Chapter 43: Inquiry

You really are just a freshman? No way, the entrance ceremony hasn't even started yet, so there shouldn't be any freshman commanders who have done the first initial build.

But you already have two shipgirls, and they're both Super Rare Shipgirls, and the ID badge you're wearing—isn't that an instructor's badge?" Wu Hao said incredulously.

It seems you know quite a bit." Qin Ge smiled and said, "But I can only tell you that my situation is a bit special. Before this batch of freshmen had joined the Commander Academy, I arrived at the academy over a week early and became a freshman commander.

As for the rest, I believe you'll find out everything at tomorrow's opening ceremony.

Wu Hao nodded. "Indeed, after tomorrow's opening ceremony you'll learn everything. But before I became a commander, I was a reporter, so may I ask you one more small question?"

Qin Ge chuckled and said, "Go ahead."

You're wearing an instructor's ID badge, and the only vacant position in the academy is in the Strategy and Tactics Course, so are you our new instructor for the Strategy and Tactics Course?

Actually, when Wu Hao asked that question, he himself didn't quite believe it, after all, no rookie has ever become an instructor. Those who can become instructors are commanders of the rank of colonel or higher.

But Qin Ge in front of him firmly said, "I am indeed related to the Strategy and Tactics Course, but I am not its instructor; I am its assistant teacher."

"What...?" Wu Hao exclaimed in surprise, "Really it's you?"

Qin Ge smiled, adjusted the chest badge on himself, and said to Wu Hao, "As you can see."

Only saw the words 'Strategy and Tactics Course Assistant Teacher' written in large characters on the chest badge; Wu Hao immediately gaped, but behind him, Gelidelii quickly and cleverly raised a camera and snapped a photo of Qin Ge.

"Er..." Qin Ge momentarily looked at the two, speechless.

Wu Hao saw Qin Ge's expression and hurriedly explained, "Gelidelii is used to taking candid shots; I'll have her delete the photo."

Qin Ge was speechless; he also knew some of Gelidelii's hobbies, so he knew Wu Hao was telling the truth, and thus didn't dwell on it, after all it wasn't a big deal.

It's fine, just not used to being suddenly photographed.

Then, Assistant Teacher Qin Ge, I won't disturb your meal; I'll head over first." Wu Hao said to Qin Ge.

Qin Ge smiled and nodded, "Alright, see you tomorrow."

Mm, see you tomorrow." After saying that, Wu Hao left Qin Ge's position and walked back the way he had come.

The Banrenma beside him said to Qin Ge, "Commander, is there no problem with this?"

Qin Ge waved his hand and said to her, "It's fine; after all, such things will happen many times in the future, and this identity of mine isn't a secret either. Once they see it more often, they'll get used to it."

"Hehe, the commander is really broad-minded." The Banrenma smiled.

Qin Ge shrugged and said, "This is also unavoidable. Since I've accepted the assistant teacher position from the dean, I must fulfill the duties of an assistant teacher."

"Mm, I and senior Nengdai will also strive to support the commander." The Banrenma smiled, and beside her, Nengdai also nodded at Qin Ge.

"Hehe, I've received your feelings. But for now, let's finish our meal; we won't go training this afternoon, just rest well. Starting tomorrow we'll have formal classes." Qin Ge smiled at the two.

"Mm, commander." The Banrenma and Nengdai both nodded in agreement.

When the few people started eating, Wu Hao returned to the table where he had originally been. Someone saw him approach, hurriedly pulled him to sit down, and asked, "How's it going? Did you find out anything?"

Wu Hao nodded. "I found out; he's indeed a freshman commander."

"Huh? Really a freshman? How is that possible? How does he already have shipgirls, and what's with that chest badge?" One person exclaimed in surprise.

Wu Hao replied, "According to what he said, he must have arrived at the academy over a week ago, and his current identity is assistant teacher of the Strategy and Tactics Course. So likely it was around that time that he summoned the shipgirls? He didn't go into detail, though; he just said that once tomorrow's opening ceremony arrives, we'll know everything."

"Tsk, he really is from the Strategy and Tactics Course..." A commander beside them looked at Qin Ge in the distance and said, "But do you think he can teach well? Instructor Deng was previously a colonel-level commander, and now they've replaced him with a newcomer."

Wu Hao shook his head. "Whether he can teach well or not is naturally up to the academy's consideration. Since the dean has let him serve as assistant teacher of the Strategy and Tactics Course, he surely has his strengths. But I think what you should be worried about isn't that; tomorrow we can do a big build—have you prepared the supplies and cubes?"

Upon hearing that, that person's face fell. "We've prepared them, but it's a bit short... You know I borrowed some from the academy when I did my big build earlier, so this time I have to repay it before I can proceed with the big build."

"Wasn't it said that as long as you repay before graduation it's fine? Why the rush to repay?" A group of people were puzzled by his behavior.

"It's not because the previous big build consumed too many cubes and supplies? Although during the break, because I took on several commissions, I did accumulate some."

"But I don't want to squander all these resources in one big build; I have some awareness of my own luck, so I want to first repay what I owe the academy before doing a big build."

"Whether we succeed in building it or not, it's fine either way; we still have a whole school year to slowly complete tasks and accumulate, after all." That person said.

"Indeed, moreover, I want to ask you all a question: you said the two shipgirls of the newly arrived assistant teacher are both Super Rare Shipgirls, so how many times has he built?" One person asked with a smile.

"You don't want to know." Immediately, the faces of several people darkened, and they said speechlessly.

"Eh..."

"Anyone who manages to build a gold ship is a European Dog; no matter their status, this fact cannot be changed." One person said through gritted teeth.

"Right, and besides, both of his shipgirls are Super Rare Shipgirls; he's definitely a European Dog, not on our side..." Another also said through gritted teeth.

"..."

Of course, Qin Ge, sitting there, knew nothing of these matters at all; even if he did, he wouldn't go around boasting about his two draws resulting in two Super Rare Shipgirls.

After all, the more familiar one becomes, the more naturally one knows some of the unspoken rules among commanders. Moreover, he couldn't guarantee that his next build would also yield a Super Rare Shipgirl, so it's best not to make a fuss. He still knows the saying 'the bird that sticks its head out gets shot.'
