Chapter 739: Snowball Fight
Commander, watch this!
Qin Ge turned his head and saw a white flash flying over like lightning.
He thought, "This is bad," and his body instinctively reacted. He raised his arm, leaned slightly, and managed to catch the incoming snowball with his clothing.
He then steadied himself, threw the snowball he had just packed in the direction it came from.
"Ah! Who hit me?"
Bei Li wiped the snow from her head, clutching her snowball as she kept searching for a target.
Benson beside him laughed and pointed at the stunned Qin Ge, saying, "Bei Li, it was the Commander who threw it—hit him!"
"Huh?" Bei Li heard Benson's voice, then looked at Qin Ge's apologetic expression and realized it.
"Well, could I say I was just about to throw it at Benson?" Qin Ge, seeing the situation, quickly replied.
"I don't care—" Bei Li had just started speaking when a snowball struck her face squarely.
She turned her head and saw Sa Qie Er not far away, laughing and holding another snowball.
"Sa Qie Er, you—" Bei Li hadn't finished when Sa Qie Er's other snowball came swishing at her.
She tried to dodge, but the snowball was too fast; it hit her freshly wiped face squarely.
"Hey, now's the time for a snowball fight—it's a free-for-all, not a personal grudge." Sa Qie Er said with a laugh, then instantly turned and vanished into the crowd.
This behavior made Bei Li furious; she clenched her snowball tightly, set aside the still‑dazed Qin Ge, and stormed off to find Sa Qie Er.
"Well, this is something..." Qin Ge saw this, was about to shake his head and laugh, when a white flash streaked past and a snowball smacked his face.
With a stunned expression, he looked around and saw Ta Shi Gan nearby, laughing and saying, "Comrade, you're really lax—this is battle time!"
Qin Ge rolled his eyes, then bent down, packed a big snowball with his gloved hands, and gave chase.
"You little brat, you won't get away with this today!"
Though that hope was lovely, reality was harsh. Someone suddenly shouted, "The Commander's over there—everyone, together!"
Qin Ge instantly saw countless snowballs swarming in; although he immediately ducked to avoid them, many still hit him.
Moreover, the snowballs showed no sign of stopping, one after another keeping Qin Ge from lifting his head. After a while, he was buried in the snow, motionless.
"Huh, why isn't the Commander moving? Did our snowballs knock him out?" Si Peng Si asked weakly.
"The Commander's in great shape—he definitely wouldn't be knocked out. Besides, we're not wearing ship gear, so the impact is small," Xin Yue whispered.
Although they said that, everyone stopped attacking and slowly walked toward where Qin Ge lay.
All that could be seen was the snow from the bursting snowballs having buried Qin Ge; he lay still, clearly something had happened.
"Huh, did we really knock the Commander out?" As the instigator, Biaoqiang hurriedly bent down to pat the snow off Qin Ge.
But at that very moment, Qin Ge sprang up, clutching a big bundle of small snowballs and snow, and flung them like a heavenly maiden scattering flowers at the destroyers surrounding him.
In an instant, the destroyers closest to Qin Ge were hit to varying degrees, their bodies and hair covered in snow.
"Hey, let's all hit me together!" Qin Ge admired his handiwork, laughing mockingly, but his feet didn't stop—he darted away in a puff of snow.
"Yah! The Commander's really nasty—everyone, charge!" Biaoqiang, covered head to toe in snow from Qin Ge's doing, shouted angrily, though there was no real anger in his tone—mostly excitement—and then he led the destroyer fleet in an attack on Qin Ge.
Far up, at the window of the Reception House's second floor, Guanghui and Du Jiao Shou lay on the sill, watching the scene below.
Du Jiao Shou wore an envious expression, while Guanghui's face was amused, with a hint of worry.
So she turned to her adopted sister and asked, "Du Jiao Shou, you want to go down, huh?"
Hearing Guanghui's question, Du Jiao Shou shyly nodded, "Yeah, Guanghui sis."
"Hehe, no problem—if Du Jiao Shou wants to go down and play, go ahead. But Guanghui sis has a favor to ask of you," Guanghui said with a smile.
"Guanghui sis, what is it? If Du Jiao Shou can do it, I'll definitely do it," Du Jiao Shou quickly replied.
Guanghui laughed, looked out the window, and pointed at the miserable Qin Ge being chased by a swarm of destroyers and submarines, saying, "The Commander's a bit too outnumbered, so you could check with our Royal faction or other camps' cruisers to see if they'd like to join the snowball fight?"
If you can organize a escort team, I'm sure the Commander would be very pleased.
"Really?" Du Jiao Shou asked, eyes wide.
"Of course."
Having received Guanghui's permission, Du Jiao Shou quickly ran out of the room, already with a goal in mind.
As for an escort team, knights would be the best.
Meanwhile, Qin Ge weaved through the woods, occasionally tossing a snowball. Since the enemy destroyers were numerous, any throw could hit someone, but two fists can't fight four hands—whenever Qin Ge nailed a destroyer, he'd get hit by even more snowballs.
In fact, he had tried to split them up, but for some reason today's destroyers were unusually united. Even the recently squabbling Sa Qie Er and Bei Li stood on the same front.
"Phew, these little guys' assault is too fierce—one person can't beat them. Looks like it's time to admit defeat." Hiding under a big tree, Qin Ge glanced at the approaching destroyers and rolled his eyes.
Although it feels like a lifetime of fame could be lost here, it's still better than being chased by a mob.
So Qin Ge took a deep breath, ready to step out from under the tree and perform a French military salute, when a different sound came from behind.
"Hehe, this fun thing counts us in—let's have a hearty snowball battle!"
Qin Ge immediately recognized the voice as Cleveland's; turning his head, he saw a detachment burst from the other side of the destroyer army, led by Cleveland and her few sisters.
Behind them came Hai Lun Na, Tianlangxing, Baermo, Sheng Di Ya Ge, Chai Jun, and others. But the most eye‑catching was Du Jiao Shou trailing behind them.
Qin Ge stared, dazed, "So what's going on now?"
