry at his sarcasm, merely shaking his head slightly.

"Hospitality only applies to guests, not invaders, Horn. As for 'liberation'... you seem to have a misunderstanding of this word."
