Chapter 1825

~11 min read 2,025 words

After finishing the business, Loki finally had time to tease his other self; he walked to the side of his other self who was pressed to the ground by the long spear, slowly squatted down, and looked at him with a smile, saying, "How does it feel?"

"Who the hell are you?!" Loki, lying on the ground, gritted his teeth with difficulty and said, "You damn fake, where did you put Lei Shen? What the hell are you doing?!!"

Loki shook his head and said, "I'm not a fake, and neither is Lei Shen; we are you from a parallel universe."

Then he stood up, turned to look at Lei Shen; Lei Shen raised a hand, the long spear pressing on Loki flew up, and Loki stood up from the ground unsteadily.

"I think we can talk." Loki turned to look at Lei Shen again, and after withdrawing his gaze, looked at his other identical self.

Loki's mood was very complicated; he had received too many emotional shocks in the recent period; first he learned that he was not Odin's biological child, then he learned that Odin was actually an invader of Jotunheim, and then he saw the Lei Shen of a parallel universe and himself.

He also turned to look at Lei Shen, who was drinking by the bar; his face was so familiar, but his temperament made him feel distantly strange; this weird conflict made him have too many questions to ask.

He watched his other self walk over, whisper a few words in Lei Shen's ear very familiarly, as if confirming certain things; Lei Shen thought for a moment, glanced in his direction, and nodded.

This gave Loki a great shock; besides Lei Shen actually thinking, he really couldn't understand why the Loki of another universe would be so subservient to Lei Shen.

The other self walked over, jerked his head toward the corridor on the side; Loki followed behind him, and the two walked together into a room on the left side of the corridor on the right side of the hall.

This looked like a lab, but there were two single sofas and a small tea table by the window; Loki was also seeing a window in this strange place for the first time; outside the window was the vast starry sky of the universe; it seemed this spaceship was parked at the edge of the galaxy.

Sitting in the chair, Loki felt a bit uncomfortable; he wanted to make himself look not so curious about the answer; he really couldn't help but ask, "Are you really us from another universe? I mean, are your experiences exactly the same as ours?"

"That depends on up to which point in time." Loki heard his other self from another universe say, "Before Lei Shen went to Earth, our experiences should be the same."

"Then you..."

"I am a Frost Giant."

Loki opened his eyes wide; he didn't know how the self opposite him could say this sentence so calmly; he couldn't help but lean his body forward, gritted his teeth, and said, "Frost Giants are the enemies of the Aesir; Odin invaded Jotunheim, killed my biological father, and took away the artifact of the Frost Giant clan."

"Yes, but you know he hasn't done this for the first time."

Loki was speechless; if the knife didn't cut his own body, he wouldn't know the pain; he didn't feel anything wrong when he followed Lei Shen to fight in wars.

Loki relaxed his strength and leaned back against the chair, but the next sentence of his other self made his heart tighten again.

"Unlike you, the Lei Shen of our universe is already the God King of Asgard."

Loki's hand on the tea table clenched in a second; he didn't dare to look at the expression of the person opposite, turned his head away, and asked, "Then what about you? What about his brother?"

"I am the Prince of Asgard."

Loki let out a disdainful snort and said, "Asgard has never had a prince, and Asgard doesn't need a prince; is this how you comfort yourself?"

The expected fierce rebuttal didn't come; Loki only saw his other self opposite nod and say, "Yes, if the Lei Shen of your universe also awakened so early and became so powerful, you would understand that this is the only path you can choose; he won't let you be his enemy, so you can only submit to him."

"I will never do that." Loki turned his face to lean against the back of the chair, his chin trembling constantly, and said, "We are both princes of Asgard, and I have never been valued; I want to take back what I deserve!"

"Then why didn't you do that just now?"

Loki's nails were almost embedded in his flesh; he tried his best to control his arms not to tremble; the bold words melted like March lake ice the moment he recalled that strange Lei Shen and all his courage.

Loki wanted to tremble, but he knew he couldn't; he tried his best to remain calm, and another sentence pierced his heart like a sharp sword.

"Because you don't dare." He heard his other self say, "You have never been a very courageous person, accustomed to self-preservation and bullying the weak; therefore, even when you were most angry, you only dared to question Odin, but didn't dare to treat him like you treated Lei Shen."

Loki took a deep breath and said, "And just now, Lei Shen reminded me of Odin; I have only seen such momentum in the All-Father."

"So you didn't even dare to use divine power to resist him."

"Is this what you want?" Loki twisted his fingers hard, looked at his other self, and asked, "Why don't you... why don't you..."

By the end, Loki didn't even know what he was saying; he wanted to ask why he didn't kill Lei Shen while he wasn't so powerful and majestic, but he found he couldn't say the second half of the sentence.

Until this moment, he just wanted to teach Lei Shen a lesson; he felt that Odin and his son owed him, but his so-called debt collection was more like just wanting to let them see how powerful he was.

"If I say I never had a chance to kill him, that would be a complete lie; even if he has started to transform, a butterfly still in its cocoon is always fragile."

Loki saw his other self also looking out the window, as if recalling something; after a long while, he heard him open his mouth and say, "I even once let him give up voluntarily, or maybe he actually wasn't pursuing anything other than feelings from beginning to end; daring to love and hate makes people jealous to the point of madness."

"And then you facilitated all this, contentedly becoming his loyal subject; does waiting for Lei Shen to bestow glory upon you like a subject waiting for Odin's reward really make you willing to give up your self-esteem and freedom?"

"Then what are you jealous of?"

Loki could no longer control himself; his Adam's apple trembled violently; the words of loud rebuttal were already on his lips, but the other side used his thumb to pinch his knuckles until they turned white.

What was he jealous of? Their closeness? Lei Shen's recognition? The tacit understanding of eye contact? Or the balance and stability that could be maintained forever just by imagining it?

"Have you ever thought that Lei Shen would become like this one day?"

Loki heard a question like a bolt from the blue, but he searched his brains and couldn't find a tenable reason to refute it.

Lei Shen would inevitably become the God King of Asgard one day; if he ascended the throne, it proved he had this qualification, and a qualified God King was inevitably powerful, indifferent, and full of majesty, just like the All-Father.

"Then where should I go?" Loki muttered to himself.

"Are you willing to leave?"

Loki found that he had encountered the most unanswerable questions in his life within these few short days.

"So while Lei Shen is still your silly brother, find a place to stay that he can give you even if he becomes the God King; since you can't leave freely, there aren't many paths you can choose."

Loki was silent for a long time, then he took a deep breath, looked at his other self opposite, and asked, "Why are you telling me this?"

"I think we can make a deal; S. H. I. E. L. D. has encountered some trouble; you help them solve it, and we will let you return to Earth to reunite with Lei Shen."

Loki turned his face away again; he tasted the word "reunion" on the tip of his tongue, feeling both pretentious and warm.

And he seemed to remember something, asking, "What's going on with the curse? Who cursed Lei Shen?"

"A crazy Sorcerer Supreme from another universe; he is exactly our target; of course, if you are willing to provide us with help, we are also happy to help your brother take revenge."

A dark light flashed in Loki's eyes; after a long while, he restrained all his emotions, raised his chin, and nodded lightly.

The sound of "da da da" keyboard typing kept ringing; cold light shone on Natasha's face; Stark, who had woken up a few hours ago, said he had transmitted the test analysis results to S. H. I. E. L. D.'s database; Natasha was viewing some images on S. H. I. E. L. D.'s computer.

The photo was a pile of molecular arrangements under a high-magnification microscope; Stark used another color to highlight the parts that were not right; Natasha narrowed her eyes and looked over, clearly seeing a trace that looked like a scratch.

After magnifying it again, Natasha was shocked to find that it was actually a series of footprints.

The other party looked like he was running desperately, because the arc-shaped bottle mouth was not convenient for exerting force, so he had to step hard, and the traces left were very clear.

Natasha opened her eyes wide, her gaze left the screen, and she muttered to the air in front of her, "Pym particles..."

"Boom!"

Natasha was sent flying out of thin air, rolled a few times on the ground, and fell into the corner of the wall; she stood up holding her stomach, and immediately reacted to who had attacked her.

She just wanted to adjust her center of gravity to counterattack, when a huge force hit the side of her cheek, and she was hammered into the door next to her again.

Natasha gritted her teeth, pushed open the door, and closed the door with a bang, but the next second, the hard metal security door was torn apart.

Natasha didn't have time to think, reached out to the air next to her, and shouted, "Mjolnir!"

A stream of light swept across the sky, "clatter" a floor of glass shattered, and the hammer flashing with metallic luster landed in Natasha's hand; "crack crack crack," continuous thunderbolts illuminated the black dots floating in the air clearly.

"Pym! Come out! I know it's you! Pym! Are you crazy?!!" Natasha roared.

Thinking of another Avengers civil war, Natasha was furious; the angry thunder Black Widow didn't care about anything and urged the power of thunder, until everything around was scorched black.

Nick, who came over hearing the sound, couldn't care about the property he lost, looked at Natasha with some worry, and asked, "You were attacked, who did it?"

Natasha sighed, raised the hammer at Nick who was walking over; Nick was startled and instinctively raised both hands to signal Natasha to calm down.

"Why would Dr. Pym do these things?" Natasha looked at Nick coldly and said, "What's wrong with him? Answer me!"

Nick was stunned for a moment, as if he remembered something, and said, "You mean this is Ant-Man's ghost? But she..."

Nick lowered his hands, stood in place for a while, and then said, "No, not Ant-Man, not Hope... it's her father, it's her father Hank Pym."
