Chapter 11: Wisdom Cube Adaptation Rate Detection

The Wisdom Cube adaptation rate detection tool is a tool for testing whether a person has the qualifications to become a commander. Since shipgirls in this world are basically built by commanders from Wisdom Cubes, lacking Wisdom Cube adaptation rate means one cannot summon shipgirls from the Wisdom Cube.

Although there are many free shipgirls in this world, no free shipgirl would choose someone without Wisdom Cube adaptation rate as a commander, because a person without Wisdom Cube adaptation rate cannot even form the simplest contract.

"Did you hear what I just told you?" the Prince of Wales said to Qin Ge.

"Hmm, place your hand on the Wisdom Cube of this device; if the Wisdom Cube reacts, it means you have adaptation rate to it, and if not, it means you cannot be a commander." Qin Ge nodded and repeated the Prince of Wales's earlier words.

"Hmm, then good luck." the Prince of Wales smiled and said to Qin Ge.

Qin Ge nodded, walked to the front of the detection device, looked at this rather complex device, and placed his hand on the clear blue Wisdom Cube at the top.

Under the gaze of the Prince of Wales and Fushun beside him, the clear Wisdom Cube began to change. Starting from colorless, it gradually turned white; when white filled the entire Wisdom Cube, it suddenly turned blue, then purple, and finally a golden light shone through the Wisdom Cube, causing the Prince of Wales beside him to smile and nod.

Until the golden light filled the entire Wisdom Cube, while a different hue appeared at the cube's center; this subtle change naturally did not escape the keen senses of the Prince of Wales.

"That's enough!" she called out hastily, and Qin Ge obediently lifted his hand from the Wisdom Cube adaptation rate detection device, watching the golden light on the Wisdom Cube begin to fade, then looked toward the Prince of Wales.

"Congratulations, you have the qualifications to become a commander, and your Wisdom Cube adaptation rate is special grade, meaning you can use the Wisdom Cube to build shipgirls ranging from ordinary to super rare." the Prince of Wales said, smiling and nodding at Qin Ge.

Having received this affirmation, Qin Ge breathed a sigh of relief; just as he was about to speak, Fushun beside him said to the Prince of Wales, "Dean, the color that just appeared… isn't it…"

"So what if it is?" the Prince of Wales directly interrupted Fushun, "Such shipgirls are rare to encounter but impossible to seek; rather than hoping for their appearance, it's better to treat them as nonexistent, so there will be no regret or other emotions."

Fushun, hearing the Prince of Wales's words, nodded involuntarily, "What you say is not wrong; after all, no one in history has been able to summon that kind of shipgirl…"

"What do you mean?" Qin Ge, feeling a bit lost, looked at the two's conversation, seemingly because of his own performance just now.

"Nothing." the Prince of Wales smiled and said to Qin Ge, "There's one more thing I haven't told you: although the Wisdom Cube adaptation rate test indicates you can summon super rare shipgirls, it doesn't guarantee you will summon super rare shipgirls, understand? Because everyone's luck differs; sometimes a big build is a gamble—win, and everyone rejoices; lose, and a period of accumulation may come to nothing. Therefore, for the healthy development of your fleet later, each big build must be undertaken with absolute clarity, not blindly.

Moreover, many commanders die on the battlefield because they spend too many resources on big builds, causing their fleet's development to become unbalanced, and combined with various situations at sea, this ultimately leads to their demise. Do you remember that?

Hearing the Prince of Wales's words, Qin Ge nodded, "I understand!"

"Very good, you are a smart person, and you also know some aspects of battle tactics, so I have high hopes for your future performance." the Prince of Wales smiled.

"Thank you, Dean!" Qin Ge replied.

"Hmm." the Prince of Wales glanced at Qin Ge's backpack placed aside, "You just arrived in Shenhua City today?"

"Yes." Qin Ge nodded.

"Do you have any relatives or friends in Shenhua City?" the Prince of Wales asked.

"No, I've always been alone." Qin Ge laughed openly.

"In that case…" the Prince of Wales thought, "From now on you will be an assistant teacher, so you will live in the staff area; I will have Fushun take you to see your quarters later. Moreover, tomorrow morning I will take you to conduct your first big build, which also counts as a benefit of your assistant teacher position. Get along well with your initial shipgirl, and for the next two years you will spend your time together with her!"

"Well… I actually don't need special treatment…" Qin Ge said to the Prince of Wales.

The Prince of Wales chuckled lightly, "The reason I let you live in the staff area is because it's closest to the library, making it easy for you to look up materials and prepare lessons. Summoning a shipgirl in advance is merely a benefit, and also facilitates combining with your own shipgirl as a practice of battle tactics theory. Moreover, the first thing for new students upon enrollment is to summon their initial shipgirl, so this is not special treatment."

"I see, sorry for misunderstanding your intention." Qin Ge quickly apologized.

"It's fine, and your refusal of special treatment is also an excellent quality." the Prince of Wales said, turning to look at Fushun, "Fushun, take Qin Ge to arrange a house in the staff area, then explain to him the matters the academy needs to pay attention to, let him rest early today, and I'll come by again tomorrow."

"Yes, Dean." Fushun said cheerfully, then turned his head and smiled at Qin Ge, "Qin Ge Commander, come with me."

"Thank you." Qin Ge laughed, thanked Fushun, then bade farewell to the Prince of Wales and followed Fushun out of the office.

While the Prince of Wales watched the two leave, he couldn't help but let out a long sigh, gazing toward the direction of the Wisdom Cube adaptation rate detection device, "Sea Legend? Heh, I really don't know if I'll have a chance in this lifetime to witness one…"

As for Sea Legend shipgirls, no one has ever seen their figures, because they have never appeared in this world, but it can be certain that such a rank of shipgirls does indeed exist.

The Prince of Wales's sigh is naturally because she knows of the existence of Sea Legend‑class shipgirls, but this knowledge is merely an consciousness engraved in the Wisdom Cube; she herself has never seen a true Sea Legend. However, she is very willing to believe that one day Sea Legends will appear before humanity, bringing their unmatched strength to lead mankind toward victory.

…

…

"Isn't this a bit too luxurious? This is practically a small villa; one person living in such a big house…" At this moment, Qin Ge stood in front of a house and, feeling somewhat emotional, said to his companion Fushun.
