Chapter 706: Heading to Iron Blood
"How much longer until we arrive?" Peter Strasse said to Scharnhorst, who was leading the team.
They are the team responsible for transporting supplies to Iron Blood; although few in number, each is a veteran.
"Almost there, we've already reached the waters near Iron Blood; we should arrive in about thirty minutes." Scharnhorst said.
"Near the waters?" Peter Strasse looked at the surrounding sea, "That means we'll soon encounter the Siren Fleet attacking Iron Blood?"
"No, the route I chose is the one we took when we left; this sea lane has no Siren Fleet. Currently the Siren Fleet's main thrust is at Holstein not far from here, so this area is relatively safe." Scharnhorst replied.
"Holstein? A familiar city." Peter Strasse chuckled, "I never expected to be able to come to Iron Blood's homeland here."
"Me too; regarding this place, I only have some memories left." Prince Heinrich said from beside.
"If it weren't wartime, I could still invite you to tour Iron Blood; it's a pity that although we've come, we still don't have much time." Scharnhorst smiled regretfully.
"It's fine; Iron Blood is just a codename for us—wherever we are, that is Iron Blood." Peter Strasse said.
"Indeed." Scharnhorst smiled, "You belong to Commander Qin Ge; you indeed don't have deep feelings for Iron Blood's homeland."
"Actually, I think after this battle victory, we could let the commander stay a while in the NA sea area; in the port area there are still many Royal Navy, White Eagle, Iron Blood, Sardinia, Iris, and Northern Union personnel—we can visit those places." Baltimore smiled.
"Good idea, but will the commander agree?" Prince Heinrich said.
"Hehe, I've never seen the commander refuse a request from anyone in the port area." North Carolina said from beside.
"Really, we definitely need to come see Iron Blood then; if the commander could join, that would be best, hehe." Prince Heinrich laughed.
Peter Strasse couldn't help but rub his forehead upon hearing that, "What time is it now? You're already thinking about after the war. We should focus on the present."
"That's pretty good; according to current progress, we won't take long to clear the Siren outposts in the sea area. Then, as the fleet that earned the chief merit, we who are accepting your help really ought to fulfill our duty as hosts." Scharnhorst said.
Peter Strasse shook his head, "The current progress is smooth only because we haven't encountered those arbitrator monsters yet. If they appear, we definitely won't be as smooth as now."
"Are those arbitrators really that terrifying?" Scharnhorst asked curiously.
"Very terrifying, I can attest to that." Baltimore said, "During the battle against Sterletcus, we had over thirty Awakened Shipgirls and about a hundred Shipgirls total; such force for a typical faction is already mustering the whole faction's strength."
"But the battle was almost one-sided; even Sterletcus didn't take our attacks to heart. Without moving or even counterattacking, it forced us to exhaust all our strength, managing only a single hit, yet we couldn't even break its armor."
"If it weren't for the appearance of the Flying Dragon, we truly wouldn't know how to fight onward."
Looking at the solemn Baltimore, Scharnhorst grew grave, "So we will still have to face at least two arbitrators...."
"Yes, it just depends on how many reinforcements the Flying Dragon can summon." Peter Strasse said, "However, according to the commander's words, they are currently near the fleet, waiting for the arbitrators to appear."
"If they weren't absolutely confident, I wouldn't believe they'd be so self-assured."
"Remnants?" Scharnhorst exclaimed, "Looks like after leaving Sun and Moon Island, you've gone through a lot."
"Yeah, too many things have happened in this period." Peter Strasse said, "Tell us about Iron Blood: after Bismarck left Iron Blood, who remains in charge of the overall situation?"
"Tirpitz." Scharnhorst said.
"Indeed, besides Bismarck, Iron Blood currently only has Tirpitz with such prestige." Peter Strasse smiled.
"Yeah, it's a pity Iron Blood doesn't have Emperor Frederick; otherwise it wouldn't be like this now." Scharnhorst said.
"Hehe, Emperor Frederick." Peter Strasse smiled, "Perhaps for Iron Blood, she isn't the optimal solution, after all the Iron Blood power in this world doesn't allow her grandiose plan."
"But currently in our fleet, there is indeed a certain chance."
"Plan?" Scharnhorst wondered.
"Hehe, perhaps you'll see it someday, but for now let me keep it a secret." Peter Strasse said.
"Alright." Scharnhorst shrugged.
At that moment, Bumblebee, bringing up the rear, retracted its carrier aircraft and said to everyone, "I've spotted a patrolling fleet ahead; it seems the Siren fleets along your Iron Blood route have diminished."
"Really?" Scharnhorst exclaimed delightedly.
After all, they left Iron Blood this time to turn the tide; receiving such information from Bumblebee naturally made them somewhat excited and delighted.
"Well, we'll meet them in a few minutes."
After Bumblebee finished speaking, a few minutes later the party indeed encountered a patrol pair, and this patrol was led by a high-ranking Iron Blood official.
"Hipper." Scharnhorst said, looking at the leading figure.
"Huh, Scharnhorst? Weren't you and Bismarck off to Madalena? How did you end up here? And who are they?" Admiral Hipper swiftly glided over and said to Scharnhorst.
"They are the shipgirls of Commander Qin Ge; we were previously fighting at the Siren outpost in the center of the Atlantic Ocean, but due to some supply issues, I came to Iron Blood to transport supplies, and will later return to the battlefield."
"I ask you, how is the Iron Blood coastline now? Has the Siren Fleet diminished?" Scharnhorst asked.
"It has decreased a lot; currently the main force is clearing out the remaining Siren fleets. Tirpitz worries it might be a Siren ruse, so we've been tasked with patrolling those previously unattacked areas to ensure the main force doesn't walk into an ambush." Admiral Hipper said.
"It seems our efforts have borne fruit; then Hipper, I won't disturb your patrol—we still need to hurry back to transport supplies to the battlefield." Scharnhorst said.
"Then I'll go back with you; don't forget what I was previously responsible for." Admiral Hipper said.
