Chapter 134: R: The Bat Event (XI)
In Stark Tower's lab, Peter spread his hands and said, "That's the situation—two factions of vampires, and this so-called Bat God descending. What do you think?"
Stark, repairing his armor, said, "Expected. That group of moderates are only superficially mild, but many people actually believe their nonsense—they keep stepping forward calling for an end to the war, and those fools truly believe they'll live in peace with humans."
Shiler frowned and said, "You're certain? Dicken insisted with absolute certainty that the Bat God's power would descend?"
"Yes, and he even gave the exact time—tonight, when the moonlight is brightest."
"No ritual needed? It just descends directly?"
"That's the idea. He specifically emphasized that our preparations will be useless."
Watching Shiler sink into thought, Steve polished the damaged area of his shield and said, "This is strange, isn't it? I've fought plenty of evil creatures—what they call divine descent is always just some weird method of self-enhancement. But now he claims a god's guardian will descend in person—who could it be?"
Shiler seemed to have a hunch. He said, "We'll know tonight."
The moment he finished speaking, Nick called. Shiler said into the phone, "... eally? Fine, send someone to pick me up... They've already organized the files? Then forget it—just transmit the data directly..."
