Chapter 142: Banquet Confirmation

~6 min read 1,097 words

"Huh?" Qin Ge stared blankly at the Prince of Wales, "You want me to handle it?"

"That's right." The Prince of Wales nodded. "In previous New Years, everyone just did their own thing. Donghuang was a small group, and others just tagged along, so things were pretty loose. Basically just eating and chatting."

"So this time I thought of holding this banquet under the Academy's name. I believe others would be happy to hear it, so you don't need to worry about personnel and equipment—just handle the planning and rehearsal."

Qin Ge nodded. "Perfect, I just summoned a banquet host; I believe she'll do this even better."

"The summoned ship Hiei—I naturally trust her abilities, but if we combine her abilities with your memories, I think that would be an unparalleled New Year's gala!" said the Prince of Wales.

"Since the Dean has already said that, if I refuse again it would seem ungrateful." Qin Ge smiled and nodded. "Leave the rest to me, but you need to arrange someone who can speak up for me; the Dean doesn't need to come in person."

"Heh, are you worried I'll feel pressured being around you?" the Prince of Wales chuckled.

"Not at all, my Commander—I'm worried that if the Prince's charm is too strong and you want him to join our fleet, refusing would hurt feelings." Guanghui said to the Prince of Wales at that moment, smiling.

"Guanghui, we've been old friends for over a decade, right? Now that you've joined Qin Ge's fleet, you're speaking up for him? Even I, your old friend, shouldn't be playing matchmaker in Donghuang terms?" the Prince of Wales teased.

"Well, my Commander is a bit clumsy with words, so I hope the Prince will excuse him." Guanghui smiled. "But Prince, the term 'matchmaker' isn't appropriate, after all I and my Commander haven't sworn an oath yet."

The conversation between Guanghui and the Prince of Wales didn't bother them, but it made Qin Ge beside them blush bright red, after all he still knows what a matchmaker is.

"Forget it, I won't interfere then. Qin Ge, who are you planning to get as your advisor?" the Prince of Wales asked.

"Mikasa senior, she's not only one of the first instructors to enter the Commander Academy, but she also gets along well with others in the Academy." Qin Ge regained his composure and told the Prince of Wales.

"Hmm, Mikasa is indeed a great choice; I thought you'd pick Yixian." said the Prince of Wales.

"I've considered others too, but considering the food for the banquet later, I believe no one in the Academy could do better than Yixian." Qin Ge told the Prince of Wales.

"That's indeed true, so let's do that. Starting tomorrow we'll begin preparations; ideally everyone prepares a performance, making it livelier. I'll notify Mikasa's side accordingly." said the Prince of Wales.

"Does the Dean also need to prepare a performance?" Qin Ge asked, smiling.

"Of course, after all the Prince is the initiator of this event, so she'll naturally prepare her own performance." Guanghui said with a smile.

"Heh, since Guanghui is so eager, what's wrong with preparing a performance?" After saying that to Guanghui, the Prince of Wales turned to Qin Ge, "First put my name down; I'll tell you the performance once I've decided."

Qin Ge nodded. "No problem then."

"Alright, then I won't disturb you. The rest is up to you to handle." The Prince of Wales said, then glanced at the fleet girls following behind Qin Ge.

"Also, let's find you a new place to live. If you keep building at this pace, by the time you leave the Academy you'll already have a fleet of dozens. If too scattered, it'll affect the cohesion and feelings among you."

"So where does the Dean plan to let us stay?" Qin Ge asked the Prince of Wales, puzzled.

The Prince of Wales thought. "You should know there's a building at the outer edge of the staff area, right?"

"Oh, I know—it's said to be the building that used to host visiting commanders and fleet girls, quite large. Isn't the newest guesthouse now located near the auditorium?" Qin Ge nodded. "Does that mean the Dean wants to give us that building?"

"Not bad—although that building is no longer used, its facilities are still complete." The Prince of Wales said. "Next I'll go find Ninghai to get the guesthouse key for you; then you can stay there. No need to live separately, which would look tense."

Qin Ge nodded. "That would be best, and I've heard the environment there is also good—I really thank the Dean."

"No problem, this is what you deserve. By teaching strategy and tactics here, you've inadvertently changed many things at our school. Rest assured, the benefits our Academy has gained are far greater than yours." said the Prince of Wales.

"Is the Prince talking about the status gained from the Donghuang Navy Command?" Guanghui suddenly realized and said to the Prince of Wales.

"That's right." The Prince of Wales nodded. "The key is the increase in say, after all we're now cooperating with humanity, and we often have to consider both sides' interests."

"After Qin Ge appeared, having experienced the previous Siren Tide, our Commander Academy, and even our fleet girls, have gained more say. These are hard to obtain with supplies and such, so mentioning this, I truly want you to stay at the Academy."

"But given Qin Ge's personality, he probably won't just stay at the Academy."

"Heh." Qin Ge chuckled.

"So you have more room to develop; on future battlefields, for the Azure Lane Naval Headquarters, for the Commander Academy, and for yourselves, you can achieve greater victories." said the Prince of Wales.

"Rest assured, our goal is victory—driving the Sirens out of near seas and even eliminating them in the far seas." Qin Ge told the Prince of Wales.

"Hmm, everything's settled. After this I'll have Mikasa come find you, including Ninghai." The Prince of Wales stood up, said to Qin Ge, then walked toward the door.

Qin Ge and Guanghui hurried forward to see them off; after everyone said their goodbyes and left, the two then entered the room.

"So Commander, should we wait for Ninghai to come, or first arrange lodging for Hiei and her group?" Guanghui said to Qin Ge.

"Wait a bit; given Ninghai's nature, once she gets the Dean's notice she'll rush over right away." Qin Ge thought. "In the meantime we should also pack our stuff—we'll probably have to move there tonight."

"Mm."
