Chapter 1439: Volume Two Summary
Volume Two Summary
Volume Two is finally finished!
Someone will definitely ask, how did it take five million words to finish Volume Two? And the author has to say, Batman is entirely to blame!
I really didn't expect him to be so hard to treat!
Why did I spend millions of words discussing a possibility of curing Batman?
Because I love psychology deeply.
Complaining over, let's talk business.
The "Leaving the Nest" of Volume Two refers both to Marvel's Earth leaving the solar system and stepping onto the interstellar stage, and to Batman flying out of his nest and gaining the ability to fly independently.
Some readers might feel that the progress on both sides is too different, but in fact, judging from Batman's setting, curing him is half the success.
Next, DC might welcome its first major event. The various heroes on Earth that everyone is familiar with will all appear. Whether it's the scientific side or the magical side, the heroes will have brilliant performances.
Just like the multiple major events at the beginning of Marvel, DC will enter a relatively open and grand narrative, and characters from the multiverse will also collide. Some plots everyone is looking forward to are all there.
Marvel will turn to a new round of character shaping and exploration of human nature. The previous chapters on "Ordinary People" and "Father and Son" only scratched the surface, and it will continue to deepen later.
The philosophical exploration on Marvel's side will be warmer, more detailed, and closer to the daily life of ordinary people, forming a contrast with the dark, extreme, and in-depth exploration on DC's side.
This book has been using two different styles to alleviate the fatigue of a certain style. Previously, it had always been Marvel being grand and happy, while DC was deep and in-depth. Starting from Volume Three, the positions of the two sides will be swapped.
Shiler and Batman have finally ended their days of mutual torture. Batman and the unique Justice League will show their strengths on a vast stage. A bat flying out of Shiler's palm will bring more shock to more people.
Marvel's superheroes will produce new sparks of thought through what they see, hear, and think during the process of development on Earth, positions will collide, and the social problems between superheroes and ordinary people will also be explored more deeply.
Perhaps many people have discovered that the author rarely begs for data. That's just because previously, I didn't have much confidence in the level of this book. As I said before, it's just a writing workbook of mine.
But there really are many people who have high expectations for this book, and there are too many evaluations that are completely overrated to me. Therefore, I have no way to slack off under such circumstances and fail everyone's expectations. I have to find ways to continue to improve and make this book strive toward the level of praise it has already received.
Before this, I just wanted to write a story about superheroes growing up, which was reflected in the launch announcement at the end of Volume One.
And in order to repay the readers' support, after the end of Volume One, I decided to show as much as possible a real society where superheroes exist, and to turn the characters, things, scenery, humanities, legal rules, moral human nature, and all aspects of this society into words that can bring real imagination, thereby shaping a huge American comic world.
To be honest with everyone, as the length of the content gets longer and longer, the decline in the book's data is certain. This is a law that is almost impossible to violate. Even if it looks like there is no change on the surface, the author knows it in his heart. Many web novels end poorly for this reason.
But even setting aside income, the author still has many writing techniques that have not been practiced, and there is still much level that needs to be improved. Therefore, the "five million words and Volume Two just finished" that makes you feel absurd is very normal to the author, and there was an expectation (although the expectation was three million words, Batman dragged me to five million).
Although this book didn't have an outline in the early stages, the fact that the writing direction of the two worlds in the first half and the second half would be swapped was a structure I had already envisioned when I started the book.
This can not only alleviate the depression and fatigue brought by one style, but also show the different sides of the two worlds from two directions, making both worlds more complete.
Therefore, you don't have to worry about the book ending hastily. The author still has a lot of space to complete the story lines of everyone. The main characters who were not heavily shaped in the first two volumes will all be shown in the later stories.
With one side of society already revealed, many things that were difficult to understand at first glance will become easier to explain, naturally leaving the author with more writing space.
If the first and second volumes were more of a practice of writing techniques, including montage, multi-line narrative, deconstructionism, hard-boiled writing, etc., then starting from Volume Three, the author will be more willing to weave novel stories, and many major events from the original work will be unfolded from a different perspective.
The biggest difference is what kind of butterfly effect will be caused when the characters who changed in the first two volumes participate in major events. I think this is also what everyone likes to see.
The first one or two volumes were mostly original major events, with the same people but different events, using events to shape people.
Starting from Volume Three, it will be different people, using people to shape events.
In addition, the emotional lines of all characters that haven't been mentioned for a long time will also be unfolded more deeply.
Then, inevitably, the narrative will be more inclined toward an ensemble cast, but due to Shiler's influence in the first half, it will mostly still be "he is not there, but he is everywhere."
And I will complete the long-term shaping that I have never set foot in with such great patience, hoping to tell everyone who is anxious due to mental problems or reality problems like me:
There is a path in this world where the worst result you expect will never come, and it is also a path that never ends and is enough to pursue for a lifetime, and that is—literature.
