Chapter 1873

~11 min read 2,024 words

The moment he saw Schiller, Stark's curiosity and fury surged up simultaneously. He had too many questions to ask, but before he could even fly down, he heard Schiller's final words and that scream of agony.

As soon as he landed, he saw a bizarre-looking robot standing opposite Schiller. To his surprise, the lights on the robot's faceplate flashed, and when it opened, it revealed a face identical to his own.

Wait, this is another universe, so the one opposite is this universe's Iron Man?! And he is an enemy of Schiller?!

Stark was instantly bewildered. In that other universe, he and Schiller were friends, and he felt they got along very well. Why, then, would Schiller be his enemy in this universe? Could there be some misunderstanding?

Before he could even open his mouth to ask, he heard a roar coming from the instrument behind him, escalating from a low rumble to a high-pitched, hysterical scream of pain.

Stark immediately charged toward the instrument. He punched the hatch, denting the silver-white metal and causing a wisp of gas to leak out.

"Schiller, Schiller! What's wrong with you? Answer me!! Damn it! Open this thing!!!"

Stark roared while attacking the hatch, but he instantly felt a gust of wind behind his head. An alarm sounded, and Jarvis controlled the armor to retreat rapidly. A projectile hit the ground directly beneath Stark, shattering the metal floor into pieces.

Superior Iron Man had already donned his faceplate. A cold light flashed in his eyes as he hovered in mid-air, looking at Stark and saying, "I don't care where you fake came from, get lost!"

Fury welled up in Stark's heart. He flipped his body in the air and dived back for a low-altitude charge. In an instant, artillery fire flew everywhere, and the two Iron Men fought in an inseparable struggle.

Superior Iron Man extended his arm, and several rockets shot out with a whistling sound, hitting Stark instantly. The impact sent Stark flying back several meters, crashing into the wall behind him. Although the wall was dented, Stark's vibranium armor remained unscathed.

At this moment, Jarvis's prompt sounded in Stark's ear: "The opponent is charging a high-frequency vibration weapon, please be careful!"

Stark did not dodge; instead, he immediately adjusted his posture, knelt on one knee, and extended his hand. He fired a laser first, plowing a deep, charred trench into the ground.

Being a laser weapon, Superior Iron Man immediately retracted his entire armor to avoid damage from the laser's high heat, while simultaneously charging his legs to keep himself in a state ready to fly at any moment.

After avoiding the laser, Superior Iron Man's armor suddenly ejected a silver substance that struck Stark's armor like bullets. A smug smile appeared on the face beneath Superior Iron Man's mask.

The greatest advantage of the symbiote armor was the symbiote factor's extreme penetrating power, which could corrode any metal armor in an instant. Dealing with his former self was a piece of cake.

After a cloud of smoke cleared, there was indeed no movement from the other side. Superior Iron Man landed on the ground and slowly walked over to investigate.

But just then, the red and gold armor suddenly sprang up from the ground, spiraling in a dive with lightning speed. It slammed into Superior Iron Man's chest, wrapped its arms around him, and charged out, both of them crashing into the wall on the side of the instrument.

Superior Iron Man had miscalculated the strength of the opponent's armor shell. The symbiote factor had not been able to fully penetrate the vibranium armor in the first instance, and Stark's vibranium armor still had the strength to fight.

Stark pinned Superior Iron Man down and threw a punch, hitting him hard on his silver faceplate. Unfortunately, the shock-absorption capability of the symbiote armor was also top-tier. Seeing that Superior Iron Man didn't react, he followed up with a few more heavy blows.

"Enough!" Superior Iron Man roared.

He grabbed Stark's wrist with one hand and swung a punch at his faceplate with the other. The two wrestled together.

But just then, a bright portal suddenly appeared in the center of the empty base. A roar came from the portal: "Schiller! Schiller! Peter, let me go! I must settle this score with him today. Even if he saved half the people in our universe, he can't do this without our consent..."

An Iron Man rushed out of the portal, followed by a helpless-looking Spider-Man. Just as he was about to rush out of the portal, he was pushed back into it by Iron Man, who shouted toward the entrance: "Close the door!!"

With a "whoosh," the portal closed. The Iron Man who had just rushed out then turned to look for Schiller's figure.

Then he froze.

Iron Man looked left and right, seeing no one standing. Looking closer, why were there two iron cans wrestling in the corner?

Once the life-scan device was activated, why were both people opposite wearing Iron Man armor?

Jarvis spoke in Iron Man's ear at the right time: "Scanning complete, sir. The opponents have almost identical physical characteristics to you. Data shows that both of them are Tony Stark."

Iron Man was completely stunned, but he still instinctively asked: "Is Schiller here?"

"Yes, he is in the instrument on your left-hand side, but the machine seems to have failed to..."

Just as he said this, the portal behind Iron Man opened again with a "zing." Spider-Man stepped out halfway, grabbing Iron Man's arm to pull him back, saying: "Mr. Stark, go back quickly. You can't piggyback on my channel. It will be terrible if they find out. Let's go!"

Iron Man only reacted after being pulled to the edge of the portal. He tried hard to pull away Spider-Man's hand from his wrist, but he didn't dare to use force. Although he knew Spider-Man was strong, he was made of flesh and blood, while he was in a suit of iron. He was worried about scratching Spider-Man.

Spider-Man also didn't dare to use force. He knew how strong he was; if he really wanted to, he could grab Iron Man's wrist, swing him around, and throw him away. But he was worried about damaging Iron Man's armor, so the two were deadlocked for a moment.

"Spider-Man, you can't stop me. Why are you siding with outsiders?" Iron Man said quite exasperatedly: "This damn psychologist moved away half the resources of the three empires. I must go to him to demand an explanation..."

"Alright, Mr. Stark, I have serious business with Dr. Schiller. You should go back. If other Spider-Men find out, I won't be able to finish my business either."

Spider-Man also had his own troubles. He had previously fallen into the zombie universe with Helen and followed Zombie Spider-Man to save another zombie universe. Originally, there was nothing left to do, but Zombie Spider-Man suddenly observed that the antidote previously used to treat the zombie virus was showing some abnormalities.

Spider-Man had a bad feeling, so he wanted to come to Dr. Schiller to ask. But he didn't expect that the Iron Man of his universe was still angry that Schiller had schemed to take away more than half of the wreckage of the three-empire war while the movie universe was in chaos due to Thanos. He insisted on coming to demand it back. Taking advantage of Spider-Man's inattention, he slipped through the channel.

Now the Spider-Army was cracking down on channel smuggling. Spider-Man didn't dare let other Spider-Men know that he had actually let Iron Man in, so he pulled back desperately.

While the two were tugging, the two iron cans in the corner weren't idle either. Stark gave Superior Iron Man a punch first. Superior Iron Man didn't show weakness, flipped over to pin him underneath, and gave him two punches. Stark flipped back over, knelt on one knee, grabbed Superior Iron Man's waist, and threw him out.

Facts proved that when humans are emotional, they only know how to throw wild punches. Even though two Jarvises were shouting non-stop inside the armor, these two Tony Starks didn't listen to a word.

In fact, Superior Iron Man's strength was much greater than this young Iron Man's, but he had been blinded by the emotional fluctuations caused by Schiller. Now that his forehead was cut and he had calmed down slightly, he used the armor's maximum output, flipped into mid-air, grabbed Stark who was still lying on the ground, and slammed him into the instrument.

The instrument sparked. Superior Iron Man tilted his head, hurriedly grabbed Stark, and slammed him into the wall to the side, putting some distance between them and the instrument.

The power extraction program set by Superior Iron Man in the instrument was still running as usual, but just then, Schiller suddenly let out a painful roar.

Instantly, the two hero Iron Men's pupils shrank. Superior Iron Man couldn't help but turn his head to look. Stark, who was being pinned to the wall by him, immediately realized this was a good opportunity. He lifted a foot and kicked Superior Iron Man in the lower abdomen, then threw another punch that knocked his body sideways, staggering as he moved to the side.

This completely enraged Superior Iron Man. He extended a hand, grabbed Stark's neck tightly, lifted him off the ground, and flew up, carrying Stark into mid-air, clearly intending to throw Stark to the ground.

Spider-Man and Iron Man, who were tugging at each other on the side, finally realized something was wrong. Iron Man retracted his arms, took off, and fired several rockets toward Superior Iron Man.

The moment Superior Iron Man turned his head, the eyes of Stark, whom he was holding, flashed. He roared at Jarvis: "High-frequency oscillating current!"

"Sir, then you will also..."

"Do it!"

"Zzzzt—"

A burst of dazzling electric light erupted from the two of them. Superior Iron Man couldn't dodge in time, and white smoke instantly poured from his armor. But Stark's armor also lost control, and both of them plummeted downward.

Below them was the instrument where Schiller was located.

Schiller widened his eyes, trying to open the hatch in a flurry, but it was too late.

The previous screams were all faked by him. The instrument's so-called power extraction device had no effect on him at all. Superior Iron Man believed his nonsense and thought he was a mutant. In fact, Schiller had no X-gene at all. How could a power extraction device targeting the X-gene be useful against him?

He also knew that the fish he had hooked would come, or rather, the clues he left were intended to lure Stark to find him. He also knew that the two of them would fight.

But he didn't expect these two unlucky things to be like they had water in their brains, not fighting an aerial battle but hand-to-hand combat, and crashing straight toward his side.

Schiller's hatch was only open a small crack. He hadn't had time to crawl out when the two human missiles slammed into the top of the instrument with a boom.

When Stark broke in earlier, the top of the instrument had already been hit by building debris. The two iron cans were heavier than each other, and when they crashed down, they completely shattered the instrument's shell. To make matters worse, there was still residual current on Stark's armor.

"Zzzzt—Boom! Boom, boom!!!"

An asteroid drifted slowly under the cold light of a distant star. Suddenly, a point on the back of the asteroid erupted with an extremely dazzling light, instantly turning into a violent explosion.

The asteroid's celestial body was completely pulverized. The shockwave from the explosion swept through all the small celestial bodies in the surrounding area, and the surroundings were in chaos in an instant.

On Earth, in the laboratory of Stark Industries, the instrument suddenly sounded a harsh alarm. Stark turned his head abruptly, only to see the red dot representing Schiller's vital signs flashing wildly.

In an instant, the Iron Demon God descended.
