Chapter 144: Tidying the New Home
Stepping onto the second floor, I saw that the stairs on the second floor faced directly opposite; contrary to Qin Ge's expectation of an immediate room, it was instead a lounge resembling a common rest area.
The lounge was decorated in warm tones, equipped not only with a TV and magazine rack but also with a bar in the corner where one could brew tea, mix drinks, and so on.
In the middle were two sets each consisting of a single sofa and a table, while at the far end there were two rows of sofas plus coffee tables; overall it looked very cozy and comfortable.
On either side of the lounge were two corridors leading to the various rooms; due to layout constraints, each corridor had eight rooms, making a total of sixteen rooms on the second floor.
"This environment is really nice—there's no old, worn‑out feel at all. It looks like Ninghai had been taking good care of this place." Qin Ge looked at the furnishings and smiled as he said.
"Yes, it feels much better than the small villa we lived in before—at the very least it feels very spacious and not cramped." Weineituo also felt very satisfied with this place.
"But it looks like cleaning this place will take a while, after all no one has lived here for a long time." Guanghui said, glancing at the dust on the walkway.
Qin Ge smiled and nodded, "Then we'll first pick our rooms, and after the rooms are chosen we'll clean together."
"Good!" everyone replied with laughter.
"Then who gets to choose first?" Luodenni asked the group.
"Of course the commander should choose first, after all, according to Donghuang's saying, the commander is the head of our household, so naturally he should pick first." Guanghui said with a smile.
"No, we don't do that. This time ladies first—you choose, and after you've picked I'll choose." Qin Ge said.
"Commander, if you choose, you choose; if you don't, nobody else will, after all you're the coordinates and center of our fleet." Ou Gen Qin Wang said lightly to Qin Ge.
"Er." Qin Ge glanced at the fleet girls; indeed they were all looking at him, waiting for his decision.
"In that case, I'll take the room farthest in on the right side of the stairs." Qin Ge told everyone.
"Then I'll live opposite the commander." Guanghui reacted instantly and then smiled.
"I'll live next to the commander." Banrenma said, voice shy but firm.
"Then I'll live next to Miss Guanghui." Luodenni laughed.
"I'll live next to Prince Ou Gen." Ou Gen Qin Wang said.
"I'll live next to Prince Ou Gen as well; this place is closer to the first floor, so I can go down for a bath anytime." Weineituo smiled.
While listening to the fleet girls each confirm their lodgings, Qin Ge kept his attention on the usually silent Hai Lun Na. Seeing she had no intention to speak, he spoke up: "Hai Lun Na will room next to Luodenni, and Ling Bo will room next to Hai Lun Na."
Seeing Qin Ge speak, Hai Lun Na startled a moment, then said to him, "Commander, actually I could stay on the other side."
"No problem, this is the lodging I arranged; you'll stay with us. As for Nengdai, Biyu, and Belfast, please take the rooms on the left side of the stairs." Qin Ge said to the three.
"Hmm." The few people, being perceptive, naturally understood what Qin Ge's move meant.
Hai Lun Na had spoken little since the ship's completion, yet she was clearly not a emotionless girl like Ling Bo; her worry was visible to all. Therefore Qin Ge arranged for her to live together with everyone, and the three of them naturally had no complaints.
As for Ling Bo, there's no need to say more. Qin Ge had been most worried about her in the fleet, so placing her at the far end is quite understandable.
So once the rooms were decided, everyone began picking up tools nearby and started cleaning the rooms.
However, not long after they started, Qin Ge called Guanghui to a stop. He had personally seen Guanghui carrying a basin of water, swaying as she walked, her center of gravity leaning forward, looking like she was about to fall.
Then Qin Ge rushed over to catch her, looking at her extremely voluptuous figure, and said to Guanghui, "Guanghui, don't carry water or clean; just stay by my side and hand me things, okay?"
Guanghui blushed and said to Qin Ge, "Commander, I'm really sorry."
"It's nothing to apologize for; I didn't consider you, and making you do this really is difficult for you." Qin Ge said with a smile.
"Commander, it's fine. Actually I also wanted to help clean with everyone, but I'm just like this…" Guanghui said to Qin Ge.
"Hehe, Guanghui is a Royal lady; just keep your elegance, and I'll take care of this kind of work." Qin Ge laughed, finished speaking, then picked up his tool and began cleaning.
Meanwhile Guanghui stood to the side, watching Qin Ge clean, and broke into a bright smile.
If Guanghui's limitation stems from her ordinary form appearing frail, plus her forward‑shifted center of gravity preventing her from doing physical labor, then Weineituo's side is simply that she has no idea how to clean at all.
At that moment Belfast entered and said to Weineituo, "Good afternoon, Miss Weineituo; I've already cleaned half of the lounge, you can rest there first, and I'll take care of cleaning the rooms."
"Belfast, thank you so much; regarding cleaning the rooms, I really am willing but unable." Weineituo said somewhat embarrassedly to Belfast.
"No problem, these are originally a maid's duties. Besides, I've already placed some snacks and tea over there for anyone to help themselves." Belfast said to Weineituo.
Weineituo nodded, set down her tools neatly, and stepped out of the room. She wasn't cut out for housework anyway; better to let professionals handle it so as not to cause trouble for others.
However, when Weineituo passed by, she already saw someone sitting there.
"Ling Bo?" Weineituo asked with a smile, "You don't tidy rooms either?"
Ling Bo nodded, "Ling Bo only knows training and fighting… and playing games."
"That's great; otherwise I'd be sitting here alone, which would be rather awkward." Weineituo said to Ling Bo, her tone full of relief.
"Drink tea…?" Ling Bo lifted the kettle and said to Weineituo.
"Thank you."
Thus, with some people busy and others chatting, the cleaning proceeded in an orderly manner.
Throughout the corridor, the sounds of moving furniture and beating bedding filled the air, and from time to time a burst of laughter could be heard…
