Chapter 1441: Flying Birds and Returning (II)

~11 min read 2,051 words

About two hours ago, Jason and Tim, full and satisfied, planned to go to the East End to do homework with Jason's old friends. Mainly, they didn't want to run into Thomas, who might return, and then be given more damn etiquette lessons.

They were dressed and about to go out when they ran into Bruce, who had brought Aisha back. Bruce was rarely not wearing a formal suit, but instead wore a long-sleeved cashmere sweater and a double-breasted overcoat. Aisha in his arms was a complete replica of him, but with an extra scarf, her cheeks flushed red from the heat, cute as a doll.

Bruce wrapped their scarves tight, urged them to return to sleep before nine o'clock, and then sent them out.

After Jason and Tim left, Bruce took Aisha to change clothes. Aisha had been in kindergarten for a year, and her self-care ability was already very strong. She could completely finish things like changing clothes by herself, which also made Bruce dismiss the idea of hiring an older woman as a nanny for her, and instead planned to raise her himself.

But this didn't mean Aisha had become a well-behaved girl. She hadn't been in the walk-in closet for more than a few minutes when Bruce discovered she was chewing on the wardrobe drawer. Calling it chewing wasn't quite accurate; more than half of the wardrobe drawer had already entered her stomach.

Bruce rushed in to subdue her, so he didn't hear the movement at the manor gate. Alfred had gone to send Jason and Tim and hadn't returned yet, and he hadn't paid attention to the situation outside the door.

In front of the gate of Wei En Manor, a golden lightning bolt came from afar. A dazzling golden light erupted for a brief moment, and the figures of several people were revealed.

"Flash! You can't stand on Batman's side this time. We can't run when he's in trouble..."

The tone of condemnation hadn't completely ended when the environment changed completely. The sound stopped abruptly, and several figures froze in place.

Barry Allen, wearing the Flash uniform, spread his hands and said, "You should know that whether it's me or you, it's impossible to defy Batman's orders. He always has a way to achieve his goal, regardless of our will."

The one who had just been condemning Barry was Barbara Gordon, the daughter of the main universe's Gordon. She had been paralyzed by the Joker's shooting before, but after Flashpoint, she recovered her mobility through surgery and returned to become Batgirl.

Standing behind her, looking at Barry with the same disapproving gaze, was Nightwing, the main universe's Dick, Batman's first Robin, who had once left Blüdhaven to become an independent hero, but later returned to the Bat-family.

"Barry, what kind of madness are you having? If we run away every time an enemy comes, what's the point of us returning to Batman? I warn you, send us back immediately!"

Jason, wearing the Red Hood, stepped forward and pushed Barry's shoulder. Barry looked at him helplessly and said, "I already said, this isn't something I can decide. Believe it or not, if I send you back, the next second another Flash will send you over again."

"You are simply terrible!" Another slightly childish voice came from the very back. A boy who was clearly much younger than them walked over impatiently and said, "You listen to Batman for everything. Do you not have a father of your own?"

Barry's face sank immediately. Tim, the Red Robin wearing the red and green Robin uniform, pulled the boy's arm and said, "Damian, don't talk like that."

Barry took a deep breath, didn't look at them again, but walked straight forward to push the gate of Wei En Manor and said, "I advise you to restrain yourselves."

"Tch, was I scared growing up?" Damian raised his tone and said, "'Batman's good baby', how about this new title?"

Barry pushed open the door, and several people followed him into Wei En Manor, looking at everything here with dissatisfied and critical eyes. Red Hood opened his mouth and said, "I bet this universe's Batcave must not be much. I'm afraid it can't even fill the collection room."

Nightwing didn't speak, but he silently observed everything here. Red Robin Tim even began to infer what had happened here recently from every detail.

"I really don't know what Batman is thinking." Barbara said, "Our universe is not safe, is this universe any better? Why do we have to avoid things that we can't avoid at all?"

"I'll say it one last time, watch your language." Barry walked up the steps and knocked on the main door of the manor building.

Red Robin Tim frowned slightly and said, "What are you afraid of?"

"A lot."

"For example?"

Barry turned around to look at them and said, "I advise you all not to talk like that, because the Batman of this world might not even dare to do so."

With a 'creak', the door opened. Instantly, all members of the Bat-family focused their eyes on the person who opened the door, and then they all froze.

This Bruce Wei En was too young.

Red Hood froze in place for a few seconds, turned to look at Nightwing, poked him with his elbow, and said, "I bet he's about the same age as you."

"Did he just graduate from college?" Red Robin asked full of doubt. He opened his mouth and closed it again, but as if he really couldn't hold it in, he still opened his mouth and said, "So this is the style of Batman when he was young? It looks, it looks..."

Red Robin stammered for a long time but couldn't describe what style it was, but in any case, it was completely different from the Batman in their impression.

This wasn't just a question of age. The Bruce Wei En in front of them didn't have the strong physique of the Batman they knew. He was thinner, the blue eyes in his eye sockets were brighter, and his gaze wasn't as mysterious and unfathomable.

He also wasn't like the Batman they knew, who always wore a full Bat-suit no matter when or where he appeared.

Bruce wore a long-sleeved turtleneck sweater and dark brown wide-leg pants. His black, medium-long hair was tied behind his head, with a few messy strands falling on his forehead. One hand held a drawer with suspicious tooth marks, and the other hand carried a little girl who looked 80% like him.

It's hard to say this image is life-like. Apart from his face being a young version of Bruce Wei En, he looked more like a desperate housewife who had been fighting for half a lifetime against rebellious sons, lazy husbands, difficult neighbors, and even children's classmates' mothers who were prone to comparison.

But the impact of this image was indeed strong. It made the Bat-family members who had just arrived here completely forget the numerous evil deeds of Batman throwing them here without regard for their opinions, and instead, two questions swirled in their minds—"Is this Batman?" and "How did this Batman end up like this?"

"Hey, Bruce, long time no see. Still remember me, right?" Barry showed a smile and walked forward.

Bruce put down Aisha, whom he was carrying, and held her hand to prevent her from rushing out to bite people. He looked at Barry, seemingly waiting for him to give an explanation.

Barry took a letter from his arms and handed it to Bruce, saying, "Your professor asked me to bring it to you. He is in a hurry to rush to Washington to attend an academic conference. The letter contains all the explanations."

While Bruce was opening the letter, Barry explained, "But I still have to explain to you in advance. The Batman of our world hopes to send the members of the Bat-family here to stay for a period of time. Originally, it was to be entrusted to Professor Shiler, but he has been very busy lately, so he asked me to send them to you."

Bruce read the content of Shiler's letter while glancing at the Bat-family members who were staring at him in unison.

After a while, he folded the letter back into the envelope, led Aisha back a few steps, opened the door wider, and said, "Please come in."

No one moved.

Bruce stepped back further, leaving more space. Barbara seemed incredulous, looked into Bruce's eyes, and asked, "You're just letting us in like this? What about security equipment? Where do you plan to pull them out from?"

"There is no security equipment." Bruce picked up Aisha again and said, "The letter has already stated your basic situation. Come in."

Several people looked at each other, and no one dared to take the first step.

Fortunately, Barry became the first warrior to eat crab. He walked into the door—there were no strange scanning rays, no traps falling from the sky, no tasers, and no cameras that suddenly turned.

He walked safely and steadily to Bruce and even reached out to tease Aisha. Red Hood swallowed, looked left and right, and then said, "Okay, I'll go first. You guys watch Damian."

After saying this, he stepped onto the steps as if he had summoned the courage to face death, and stretched out a leg to carefully step over the threshold of the gate.

Looking up, he found Bruce looking at him with the eyes of someone looking at a lunatic.

Red Hood had no time to care about his gaze. He focused entirely on the foot he had placed on the ground, feeling whether it had landed on solid ground. After feeling the solid touch of the floor, he quickly lifted his other foot and stepped in.

Three seconds later, he was still standing. Red Hood let out a long breath, 'whooshed' to the open space beside the sofa, and beckoned to the others.

Nightwing grabbed Damian's wrist tightly, Barbara and Red Robin Tim guarded the flanks. When they all arrived at the place where Red Hood was, they found that Bruce's gaze had turned into sympathy for looking at a mentally retarded person.

"Listen, this Batman, it's not that we want to come here either." Nightwing took the lead in negotiating: "So no matter what, you can't find a place to lock us up. If you want to lock us up, you have to lock us together. You can't separate us because we have to look after Damian. He's still a child."

Red Robin Tim seemed to disapprove of his way of negotiating, so he stepped forward and said.

"We are not aliens in disguise, not Clayface or the Nameless Lady transformed, not robots created by Luthor, not under the mental control of Hugo or the Mad Hatter, not threatened by the Joker, not cast with magic, and not substitutes searched globally by the League of Assassins—we are just the Bat-family from another universe."

Bruce opened his mouth and wanted to speak, but Red Robin Tim immediately said, "I know you want us to get out of your Cat Getan, but obviously it's not that we want to roll in either, so I think we can make a deal."

Bruce looked at him and asked, "What deal?"

"Since the situation is urgent now, we can..."

"Stop, where is the situation urgent now?"

"The situation isn't urgent, why would you agree to let the Batman of another universe send us to your Cat Getan and let us enter Wei En Manor?"

"He's bluffing!" Damian, who was grabbed by Nightwing, said in a sharp tone, "Is there ever a time when Cat Getan's situation isn't urgent?"

Red Robin Tim continued to say to himself, "We can merge with the Teen Titans of this world and hand over the leadership to the leader of the Teen Titans here. We can also wear monitoring equipment, but you can't lock us up or force our actions."

"I don't agree." Bruce said.

"Why?"

Red Robin Tim regretted asking this question because he knew the answer he would hear must be "Because I am Batman."

And the result he heard was.

"Because I don't know what the Teen Titans are." ===== CHAPTER 1442 =====
