Chapter 63: Trade Completed

~6 min read 1,088 words

Bang bang…

Qin Ge had just knocked on Nengdai's door when her clear voice came from inside.

"Please come in."

Then Qin Ge pushed the door open and entered, seeing Nengdai sitting at the desk, turning her head to look toward the door, with a blue shipgirl textbook and a cup of steaming tea on the table.

"Commander? Weren't you just off to class? Did you finish so quickly?" Nengdai stood up, asking with a hint of doubt.

"Well, this afternoon's class ended a bit early, so I came back early." Qin Ge replied, "How's the shipgirl textbook going for you? Any gains?"

Nengdai brushed the hair from her shoulder and said to Qin Ge, "I've gained a lot; it feels like this shipgirl textbook is like a condensed data chain. When I open it, it constantly updates and improves my abilities. Now I feel that at sea, my movement will become stronger; even ordinary shells fired at me, I can easily dodge."

"That impressive?" Qin Ge said in surprise.

"Yeah, movement is my special ability; I don't know what others' skills are like, but mine really is like that." Nengdai said.

Qin Ge nodded, "Then if this shipgirl textbook is used up, how much do you feel your skills will improve?"

"If we divide our shipgirls' skill levels into ten tiers, it could probably go up by about three levels." Nengdai said.

"So that means we'll need more shipgirl textbooks later to raise your skills to the highest level?" Qin Ge asked.

"That's right." Nengdai nodded, "So we'll need a substantial amount of supplies for that."

"Alright, let's take it slow." Qin Ge nodded and said, "Not just you, but Banrenma as well."

"Hmm." Nengdai made a sound, then asked Qin Ge, "Commander, you didn't come over just to ask about mastering this textbook, did you?"

"I have other things too." Qin Ge nodded, "Didn't Li Chenming say he'd help us find a buyer for the Wisdom Cube? He's already found one, so later we'll go trade with him—come with me."

"Of course, but shouldn't we bring Banrenma too?" Nengdai asked.

"We'll definitely bring them, since we agreed on 6 o'clock; after the trade we'll go together to the dining hall for a meal. I came over now just to let you know beforehand—when we head out later, bring the Wisdom Cube." Qin Ge said.

"Understood, Commander." Nengdai nodded.

"Alright, keep reading then; I'm going back to my room to read." Qin Ge said, then walked toward the door.

"Hmm." Nengdai lightly nodded, watching Qin Ge walk out of her room and closing the door behind him.

She couldn't help but sigh, feeling a ripple disturb her usually calm thoughts; ever since that time she helped the drunk Qin Ge wipe his body, this hesitation appeared.

Nengdai didn't know what this feeling was; she felt a bit confused, hoping to overcome it with her usual calm, but whenever she saw Qin Ge, the feeling resurfaced.

So Nengdai sat down, shook her head, dispelled that hint of hesitation, picked up the blue shipgirl textbook again, and read it attentively.

Time flew; soon it was almost 6 o'clock, and at that time Nengdai and Banrenma also left their rooms and came to the living room.

Hearing the commotion outside, Qin Ge also put down his book and came to the living room. As he came downstairs, Nengdai and Banrenma were saying something.

Seeing his arrival, Banrenma waved and smiled, "Commander, Senior Nengdai already told me someone wants to buy our Wisdom Cube; it's almost 6 now, so why don't we head over?"

Qin Ge smiled and nodded, "Of course, after we go over and sell the Wisdom Cube, I'll take you to the dining hall for a meal."

"Okay." Banrenma and Nengdai nodded together.

The three left the house together and headed toward the Construction Hall.

Sure enough, as they reached the door of the Construction Hall, they saw Zhang Shaocheng standing there with his shipgirl.

Qin Ge stepped forward and greeted Zhang Shaocheng, "Sorry to keep you waiting."

Zhang Shaocheng shook his head, "No problem, I just arrived myself. Actually I thought you wouldn't be able to come this afternoon, given you just finished the Devil Instructor's training, but I didn't expect you to show up—looks like Instructor Qin Ge's physique is really formidable."

"Heh, there's nothing particularly formidable about it; I just usually like running, so 10 kilometers isn't difficult for me." Qin Ge laughed and said to Zhang Shaocheng.

"No wonder—back in our cohort, after the first class basically nobody could stand up; on the second day going to class we had to rely on our shipgirls to support or carry us, utterly embarrassing..." Zhang Shaocheng said, speechless.

"Well, I estimate the other freshmen will be about the same tomorrow; today's sudden 10-kilometer run is really too much of a physical drain for them, especially since they were chased by anti-air guns, which also puts mental pressure on them." Qin Ge nodded involuntarily.

"By the way, let me introduce." Zhang Shaocheng stepped aside to reveal his shipgirl behind him, "Fletcher-class second ship Radford, this is my shipgirl."

Qin Ge turned his head to the pink-haired girl holding a lollipop and nodded, "Hello."

The girl also nodded at Qin Ge, returning the greeting.

After all, compared to their own commander, shipgirls usually keep a great distance from outsiders' commanders; even a greeting is merely a polite formality.

Qin Ge then said to Zhang Shaocheng, "These are my shipgirls: the Royal Banrenma and the Sakura Empire's Nengdai; I'm sure you've heard of them."

"Yeah, they're both Super Rare Shipgirls; I've seen them countless times in the Jia Niang Tu Jian..." Zhang Shaocheng nodded, though his words couldn't hide his deep envy.

"Alright, greetings done; let's start the trade." Qin Ge turned to Nengdai and said, "Nengdai, take out five Wisdom Cubes from yourself."

"Yes, Commander." Nengdai nodded and took out five Wisdom Cubes from her Jia Zhuang Kong Jian.

Meanwhile, Zhang Shaocheng had his shipgirl Radford take out 16,000 units of supplies.

Then Nengdai handed the five Wisdom Cubes to Radford, and Radford handed over 16,000 units of supplies to Nengdai.

Seeing the trade completed smoothly, Qin Ge said to Zhang Shaocheng, "Are you going to build now?"

"Of course, the supplies I've saved up have been for this day; if I don't build now, I'd be letting down my long-held expectations." Zhang Shaocheng looked at the Wisdom Cube in Radford's hand, his eyes radiating a brilliant light…
