Chapter 1079
After Loki entered the portal, she did not feel anything unusual; a flash of light simply streaked before her eyes, and within a mere two seconds, the environment appearing before her had completely changed.
Stepping out of the portal, Loki first felt her field of vision suddenly brighten, and once her eyes adapted to this light, she discovered that she had appeared in a magnificent and spacious hall.
The entire hall was circular, not only vast in area but also so high that the ceiling was invisible, and the most eye-catching feature was a massive statue in the very center of the circular hall.
Loki squinted as she looked up and discovered that this statue was carved entirely from smooth, hard rock, depicting a majestic male figure with short hair, wearing a somewhat peculiar uniform, with a long cloak draped over the uniform, one hand resting on a blade at his waist, and the arm of the other hand extended diagonally upward.
Looking at the statue's posture, Loki slowly narrowed her eyes. At this moment, Helen jumped down from Loki, took her hand, and followed her as she walked forward.
B15 walked at the very front, her subordinates surrounding Loki and Helen tightly. When they reached the statue, B15 led them to turn along the right side of the circular hall. While moving through the hall, Loki kept turning her head, looking at the employees coming and going, all wearing the same uniform.
The employees were all humanoid, but their skin colors varied; not only were there white, yellow, and black, but there were also blue-skinned, green-skinned, and even transparent people without skin. Their appearances were even more bizarre, and not all of them had two eyes, one nose, and one mouth.
Just among the few employees who brushed past Loki's group, Loki discovered that there were one-eyed people, as well as peculiar creatures with eight eyes growing on the sides of their faces.
Loki's group stopped in front of a door. Just as Loki thought B15 was going to lead them inside, B15 stopped and prevented Loki and Helen from continuing forward. She went to the door, picked up a communicator, and said to the other end:
"I am Hunter B15. We have encountered an abnormal situation here. Could you please come over?"
After hanging up the communication, B15 waited in place for a while. A man in a suit ran over with a large group of guards, saying as he ran: "Alert! Everyone, alert! Where is the uncooperative prisoner?"
The man in the suit walked up, looked at B15, and said: "Is this another mission in a dangerous universe? Where is the prisoner? Do you need to request higher-level armed support?"
"No, Mobius." B15 called out the name of the man in front of her and said: "The abnormal situation I am referring to is not the prisoner resisting, but... the prisoner's information differs greatly from the information given on the wanted poster, and she also brought a family member along."
Mobius tugged at the tie on his chest. This middle-aged man looked refined and elegant, but from his slightly haggard complexion and the dark circles under his eyes, it could be seen that he had been very busy lately.
"I can understand if there is a discrepancy between the prisoner and the information on the wanted poster; our wanted posters are not updated in real-time, and those prisoners are so bizarre that they might cause some trouble during the period when it hasn't been updated..." Mobius shook his head, as if he were accustomed to this situation.
Subsequently, he looked at B15 with some confusion and said: "But what do you mean by saying she brought a family member?"
"Exactly what it sounds like."
B15 extended her arm and pointed at Helen behind her. When Mobius saw such a small little girl in the crowd, he was also startled and said: "Good heavens! There's a time criminal this young?"
Just after speaking, Mobius seemed to think of something, shut his mouth somewhat sheepishly, and exchanged a glance with B15. B15 and Mobius came to Helen together and bent down to look at her.
Helen hid backward, looking somewhat timid, but Loki smiled helplessly, supported her back, pushed her forward, and said to B15 and Mobius: "Sorry, the child is shy. Helen, say hello to the uncle and aunt..."
Helen stared with big eyes, blinked, and hid in Loki's arms. Mobius did not mind; he stood up straight, turned to look at B15, and said: "Are you sure it's a mother committing crimes with her daughter?"
"She is Loki." B15 once again dropped a bombshell. Mobius almost couldn't catch his breath and choked himself.
She took two steps back and stared wide-eyed at Loki. Loki was tugging at Helen's hand, lecturing her not to pull the braid on her own head, while Helen ignored her completely, reaching out to grab Loki's hair. Loki dodged to the side while scolding her.
Looking at this scene of maternal kindness and filial piety, Mobius's entire face wrinkled up, and he took a deep breath.
B15 turned her head and said with a hint of helplessness in her tone: "When we arrived, things were already like this. I wouldn't believe it myself... the culprit is the Iron Man of her world."
Mobius's wrinkled features quickly smoothed out, and his expression was completely stretched by shock, his eyeballs almost popping out.
"Helen Stark! I'm warning you! Put your hand back!" Loki said, tugging at the only braid left on her head: "This is your grandmother, who spent over an hour braiding my hair. If I go back and she finds out I messed up my hair, I'll tell her you did it!"
Mobius swallowed his saliva, leaned his head toward B15, and said: "... How did Iron Man succeed? Loki is of the God race, surely they didn't have... could it be an accident?"
Mobius seemed to have suddenly seen something; he stared at Helen's chest and said: "Now, I can be sure that she really is Iron Man's daughter."
But then, he raised his tone and said: "But why did she inherit the reactor??!! Can this thing be inherited?!!"
Not until Loki took off the thick cloak on Helen's body did B15 see that there was a glowing reactor on Helen's chest. It looked like it couldn't be said to have no connection to the reactor on Iron Man's chest; one could only say that like father, like daughter.
She tapped her temple with her staff, feeling a headache, and said: "That's not important. The problem now is that Loki's daughter is not a time criminal, but because of some special reasons, Loki couldn't leave her behind, and I couldn't either, so I brought her here..."
Mobius seemed to quickly grasp his colleague's meaning. His complexion darkened, and he lowered his eyes, saying: "You should know what Ravonna's style is. Once you come to the Time Variance Authority, everyone is a time criminal, regardless of age..."
"Precisely because I know, that's why I wanted to ask you..."
Just as B15 said this, the large door suddenly opened, and a strange machine inside the door began to sound. Mobius's expression changed, and he said to B15: "The trial is about to begin. We don't have time!"
B15 pursed her lips, turned to look at the innocent and cute Helen, and tightened her grip on the staff, but then she still waved the staff and said: "Prisoner Loki, go in and change clothes, prepare for the trial..."
As soon as she finished speaking, Helen jumped back into Loki's arms, refusing to let go no matter what. Mobius also went up to pull her twice, but his thin arms and legs couldn't produce any effect, so he could only witness this mother and daughter walk into the changing room together.
"This is an independent space." Helen said immediately: "There are no devices that can transmit images and sound to the outside, and no eavesdropping magic. If you want to say something, you'd better be quick."
"What do I want to say?" Loki tidied her somewhat messy hair and said: "Arrest, trial, and prison. Well, although I don't know where these messengers of justice came from, if I don't have to go back to Asgard, I'll just sit in prison here."
Helen stared at her with wide eyes and said: "You're not planning to give up on yourself, are you? Mom?!"
"I am not your mother." Loki immediately denied: "Don't try to get close to me, you little brat who is exactly like Tony Stark."
But who would have thought that Helen would extend both hands, pull Loki's cheeks, and say: "Wake up! Mom! Haven't you noticed that there might be a big secret hidden here? Didn't you see that the staves they hold can dissolve Asgardian divine power? Those are good things!"
Loki stood in place, tidied her clothes, and then said: "Among those I have deceived, who doesn't have secrets? From high-level interstellar civilizations to uncivilized planetary natives, every victim says they want to judge me and make me pay the price, but haven't I been just fine?"
"This so-called Time Variance Authority is the same. Perhaps some victim found some existence behind it and wants to show me something, so let them come. I'd like to see how long they can lock me up."
Loki looked away, but Helen kept staring at her with bright, piercing eyes. Subsequently, she used that delicate little face to make an extremely mature and worried expression that did not match her age, and whispered: "It's over, my mom is crazy."
"Yes, I am crazy. In your eyes, Asgard should be a good place, with a grandmother who loves you, a goddess sister who plays with you, guards and ceremonial officers who respect you, and countless delicacies and toys." Loki said, looking at Helen in her arms.
"You can't wait to stay there forever, and many aliens who come to Asgard think so too. Therefore, they can't figure out why anyone would rather sit in prison outside than go home, and besides, I am still a noble Prince..."
Just as Helen was about to say something, the sound emitted by the strange machine in the center of the changing room attracted her attention. Her eyes rolled, and she jumped directly from Loki's arms to the top of the machine.
"What are you doing? Come back quickly!" Loki shouted instinctively.
But Helen jumped behind the machine, reached out, grabbed the connecting wire between the machine and the wall, and then began to knock around until she removed the back cover of the machine.
When Loki rushed to the back of the machine, Helen had already removed two parts. Loki gasped and said: "Helen Stark! What are you doing? You'll break it!"
"I just want to study its structure." Helen said very calmly. She pushed up glasses that didn't exist on her face, pointed to the circuit structure inside the machine, and said: "A very magical structure, simple, primitive, but exceptionally effective. What energy does it use? Why can it operate smoothly in these pipelines that look like they are from the steam-powered era?"
Loki covered her forehead and said: "Is now the time to study this? Isn't this a changing room? Where are the clothes? We need to change quickly, there's a trial later..."
She looked around at the environment, wanting to find a wardrobe. At this moment, a small hand reached out from behind the machine, handed her a part, and said: "Here, the clothes you want... but you have to wait for me to install it back before I can turn the clothes out..."
"Get out here quickly!" Loki roared hysterically. She gathered her long hair behind her head, walked over quickly, hugged Helen's waist, and pulled her outward, shouting as she pulled: "Don't embarrass Asgard! Asgard's princess is not like you humans. You must have cultivation, be polite, and not cause destruction like this!"
"I'm not causing destruction!" Helen shouted while dismantling. After Loki found that she couldn't pull her at all, she gave up and could only walk to the opposite side and look at her from the gap behind the machine.
Loki discovered that Helen's expression was very serious, not at all like she was playing. Loki saw her expression and thought of Tony Stark, even though they didn't look much alike.
And when Helen looked up again, she saw a trace of envy in Loki's eyes.
Helen's hand movements slowly stopped. When their eyes met, Loki took the initiative to look away.
At this moment, Loki heard a voice coming from outside the changing room: "Why hasn't the second procedure started yet? Is the machine broken? Or can it not identify two people?"
Loki revealed an extremely flustered expression, looked at the parts all over the floor, lowered her voice, and said: "Quick, quick, quick! Install them back quickly!"
"It's too late!" Helen said very calmly: "But it doesn't matter, I have a way..."
Then, in Loki's shocked gaze, Helen slowly opened her mouth. Her neat, square teeth like a human child retracted, and in their place were terrifying sharp teeth one after another.
Before Loki could react, a terrifying forked tongue at least two meters long extended from Helen's mouth, swept the parts on the ground clean, and swallowed them into her stomach.
"Is there some movement inside?" Mobius pointed at the door with some doubt and said: "Open the door and see."
B15 pressed a button, the door opened, and appearing behind the door was Loki holding Helen.
The mother and daughter simultaneously revealed a friendly smile. Loki pointed back at the machine in the room and said:
"The machine didn't respond; it's probably broken."
