Chapter 1598

~11 min read 2,054 words

"Listen, Shiler, you can't..." Natasha held onto the doorframe, her eyes wrinkling in pain as she spoke, as if the alcohol was surging into her brain.

"Ma'am, you're drunk. You'd better go back and rest." Shiler gripped the doorknob with the expression of someone seeing a guest out.

"First of all, I'm not drunk. Secondly, you must stop what you're doing immediately. It's not that it's evil or anything, it's just... you can't do that." Natasha said, swaying back and forth.

"I don't know what you're referring to, ma'am. I was just planning to wash up and go to sleep. Do you want me not to do that?"

"You know what I'm referring to!" Natasha gritted her teeth, staring at Shiler. "Don't pretend you haven't actually done anything!"

"That is the fact." Shiler remained very calm. He was still wearing the shirt he had worn during the day; there wasn't a single wrinkle on his clothes, and even his tie knot was perfectly symmetrical. He was meticulous in every way.

This image made Natasha even more annoyed, as if her current anger was groundless and she was just making a scene. If there were any onlookers now, they would surely think the same: a reckless drunkard had barged into this gentleman's room, disturbing his rest.

A trace of cold sweat crept up Natasha's back. She looked at Shiler with slightly unfocused eyes and said, "How many people have you made disappear just like this?"

Shiler was just about to speak to see her out again when Natasha pushed the door open with one shoulder and said, "No matter how many there are, I won't be one of them. Let me in."

"There's nothing for you to do here, ma'am, believe me." Shiler let go of the door with some helplessness and took a step back to let Natasha in.

Natasha did indeed see only an unremarkable bed, made so neatly that even the most fastidious person couldn't find a single fault. Or rather, it was a bit too meticulous; it didn't look like a place for rest, but more like a stage.

Through the drunken haze, Natasha saw a fish constantly flopping on Shiler's bed. Its belly had been sliced open, and its internal organs were spilling out, staining the entire sheet red as blood flowed onto the floor.

The waist and abdomen, where the reflexes were strongest, were pressed under Shiler's knee. The knife tip had sliced open from the chest; the process was slow, and most of the intact organs were squeezed out by the terrified fish's own desperate struggle.

And the other hand, where was the other hand?

Just as Natasha thought of this, an irresistible, immense force pinned her against the wall. A pale, powerful hand gripped her throat tightly. Yes, Natasha thought, that hand was on her throat.

Natasha suddenly laughed. She looked at Shiler opposite her and said, "So the bait you cast was to hook me."

"You took the bait too early, ma'am. Breaking the rules."

Natasha took a deep breath, the alcohol gradually metabolizing out of her brain. Shiler looked at Natasha's face and said, "Although it's not very polite to call such a beautiful lady a stupid fish, you have indeed misjudged too many times. First of all..."

"Rip!"

A flash of a blade passed. The moment the wildness and cruelty beneath Natasha's beautiful human skin erupted, a large gash appeared on Shiler's arm. The female agent was holding a dagger, her arm swinging forward again, the cold, flashing blade slicing toward Shiler's throat.

Shiler let go and took two steps back. Natasha clutched her own throat and took a deep breath. She sneered at Shiler and said, "What makes you think I'll listen to you talk sense?"

She raised her right arm to her front again, simultaneously lunging forward and swinging the dagger downward with such force that it felt as if this weapon could split a person in two.

Shiler dodged the trajectory of the dagger sideways. As his breath brushed past the hair at the back of Natasha's head, he grabbed Natasha's wrist.

In an instant, the world spun. The second she was grabbed by the wrist and flipped directly onto the floor, Natasha understood one thing—this man's strength was shockingly great, and his combat skills were also extremely refined.

As the shadow fell, the female agent rolled on the ground to dodge the attack. Supporting herself with one hand, she used her waist strength to stand up nimbly, then bowed slightly, staring at Shiler like a beast about to launch an attack.

Shiler twisted his arm, looking at the wound on the outside of his arm. Natasha noticed that her breathing frequency was gradually speeding up, and her heartbeat was becoming clearer and clearer.

The premonition of danger descended like an oracle. Natasha didn't think too much, urged by instinct to rush toward Shiler again. The muscles in her arm, storing power like a slingshot, struck out violently. The blade left a scar in the air like a flying boat cutting through a torrent.

What Natasha didn't expect was that Shiler didn't dodge at all. He took the blow head-on with his right shoulder, then bent over to hug the right side of Natasha's body and threw her to the ground, breaking two of Natasha's left ribs with a single elbow strike.

The blood spurting from Shiler's collarbone to his shoulder blade splashed onto Natasha's neck. The female agent didn't make a sound despite her broken bones; she knelt on one knee with her right leg, her hand instinctively swiping backward.

Shiler leaned back, but didn't dodge completely. With another "Rip" sound, a shallow knife cut appeared on Shiler's face.

Shiler lowered his eyelids, touched his face with the ring finger of his right hand, and looked at the blood on his finger. The red in his pupils grew increasingly intense.

Natasha rolled nimbly to the side, using the half of her body that hadn't been injured yet as support, quickly adjusted her center of gravity, and launched a whip kick at Shiler's waist.

Shiler retreated to dodge, once again precisely grabbing Natasha's wrist that held the knife. Natasha used all her strength to begin a tug-of-war with him.

Their hands were dragged from their sides to above their heads, then to another side. The two of them crashed from the table to the wall and then to the head of the wall. Everything they passed was knocked down, like a missile rampaging through the room, leaving a mess in their wake.

"Bang!"

"Bang! Crash!"

Shiler dragged Natasha's arm and threw her directly onto the bed. Natasha struggled to flip over again, dodging Shiler's hand that was trying to pin her down.

She knew that as long as she was pinned down by Shiler, she would definitely become that fish sliced open.

She heard Shiler's breathing getting louder and faster. The drumbeats erupting from his heart were like death-knell notes. Natasha knew she only had one last chance to counterattack; otherwise, Shiler, who had entered a state of high excitement, would tear her to shreds with madness.

Natasha hesitated for a moment, her waist muscles contracting, her buttocks and leg muscles exerting force together, and she kicked toward Shiler at her side. But this time, it was Shiler who performed a nimble roll, standing back at the foot of the bed. Natasha's kick only landed on the edge of the nightstand.

"Bang!"

The nightstand was kicked flying, showing the great force of that kick. The two drawers of the nightstand that smashed into the wall both fell out. Natasha's pupils shrank when she saw a certain item fall out from within.

Shiler instantly grasped Natasha's intention. He appeared at Natasha's side with a speed she had never expected, faster than before, grabbed Natasha directly with his arm like catching an animal, and then used one arm to choke the female agent's neck tightly.

Natasha began to struggle wildly regardless of the pain, wanting to use the hand still holding the knife to pierce Shiler's arm, but as the blade fell, her wrist was grabbed by Shiler's other empty hand.

When the incredibly heavy breathing sounded in Natasha's ear, she trembled and convulsed uncontrollably, like prey dragged into the lair of a terrifying giant beast.

The frantic appetite, lust, sadism, and endless morbidity were brewed into a heavy metal rock song in the rise and fall of Shiler's chest, roaring and howling, the terrifying primitive power like an engine's roar.

Natasha felt her wrist being dragged by Shiler, gradually approaching her own chest. She widened her eyes like a dying fish, until the dagger pierced her chest, slowly sliding all the way down along her abdominal cavity.

Fresh blood spurted out, and the thick, bloody smell filled the entire room. Natasha was being sliced open by the dagger in her own hand. The near-numb calmness trained over many years was almost instantly shattered.

Shiler's breathing frequency grew higher and higher, until it was almost suffocating at the end, and his grip grew tighter and tighter, as if he were very urgent.

Choking a strong female agent by the neck and holding her in his arms, then grabbing her hand to make her weapon slice her open—this stimulation was far greater than pinning a fish to a bed and gutting it. The abyss boiled over in an unexpected situation.

This was it. Natasha, at the moment when one of Shiler's breaths sank to the very bottom—that is, when his muscles were in their most relaxed state following this breath—used all her strength to yank Shiler's arm downward violently. The moment she broke free, she stumbled toward the wall opposite.

The prey in his arms disappeared. In the split second Shiler used to focus his gaze, Natasha fell to the ground, but in the process of falling, she perfectly adjusted her body's posture, landing in front of that pistol.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

In the dark room, sparks splashed. Three 9mm pistol bullets hit Shiler, causing him to retreat three steps in succession, crash into the wall behind him, and slowly fall down.

Natasha also had absolutely no strength left to move. A gash had been sliced from the center of her chest to three centimeters above her navel, through which her internal organs could be seen directly.

Every one of her difficult breaths caused her internal organs to be squeezed out. Her ribs had been violently smashed, and the bone fragments had injured her lungs. With dozens of muscle contusions all over her body and internal bleeding caused by the impact, even for a super-agent who had undergone human body modification, this injury was a bit too severe.

Shiler's situation was no better. Even in a state of severe injury, Natasha's marksmanship could be called precise and fierce. The first two shots hit near the heart, and the last shot hit the heart squarely.

Natasha suddenly began to laugh in a low voice, disregarding her life that had almost completely ebbed away. She pressed her face against the floor on one side, looking at Shiler in the dark with somewhat shining eyes, listening to his excited heartbeat weakening at an extremely fast speed, until it was barely perceptible.

Shiler also revealed a smile, his lowered face appearing particularly gloomy in the darkness. He clutched the wound on his heart somewhat powerlessly and said in a voice that was almost gasping for air, "Well done, ma'am."

"You too. Doctor."

The room fell silent. The heartbeat and breathing sounds grew weaker and weaker, until they disappeared completely one after the other. When the crowd, awakened from their deep drunkenness by the noise, rushed into the room, they saw only two corpses.

At the same time, in the reception room of the Asgard Palace, Stark crossed his arms and looked at Strange, saying, "Where exactly did you say Loki ran off to? Not just Loki, why are Thor and Sif missing too?"

"I knew I couldn't count on them at a critical moment!" Strange said irritably.

Suddenly, Stark was stunned. He looked down at the watch on his wrist. Strange leaned over curiously and asked, "What's wrong?"

The next second, Stark's roar echoed over Asgard.

"Shiler is dead again! He really did go to find Death!

!"
