Chapter 8: Demon Fetus

~7 min read 1,391 words

At night, seven or eight men stood at the gate of the Nangong Mansion. The leader was broad-shouldered and thick-waisted, with thick eyebrows and big eyes, and was over fifty years old. He was the head of the Nangong family, Nangong Wudi.

Following Nangong Wudi were two young men. The two men had clear eyebrows and handsome eyes, slender figures, wearing brocade clothes and holding folding fans, with identical jade pendants hanging from their waists. The two men looked very similar, clearly brothers.

Behind the three were seven or eight servants, each of them burly, dressed in black, clean and neat.

It seemed the whole Nangong family was waiting for someone at the door.

After the time it takes for a stick of incense to burn, the people Nangong Wudi was waiting for arrived.

Three middle-aged men in black robes walked into the Nangong family like ghosts.

The three were in black robes, with the robes connected to hoods, and the hoods wrapped their entire heads. They were pinned under the neck with a pin, and the tail of the pin had a silver long-horned skull mark. They all wore unified ghost-head broadswords hanging from their waists. The broadswords were unsheathed, and the nine iron rings on the back of the swords made a 'ding-dang-dang' sound as the three walked.

The three walked all the way, their feet not touching the ground, and there was no obvious trace of moving their legs, as if they had moved to the door horizontally. The three had excellent light-body skills.

Nangong Wudi saw the three enter the gate and hurriedly bowed to welcome them: "Old man welcomes the three envoys." Then he took out a brocade box from his body and handed it to the leading man in black: "A small token, not worth mentioning."

The leading man in black lifted his face. It was gray and white, without eyebrows, and there was also a long-horned skull mark between his eyebrows. The man in black weighed the brocade box in his hand: "Is it a son-in-law again this time?"

Nangong Wudi hurriedly bent down and replied: "Envoy, don't worry, this time my daughter and son-in-law have deep feelings. Killing the son-in-law in front of my daughter will definitely make her heartbroken."

Black-robed Envoy: "This won't work for you guys. It's always a son-in-law, and it always fails to form a Demon Fetus. We can't report back either. If it doesn't work this time, we'll have to kill your wife. It's been so many years, and you've always been half-hearted. The higher-ups are very angry."

"Envoy is right, I think it will definitely work this time. The way the two of them are in love, even I envy them." Nangong Wudi gave a wink to his eldest son behind him, and the eldest son immediately took out another brocade box and handed it to the black-robed Envoy.

Black-robed Envoy weighed the brocade box: "Still Nine Yang Pills?"

Nangong Wudi: "Exactly, and absolutely from the hands of Shi Buli."

Black-robed Envoy: "Fine, I'll reluctantly kill your son-in-law so I have something to report back."

Meng Su in the bridal chamber looked curiously at the bride. The bride seemed to feel Meng Su's gaze, and her body trembled faintly.

Meng Su was bored and began to pester the bride.

"Is wife a young lady of the Nangong family?"

"How old is wife, why keep choosing a son-in-law?"

"Wife, where did your previous husbands go? Did you divorce them?"

The bride's body began to tremble violently.

"Wife, can we not consummate the marriage today? I... haven't prepared yet."

The bride finally snapped: "Shut up, ignorant thing! If you don't want to die, just wait properly. No one will care about you in a while."

"That's not very auspicious. We're newlyweds, after all. Don't worry, wife, I won't die. Let me tell you, I've died many times, but I just can't die. Isn't that annoying?" Meng Su continued to babble.

Just as Meng Su was about to speak, a gust of cold wind blew, and three men in black appeared in the bridal chamber. They were the three envoys.

Meng Su sat on the bed, looking relaxed, his legs crossed, shaking while eating melon seeds.

Meng Su looked at the three men in black and wondered: "Brothers, you've come to the wrong place. This is the bridal chamber for me and your young lady. If you want to tease the newlyweds, dress a bit more festive. This all-black outfit looks like you're going to a funeral, how unlucky."

The Envoy looked at the bride with her head lowered. Strangely, the bride suddenly calmed down and stopped trembling.

"Nangong Xiaoyan, are you sure he is the person you love most? Will it definitely work this time?"

Only then did Meng Su know that the bride's name was Nangong Xiaoyan.

"Love or not, what does it matter? If I say I don't know him, can you let us go?"

"Bold! How dare you talk back to the Ghost Envoy? Is this how Nangong Wudi taught you? Are you waiting for your clan to be exterminated?" The man in black behind the Envoy shouted at Nangong Xiaoyan.

Meng Su: "Stop, stop, stop. Who are you? Enemies?"

Meng Su turned to look at Nangong Xiaoyan: "Wife, this isn't very kind of you. This must be your ex-boyfriend sending people to your door. This is giving me a green hat! I'm not doing this anymore."

Black-robed Envoy: "Nangong Xiaoyan, if it weren't for the twenty Nine Yang Pills from your father, do you think we would recognize the person you found? Everyone knows it. I hope you can find someone you truly love next time."

Hearing about the Nine Yang Pills, Meng Su's heart suddenly moved, his eyebrows twitched, his thoughts surged, and he suddenly felt that the man in black had something he wanted. This feeling exceeded the feeling he had for Huang Tianba last time. Meng Su suddenly stared at the Envoy in front of him like a wolf.

A burst of evil desire rushed into Meng Su's brain instantly, and Meng Su breathed heavily, his eyes turning red.

Controlled by this desire, Meng Su slowly stood up, and a cold aura emanated from him, blowing the candles in front of him until they were swaying.

The Envoy felt Meng Su's momentum and turned to look at Meng Su: "Kid, it's useless to be afraid. You probably don't know your mission yet. Don't worry, my blade is very fast."

Nangong Xiaoyan suddenly began to tremble again. When the trembling reached its peak, Nangong Xiaoyan lifted her head cover, revealing a heroic face. She had a bright dagger in her hand and pounced on the Envoy in front.

"It's not going to be good anyway, at worst I'll die. I'll fight you!" Nangong Xiaoyan shouted.

The black-robed Envoy didn't even move, turned his head to look at his companion and smiled: "Nangong old man didn't seem to be lying, this woman really has feelings for this kid, we can report back."

Nangong Xiaoyan's dagger had just reached the Envoy's face, and before the Envoy moved, two gray-white fingers appeared in front of the dagger, clamped it, and twisted it. Nangong Xiaoyan's dagger slipped from her hand, and the Envoy kicked Nangong Xiaoyan. Nangong Xiaoyan was kicked onto the bed behind, directly crushing the carved bed.

Nangong Xiaoyan spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.

The two maids quickly pulled out short knives from their bodies and pounced on the Envoy in front. The Envoy tilted his body slightly, let one knife pass, then flicked his finger on the other short knife, snapping it in two, and then slapped one maid on the abdomen. The maid was slapped three or four meters away, directly in front of Meng Su.

Meng Su grabbed the maid's body, turned around, placed the maid on the bed, picked up the candle on the Eight Immortals table, and without any posturing, appeared in front of the Envoy. Then he stabbed the Envoy's face with the candle holder in his hand.

"Deep affection, good... good... good job." The Envoy was unhurried. He blew at the candle flame.

The candle flame suddenly turned into a green flame, and the flame grew wildly, rushing toward Meng Su's face. ===== CHAPTER 9 =====
