Chapter 1875

~10 min read 1,983 words

The stars were dim, the universe was vast, and the magnificent scene was still before their eyes.

In the endless darkness, dots of starlight flickered like the eyes of countless gods silently watching this vast universe. The universe was full of vitality, with countless living beings shuttling through it. Looking up, the magnificent was just another kind of insignificance, and above them was another mysterious and magnificent world.

In the boundless Great World, every universe was a point of light. Points of light gathered in one place to form galaxies, floating and winding like giant beasts, emitting mysterious energy fluctuations. The star streams that constituted the rules of the world lingered among them, like a fairyland shrouded in mist.

From the dust of the universe to the dust-like universe, from the boundless world to the boundlessness outside the world, they all floated quietly in the universe, as if waiting for some unknown fate.

In the distance, at the end of the darkness, those huge eyes wandering outside the world saw a small point of light in the complex multiverse through the barrier of the Great World and the barrier of the Omniverse.

That was an extremely special universe that had wandered inside and outside the barrier of the Great World several times. If one looked closely, many things were missing between the star streams of this universe's rules, but this was a good thing for the owner of these eyes.

The five gods representing the lowest rules of the universe and the Living Tribunal above them had left this universe, leaving only a lush wasteland for people to take as they pleased.

A pair of huge hands gently lifted the universe, like holding a sleeping baby. When his hands gently separated, a phantom emerged from the bubble of this universe. In the blink of an eye, the same universe bubble became two.

The two universe bubbles were identical, but the huge hands left the original one in place and lifted the replica with both hands.

Those huge and bright eyes looked into the deep darkness outside the Great World, and the hands pushed gently. The replicated universe bubble flew slowly toward the depths of the darkness.

The Great World, which possessed galaxies composed of countless universe bubbles and points of light, was like a civilized city with ten thousand lights. The living beings in the insignificant universe were like the lamp illuminating the living room.

But this universe, drifting alone toward the darkness, was gradually moving away from the prosperous lights of the human world. The inside of the universe was also empty, with no living beings lighting that lamp.

The small boat flew further and further away, like a lonely wanderer, but in the deepest part of the darkness, it stopped.

If the Great World in every story is compared to land, then this lonely little boat was parked in the center of the ocean current. This was a high sea not under the jurisdiction of anything.

The moment it stopped, countless shadow-like fragments turned into meteors and rushed toward here. They mainly came from two directions, but under the gaze of the huge eyes, they flowed into this universe like streams flowing into a river. The breath of living beings began to light up the inside of the universe again.

When these spiritual projections, who had experienced a long journey, opened their eyes again, they saw that incomparably familiar blue planet.

"Welcome to 'Battleworld-New Earth'."

A mechanical voice, identical to the previous one, sounded in the ears of all the projections. After their consciousness gradually recovered, they found that they were floating above the blue Earth.

On a floating island like a spiral galaxy, countless points of light floated, forming nebulae one after another. But if one looked closely, there were a few small human figures in each point of light, seemingly peers from different universes.

Just as the figures in all the points of light were attracted by the Earth, a pair of huge eyes opened above the star disk, and that gentle voice sounded again.

"Duelists, I know you have many questions you want to ask, but please listen to me first."

"First of all, welcome to Battleworld. This is a mirror universe created by the Beyonder, currently floating in the Sea of No Light between the Great Worlds, a small dark corner in the myriad universes."

"Please don't worry, what has come here are your spiritual projections. There is no concept of time here. When you return to the universe where you are, time will not flow."

"Every individual who comes here is a duelist. Your mission is to experience trials and tribulations on the New Earth beneath your feet, win, and become the true King of Battleworld."

"You come from different universes and possess various abilities. Every trial here may strengthen you or weaken you, depending on the rules of the game."

"Your bodies and spirits in the real world will not suffer real harm, but in Battleworld, all the pain you feel is real, and so is death."

"Your various senses will be uniformly regulated by the rules of Battleworld, and the dead duelists will leave the Earth and return to the star disk. If they are not resurrected by special means, they will leave uniformly after the winner is decided."

"You may think this is a virtual game, but the rule of Battleworld is that what is destroyed in transcendence must be reborn in transcendence."

"In the real world, the universes of all of you were about to be destroyed. They would collide in pairs, and in the end, none would survive."

"Battleworld is the only chance for you to make the universe where you are reborn. Only by showing your courage, wisdom, and unity here and winning the final victory can you make your universe achieve true rebirth."

"Go, duelists, transcendence is endless, the game is about to begin, Battleworld-New Earth will be your first foothold, win honor for your universe here, and let them achieve true rebirth in transcendence."

As the voice fell, countless points of light on the star disk fell toward the blue planet beneath their feet, disappearing into the air currents and clouds above the planet.

Passing through the atmosphere, the familiar blue sky and white clouds made all humans feel incomparably intimate, but looking down further, the cities dotted between the mountains and rivers had become very strange.

This was Earth, but not quite. Countless huge city-states, familiar yet strange, seemed to condense the long river of history into one. But before the travelers could drink their fill, the points of light had already fallen to the ground, turning from stars in the sky back into people watching the stars.

When Stark opened his eyes, he only saw a hazy white light slowly condensing into a bright silver cone. The glowing object in front of him didn't seem to be substantial. The moment Stark stared at it, it turned into a stream of light and burrowed into Stark's arm.

Stark looked down and saw a thin rhombus with a missing vertical line at the top appearing on the back of his hand. Suddenly, a silver-white light screen popped up on the diagonal of the rhombus, followed by a soft electronic voice in his ear.

"Team structure 'Avengers' detected. Please vote for the team leader on the duelist mark and register team members in order. After registration is complete, the team base range will automatically expand, and the safe zone will be established within 30 minutes."

Stark was startled, but when he turned his head, he saw Schiller standing beside him staring at the back of his hand. He breathed a sigh of relief, walked up, and said: "What the hell is going on? What is Battleworld? Why is the universe about to be destroyed again?"

"How would I know? I was just watching you fight." Schiller spread his hands and said: "Don't look at me with those eyes, I don't know any more than you do."

"Oh, shit, why is my back so sore? Didn't I land on my butt? God, Steve, your shield hit me!" Peter's wailing came from behind. Stark and Schiller turned their heads and found Peter standing up shakily from the ground, holding the Stars and Stripes shield.

Further away, Seeing Natasha was helping Steve stand up, while Ma Te was bending over, feeling for his blind cane on the ground.

At this moment, a yellow figure "whooshed" past Ma Te, picked up the blind cane, and threw it toward Ma Te. Ma Te heard the wind and grabbed it. Pikachu hopped onto the table and said: "Don't thank me."

Schiller looked around and said: "It seems the members of the first-generation Avengers are all here, but what does this have to do with me? I'm not an official member, just a psychological consultant."

Stark hugged his arms and stared at Schiller, looking unconvinced. Schiller shrugged, not giving much explanation. Steve looked around on his way over and found that this was a silver-white space.

In the center of the entire space was an hourglass-shaped platform with a hexagon engraved on it. On each side of the hexagon was a rhombus pattern pointing inward.

"What was said just now? We need to choose a team leader and then register the list of team members?"

"I want to know what the hell is going on even more." Stark walked toward the platform, looked at it from various angles, and only when he patted the tabletop with his hand did he find that when his hand approached the rhombus on one of the sides, that side lit up.

Schiller also walked over, pressed the back of his hand on one of the rhombuses, and let the pattern on the back of his hand overlap with the pattern on the tabletop. Sure enough, his side also lit up.

The others gathered around one after another. Peter hugged Pikachu and took a look at its paws, finding no pattern on them. Pikachu flicked its tail, rolled its eyes, and said: "I didn't join the Avengers. You wouldn't really expect a mouse to duel, would you?"

Seeing Natasha grabbed Ma Te's wrist to help him find the position of the pattern. Steve also tried to put his hand on it, but at this time Stark withdrew his hand and said: "Don't you think this is a bit strange? What if it's a trap?"

"He could bring us here, so what if it's a trap?" Seeing Natasha sighed and said: "I guess it's another alien or god who can't think straight and wants to watch gladiatorial combat for fun."

Stark put one hand on his hip and covered his forehead with the other, gritting his teeth and saying: "Why are these guys so idle every day? He's already so strong, can't he go do something useful?"

"Stop talking nonsense." Ma Te said: "It seems that if we don't register, they won't give us other clues. Then let's follow the old rules: the captain will be the leader, let's register."

Stark looked uninterested. Obviously, being treated as a cricket to be fought made him feel very impatient, so he waved his hand and approved of Ma Te's statement. The six of them pressed their hands on the pattern together.

Instantly, all six sides of the hexagon lit up, and a pyramid emerged from the center of the six sides. Steve looked left and right, saw the affirmative looks from Seeing Natasha and Schiller on both sides, and reached out to touch the pyramid.

A voice sounded.

"Team leader confirmed, team name is Avengers 2260, team base projected, safe zone will expand in 30 minutes."

"After the safe zone expands, please pay attention to the New Earth broadcast, listen to important game rules, and embark on your journey of transcendence. Good luck, duelists."
