Chapter 603: Promise
Qin Ge's work didn't last long before a knocking sound came.
"Come in," Qin Ge said, looking up.
A red figure entered from the office door, surprising Qin Ge. "Huh, Tiancheng? I don't recall our last conversation—you said your term as secretary ship wasn't until next month, right?"
"You have a good memory, my lord," Tiancheng smiled. "Indeed, as you said, before me was Saint Joan, but she isn't in Gangqu now, so by succession it's my turn."
Qin Ge nodded. "I see, then you'll be busy these days."
"No problem, my lord," Tiancheng smiled. "Being able to assist you is an honor for Tiancheng."
Qin Ge chuckled. "I haven't been busy lately, so you can rest more when you have free time."
"Thank you for your concern, host. Tiancheng's health is fine lately, thanks to the treatment from the Kitchen Goddess maiden, and I haven't felt weak for a long time." Tiancheng replied. "Also, when Miss Hai Lun Na asked me to come over earlier, she was rather vague; my lord, could you clarify?"
Qin Ge nodded. "Of course."
Next, Qin Ge told Tiancheng everything that had just happened in detail.
"Oh, I didn't expect it to be this," Tiancheng smiled. "If the Purifiers could help our port master the modification technology, then we'd truly owe them a favor."
Qin Ge chuckled and shook his head. "Actually, I have an idea—perhaps this result is intentional on the part of the Observers and Testers."
Tiancheng narrowed his eyes. "My lord, do you mean that the Purifiers coming to our port is also a scheme of the Observers?"
Qin Ge set down his documents, stood up, and said, "I don't think this is their scheme; from the Purifiers' current behavior there's nothing unnatural, and I feel this is more the Observers and Testers going with the flow."
Tiancheng curled the corner of his mouth into a smile. "If it follows the Sirens' nature, then my lord's words are quite likely to come true."
The Purifiers left the Siren outpost; the Observers would surely know, and they naturally know her direction of movement. But the Purifiers have been in our port for about a week, yet they've shown no reaction, which could very well match my lord's judgment.
Either they don't care about the technology the Purifiers possess or speak of, or they deliberately do nothing, letting the Purifiers reveal these things.
Qin Ge nodded. "Combining what I found in the dossier earlier, the Sirens once had technological exchanges with the Nine Major Factions, so these things can now be clarified."
Today the Purifiers answered very readily, not caring that we grasp the modification technology, so I feel that besides modification, some technology will also leak from their mouths later.
This is an opportunity for our port, and one of the ways for our port to grow stronger.
Tiancheng nodded. "Perhaps your intuition is correct, my lord; where do you think our port should focus its future research direction?"
Qin Ge narrowed his eyes. "This is a decisive matter. Once decided, our port's future research direction must be set."
Indeed, we currently have too many and too varied research topics. Overall, we can plan it as research ship equipment, research supplies, and a few major aspects like mass-production test fields.
If I had to say, I think our port's main research focus should be on developing research shipgirls and research ship equipment.
"Research shipgirls and research ship equipment?" Tiancheng gave a slight nod. "Emperor Frederick and Monarch's strength is visibly strong; this is indeed a researchable direction."
Moreover, the research equipment born from the Sirens' earlier research blueprints is also impressive, including the research equipment currently studied by all major factions, which indeed has the ability to change the tide of battle.
Qin Ge nodded. "Yes, so we need to grasp these two points and strive to let all shipgirls in our port use research equipment."
"Heh, my lord's ambition is grand. As far as I know, even under Akagi's management, the Sakura Empire faction has only a few awakened shipgirls capable of using research equipment; most use the standard gold-colored ship equipment." Tiancheng laughed.
"Cough..." Qin Ge cleared his throat. "People always need to have some dreams."
"Heh, but speaking of which, these two tasks can actually form a cooperative relationship with Mingshi. The few other research blueprint shipgirls we brought back were made into research shipgirls' magic cubes by her."
"I'm sure she has some materials there, but whether we can obtain them depends on your means, my lord." Tiancheng smiled.
Qin Ge rolled his eyes. "That cat only cares about money; with enough money, she'd even sell herself."
"Let's talk about that later. For now, we focus on that experimental field; later, once Hai Lun Na learns modification, we'll modify all modifiable personnel in our port."
"Hmm." Tiancheng nodded.
After the talk ended, Qin Ge continued today's work; the only change was that the secretary ship shifted from Hai Lun Na to Tiancheng.
At night, Hai Lun Na knocked on Qin Ge's door and reported to him what she and the Purifiers had learned today.
"So, the Purifiers are basically passing on all modification knowledge to you, right?" Qin Ge asked after hearing Hai Lun Na's report.
"Yes, not just destroyers, but also cruisers, aircraft carriers, and battleships. Moreover, it includes ordinary-to-rare modifications, rare-to-elite modifications, and elite-to-super-rare modifications."
"However, due to limited time today, the main topic was destroyers, specifically elite-to-super-rare modifications." Hai Lun Na said.
Qin Ge nodded. "Then have Laffey, Z23, and Ling Bo succeeded in their modifications?"
Hai Lun Na shook her head. "Not yet; today's main work is producing modification blueprints using various materials, and the actual modification process can only be carried out tomorrow."
"I see." Qin Ge nodded, then stroked Hai Lun Na's hair, smiling at her blushing face, and said, "These two days will be hard on you; please grasp as much modification knowledge as you can, and later, when our port can modify, the modification of shipgirls will be entrusted to you."
"Commander, rest assured; I will definitely strive to master this knowledge and will not disappoint your expectations." Hai Lun Na nodded firmly, her expression resolute.
Qin Ge chuckled. "All right, once you've fully mastered this knowledge, we'll switch back with Tiancheng—after all, your secretary ship duties aren't finished yet; let's find a time to go on a date together."
"Okay!"
